Superb content. I'm not really surprised that a Midas Void prioritizes survivability, especially given how the rest of his lineup looks. They need someone to be in the opponents face, be annoying and draw fire from Zeus and AA, which in turn enables them to deal a lot of damage, relieving Void of much of that burden. This also synergizes nicely with a Brood that wants to poke and prod, and doesn't really like to move in to stand her ground and fight. If there is one thing I'd like to highlight myself, it would be the impact of his aggressive laning. I don't think I'm joking when I say that maybe 1/30 carries I play with seem to understand that their laning phase is about more than just cs, and that often times in order to secure that cs, you actually have to put pressure on the opponents. It also delays their timings, reduces the chance that they will have the resources to setup on your carry, makes it easier for supports to pull, stack and maintain vision dominance etc.
In the majority of offlane vs safelane matchups, the offlane duo is stronger than the safelane duo. Usually the hard sup is pretty strong but the carry is not. Putting pressure on opponents should primarily be the hard support's job, and carry should only join if there are no creeps in cs or deny range, if one enemy hero is out of position for an ez kill, or if the enemy is going on the hard sup and the carry can successfully help or disengage after trying. If the safelaner strays from the wave and gives up cs trying to "pressure" the early/midgame offlaner without the enemy initiating first, and it isn't a strong matchup for them, they'll simply be losing resources without gaining gold. This sucks because by lvl 6-7 the offlane duo will usually be too strong to lane against without items, and the carry will be forced to go nc with nothing. Supports that want to put themselves in bad positions to trade and then get angry with their carry for not helping should play pos 4, not pos 5.
I was about to comment that he has AA and Zeus in team, so theres really no reason to go for a glass cannon build. You kinda just want to ensure your own survival and hitting a good chrono. With AA ulti you dont really need damage as void in order to kill pretty much anybody with chrono. What comes in to the laning phase being more than just cs, theres obviously a fine balance between being more aggressive and focusing on cs.
what i see in his stream is 23savage is calm and collected.. he does not flame when he is in a bad lane or keeps feeding early game.. he only focuses on farming his next item, fight when there is a chance to have kill on a clash..
if you see void+aa and think “oh this is a weak matchup i should play accordingly” you’re overanalysing the game. The cream of the highest mmr crop are so because they don’t think too much. Similar to how musicians who obsess over music theory rarely make great music, dota is instinctive. Theory is great for teaching 2ks to grow into 6ks, but competitive dota comes from the heart, not the mind.
It almost seems like he did chrono to bait the other team into thinking they got the upperhand in a post fight, which he knew it was not the truth. Specially with this damn annoying timewalk and backwalk of the shard with insane low cd. The other thing is that he knows he doesn't need more than the damage that he got, because there is no tide, tiny, axe or other super tanky hero on the other side, which would required that extra crit/damage. So his kiting and damage, even after not having a chrono proves itself very sufficient so that he can go for a survival build....
zeus mid and brood playing solo most of the game probably means he fulfills a utility tank role which is wierd to some people but it makes sense to me. If you see any of his other games, he almost always goes midas, i wonder if its because he is trying to hit a lvl powerspike sooner.

Even the best super-team lineups in sports aren't usually judged on first year success. That's why I don't like the annual post-ti team shuffle. Seems like every team guts 2-3 or more players. I understand sometimes it's the org but I would really like to see just 5 talented guys stay together for 4+ years.
Wings is probably the greatest example of that. Spent a lot of time (2.5 years IIRC) in China tier 2 with very limited international exposure, and when it all came together for them they won TI. Considering how game patches work, banking on internal improvement can be unreliable because of this additional variable, unlike a young team adding pieces through the draft in a traditional sport which doesn't go through patches often. Not only that you have to hope for the players to improve, but also for the patch to favor them faster than it favors the competition.
eSports teams are just looking to hit the jackpot on a pub stack (Entity, and Creepwave) instead of developing talent that might get poached one way or another.

Since we already established his job is to survive and not to be a glass cannon, maybe 23's decision is to resist the attack speed temptation and to stick to the role he decided for himself throughout the game. @@ArilandoArilando it's true. My main account is like 6.5k mmr and it has normal queue at like 3-5mins. I wanted a smurf account so I can play with friends so I created a new account. I was hoping to calibrate it at a lower mmr so I can play with them but after just 20 games, the queue time for my smurf account became like 15-20mins. And after reaching 100 hrs to play rank, I calibrated at immortal rank again with 5.7k mmr. That smurf account has insane queue times 15mins at the fastest and sometimes 1hr+ queue without even finding any matches. I've got more queue time than play time on that account xD. Smurf pool is real 😅
There’s one thing that needs to be noted about this build is that it is a cookie cutter build, you can build like this every game and it always feels good. I spam void and this is my go to build. The linken helps sustain very well both for hp and mana since he doesn’t have any life steal. There’s always a spell to block and items like basher hex silence in the game also, but the mana hp regen and stats is actually more important than the spell block. Skadi is always needed, good vs any carry since the slow pierces bkb. Void is probably the carry that benefits most from a skadi. He uses every stat from it especially the mana part that most carries don’t need. The skadi is also very natural as your next item is always a refresher and without a skadi you will not have enough mana to fight since refresher, bkb, and Chrono all costs a ton of mana. I’m a void spammer btw.
just wanna ask, is this playstyle viable for low mmr? I feel like playing conservative in games where so many things can be exploitable is detrimental to winning, such as when I am getting stomped, if I am playing exceedingly safe it hurts my chance of winning as the opponent can practically do the same, only that they have much more farm as they control the map. So I feel very safe builds like 23savage's only maelstrom + a bit of AS from midas being his only source of damage is not as effective (in low mmr). And the enemies will play passively and farm, not because they are all 8k pros but just because they wont end and push. Therefore, playing conservative in this situation, i feel will just hurt my chances as they will eventually be rich enough to destroy us in base. I am just a scrub so appreciate your take @BananaSlamJamma
I play low MMR games, i understand that if u know your hero and u do not miss last hits u actually win passively, in my games pp don't lh and is always underfarmed. If u had bad supports u can ward urself, the only thing I can say it's beyond it control is ur team feeding hard, that it's difficult to overcome. But if u know how to play it hero, u got good lh and map awareness u win easy and climb
I would say depends on what you consider low mmr, but for the most part I would say yes, and the whole smurfing series from BSJ is him showing that by just playing simple and playing the map correctly you can win games without doing anything flashy
In low mmr, all you have to think is yourself. You just have to farm until you can fight. Shoving the lane or split pushing that will buy time for you and your team. If you have enough item, you either join your team in fight or they come to you, that's all -- You join or they join.
Playing carry no matter what the mmr the basics are the same, just the higher the mmr the better the efficiency of farming and intuition to avoid being ganked in ur own jungle. I would suggest just focusing on ur farm don’t and don’t turn up to fights unless you hit a power spike, completing ur BKB for example, then tell ur team to look for a team fight so you can capitalise on it. When ur farming look at the mini map, if the enemy team in stop farm ur way towards bottom. If the enemy team is bottom, farm ur way toward top. This causes the enemy team to literally chase you round the map hunting you while you are constantly increasing ur gold advantage over them. Don’t just throw after all of this by diving high ground, intact just don’t go high ground unless u have an agis. These basics if followed correctly are easily enough to get to 5-6k.
In this video, he isn't too conservative. He is in lane, and with his build, but he takes a lot of calculated chances too, and plays around good opportunities. Also if you are low mmr, you can win games as carry just by being more efficient faeming. Sure the enemy could theoritically also do that, as you said, but they also make tons of mistakes and inneficiances, like you said, so it's unlikely.
It kinda looks like he was just forcing dawnbreaker to use ult into chrono, escape and then they just fuck them all while AA uses ult on all of them, really nice plays.
I'm still between having fun with a good old hero that you master with more skill involved and that you love to play or chosing the exaclty right counter like void that you don't really like to play cuz u just click chrono (i know there is more spell etc but you have to click less in a way...) Anyway, this is why im bad at the game, i prefer confort food over a real protein low carbs plate for hitting the gym after (ahahaha wtf im saying)
Here’s why void is hard to play. - he has no recovery flash farm ability so you have to play your lane very well. - all his spells are hard to use effectively. Time walk and reverse time walk have a very short cooldown so you will have to make decisions constantly on how to use it effectively. Time dilation requires you to keep track of your opponents spells and their cooldowns. Even calculating how often you will bash in the early levels depending on how many skill points you put in it is crucial. Chrono is a very long cd spell so you have to make good use of it every time. It’s also a spell that can grief your teammates, you have to make very good decisions when playing void. Especially when the enemy has saves like ww, shadow demon, dazzle, oracle, swap, pugna, pudge ect

and weirdly enough, the more they are meta, the less that i will want to play them. If people like to play this hero to much and have success with it. i will be like fuck that hero!!!! but in the end, i should really pick this hero if it counter them really well in a game and i just fuck my self trying something else that is not countering the other team as much

He has a great potential, reminds me of Ana in his prime. He just need a good team to work with like OG, OLD G, T.Spirit, Tundra or any top tier team, he will go a miles away than where he is at right now.

I really want him to go WEU team, his potential gonna grow insanely there. He trembles in critical situations in tournaments. He needs good guidance instead of staying in his comfort zone. Speaks English decently also.
He got invited to vg but covid happened. He also got invited to og last year but decided to believe in t1 only to get kick by kuku. This year he got invited to tsm which is why he recommends whitemon to the team but in the end decide to stay with talon.

But for example FV in this game that has a decent Agh's but isn't worth as much as an actual carry item, or a potential transition for AA in the super late game (which they wouldn't want because of how many heroes scale on Radiant), Alch Agh's might be faster.
Normally carry get item that allow farming for 1st 2nd item echoes is for snowballing the game or you have a skill to farm and still looking to fight CK Slark MK etc.he’s a void a late game hero which has no farming skill so maelstrom is the most viable one cause fury is too expensive.
He wants midas this game and mael works with midas better than echo. I never really seen void echo, mael is just better at farming and with bash he has 2 chances to proc something it's just a better void item in general
The meaningful difference between his 13k and my 3k is that all his other lanes are fairly equal, not stomped like mine. You can’t “set up as a carry for your team” when enemy storm spirit has 11 min orchid.(recent game of mine) Then, he comes top and you have two scenarios: 1) you leave your lane, he pushes down your t1 2) you stay on the lane, orchid-you dead, he pushes down your t1. I mean it’s just inevitable when your mid ta is 0 5 by min 11. After push, they ward your jungle and gg, you have nowhere to farm 👏 The only way I see to win a game at 3k is to spam tinker and visage to solo the game, but I guess you’re stuck here forever if that is just not your game style.😭
It happens to high mmr as well a lot of times, they are just too good at playing even from behind. While you probably are not coz you are complaining on a 11min orchid.
Playing behind should be no problem if you are that efficient in farming and in lane equilibrium and add the map awareness. Hp, mana, items/skill used and take advantage of it, also take advantage with your powerspike. Like Void powerspikes with MoM or Treads and level 9-12.. you should know how to harras well and do not be afraid to trade last hits even its 1v2 in laning. Focus on adapting what skill build to choose and what item to buy first, rather than complaining with your teammates. If u want to climb up to very high skill games, you need to adjust every time and 1v9 the game if your teammates really not that helpful in your rank games.
@bananaSlamJamma 19:30 bsj so u really have no idea why he used the chrono there and keeps using it whenever he can? he is forcing actions from the opponent, Dawn used ult so that means dawn cant split-push anymore so he himself can go and split-push farm + his teammates can get more map control. U missed a hardcore detail of the min inside this guy. All he cares even at mid games is about map control so most of his actions are channeled towards that dream. MAP CONTROL/MAP EFFICIENCy.

This was really good. I can use this info, for faceless don't always go for maximizing damage in ult. His build allows him to fight without ult.

Void is a very hard carry to play it’s not just click chrono. You’re probably losing your games with void so you don’t like playing him loll
Here’s why void is hard to play.
- he has no recovery flash farm ability so you have to play your lane very well.
- all his spells are hard to use effectively. Time walk and reverse time walk have a very short cooldown so you will have to make decisions constantly on how to use it effectively. Time dilation requires you to keep track of your opponents spells and their cooldowns. Even calculating how often you will bash in the early levels depending on how many skill points you put in it is crucial. Chrono is a very long cd spell so you have to make good use of it every time. It’s also a spell that can grief your teammates, you have to make very good decisions when playing void. Especially when the enemy has saves like ww, shadow demon, dazzle, oracle, swap, pugna, pudge ect
@@justmusic2353 not that i dislike void but i don't like the fact that you can wombo combo a lot more with him(invoker etc) and have greater chance to win without having the real struggle but this is a personnal pref at the end and im more of a zoo hero guy that u have to move your camera to folow your zoo/ilu here and there and click af ...
and weirdly enough, the more they are meta, the less that i will want to play them. If people like to play this hero to much and have success with it. i will be like fuck that hero!!!! but in the end, i should really pick this hero if it counter them really well in a game and i just fuck my self trying something else that is not countering the other team as much

He has a great potential, reminds me of Ana in his prime. He just need a good team to work with like OG, OLD G, T.Spirit, Tundra or any top tier team, he will go a miles away than where he is at right now.

I really want him to go WEU team, his potential gonna grow insanely there. He trembles in critical situations in tournaments. He needs good guidance instead of staying in his comfort zone. Speaks English decently also.

He also got invited to og last year but decided to believe in t1 only to get kick by kuku.
This year he got invited to tsm which is why he recommends whitemon to the team but in the end decide to stay with talon.

Cause Dota is a cool game with all kinds of strategies. Alch give 5 second stun, -armor, and free aghs for cores

But for example FV in this game that has a decent Agh's but isn't worth as much as an actual carry item, or a potential transition for AA in the super late game (which they wouldn't want because of how many heroes scale on Radiant), Alch Agh's might be faster.

Normally carry get item that allow farming for 1st 2nd item echoes is for snowballing the game or you have a skill to farm and still looking to fight CK Slark MK etc.he’s a void a late game hero which has no farming skill so maelstrom is the most viable one cause fury is too expensive.
And then do nothing with the echo sabre slow? Could still be an option if you want to build a BKB and Butterfly from it.
He wants midas this game and mael works with midas better than echo. I never really seen void echo, mael is just better at farming and with bash he has 2 chances to proc something it's just a better void item in general

SEA is a double edge sword. You either get opponents that are complete garbage or you get teammates that are complete garbage.

The meaningful difference between his 13k and my 3k is that all his other lanes are fairly equal, not stomped like mine. You can’t “set up as a carry for your team” when enemy storm spirit has 11 min orchid.(recent game of mine) Then, he comes top and you have two scenarios:
1) you leave your lane, he pushes down your t1
2) you stay on the lane, orchid-you dead, he pushes down your t1.
I mean it’s just inevitable when your mid ta is 0 5 by min 11. After push, they ward your jungle and gg, you have nowhere to farm 👏 The only way I see to win a game at 3k is to spam tinker and visage to solo the game, but I guess you’re stuck here forever if that is just not your game style.😭
It happens to high mmr as well a lot of times, they are just too good at playing even from behind. While you probably are not coz you are complaining on a 11min orchid.

People lose lane all the time even in immortal. Its about how u adapt.
First why dont u win your lane?
Playing behind should be no problem if you are that efficient in farming and in lane equilibrium and add the map awareness. Hp, mana, items/skill used and take advantage of it, also take advantage with your powerspike. Like Void powerspikes with MoM or Treads and level 9-12.. you should know how to harras well and do not be afraid to trade last hits even its 1v2 in laning. Focus on adapting what skill build to choose and what item to buy first, rather than complaining with your teammates. If u want to climb up to very high skill games, you need to adjust every time and 1v9 the game if your teammates really not that helpful in your rank games.

he is forcing actions from the opponent, Dawn used ult so that means dawn cant split-push anymore so he himself can go and split-push farm + his teammates can get more map control.
U missed a hardcore detail of the min inside this guy.
All he cares even at mid games is about map control so most of his actions are channeled towards that dream. MAP CONTROL/MAP EFFICIENCy.
