A little bit of what this means.
In Buddhism, at the highest levels of spiritual accomplishment, the person is said to acquire a "grant-wishing jewel", which does exactly that. It's used by enlightened beings to help humanity. Also, when some monks die and are cremated, small crystals are found amidst the ashes that are considered sacred relics and taken to be the beginnings of such jewels.
In Daoism, a high-level practitioner is said to form a jewel within their body, which signals they achieved immortality (deityhood), and their spirit survives their body death. Some consider this sacred jewel to be the same one Buddhism talks about.
A divine jewel-spitting mongoose is that same idea tuned up to 11. 🙂
