my concern is the installed drivers of the old motherboard to the NVMe (whew the os is installed). should i uninstall all the drivers of the old motherboard before installing it to the new motherboard ?
Great video. Just replaced my mobo today while following this vid. thanks yall!
1:05 what if haven’t activate windows?
Don't need to worry about it.
That was my question too
Then yer pc will fucking explode
I have built many PCs in the past and always start fresh with a new case and all, I find this easiest. However I have never just upgraded the internals around a case that I've already had for 5 years. This is going to be a harder task I think versus just starting fresh
Do you have to buy a new m.2? or are you able to use the old one from the previous motherboard??
Thank you guys, was super helpful!
after replace mother how to operate to change program tks for your video
When upgrading my motherboard do I need to reinstall windows, if I do then what should I do if I already have a ssd with windows installed that I used on the previous motherboard?
If I’m moving from an i5 9400f to a i5 11400f and a suitiblw motherboard what will I have to back up, will it be an easy enough upgrade
idk if they or anybody will reply, but if I'm swapping the case, psu, and mobo, but keeping the same GPU, CPU, RAM, and most importantly storage devices with the Windows 10 Home OS, will my files stay and my OS if I'm signed into my microsoft account, or will it just be my OS and no files, or somehow nothing at all?
im not sure if a motherboard that i am going to get supports my Nvidia Gtx 1060 6gb. For the Nvidia Gtx 1060 6gb it says that it needs a PCI Express® or PCI Express 3.0-compliant motherboard with one dual-width x16
graphics slot. The website for my motherboard says it has MULTI-GPU: With STEEL ARMOR PCI-E slots. Supports 3-Way AMD Crossfire™ Could this motherboard support my current graphics card?
Use pc part picker to check the compatibility of your parts!
If i change my motherboard will it reset my data and windows?
no
What about the RAM? when do we insert that? Should we do that before we plug in the GPU after already plugging in the cables?
the rams should be installed first, easier if you have a big cooler. than the cpu and cooler, than the GPU. Don't forget to put the ram into no. 2 and 4 slots ( if you have only two sticks of course)
Hey so after linking Microsoft account to license is there anything else i need to download like windows onto a usb so wen new mobo is installed then i would need to download windows from it or i dont need to do anything like that? So just follow these steps directly??
Really need to know just received my new mobo and cpu and never done this before
Do I need to remove the old motherboard drivers first before I need to upgrade?
Doing this tomorrow going from MSI z170 M5 to an MSI z390 MEG ACE. Nerve wrecking 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

Upgrading motherboard from b250 m3 to m6 (for better ram support). same cpu. will i have to reinstall windows or drivers? both msi and same cpu. thanks!
My mobo is an old model, is ok to upg for gpu?
do you have to upgrade your cpu and or gpu if your getting a new mobo?
Do i uninstall anything or a clean reset?
Extreme Exile 1 i know u commented 2months ago but if you did this did your stuff get wiped
I think I know everything but I’m getting scared because I don’t know what to do once the new motherboard and cpu is in? Like how do you install windows 10 again and update all the drivers?
You may not have to install Windows again. Win 10 is actually pretty good with hardware upgrades and so long as you make sure you download the network drivers for your new board on to a USB stick before you switch (WiFi or ethernet so you can get online again) then the OS should be able to download the necessary drivers for you.
@@PCGamesN Thanks do i have to delete any old drivers? before putting in the new cpu and motherboard.
@@ScreaMzbtw did you have to?
Shouldn't you remove certain drivers before shutting down so there is not a conflict at boot up?
One question I want to upgrade my gigabyte motherboard and the cpu is amd a10 series to a Asus b450-f and cpu to and ryzen 7 do you did I well have problems? Thanks
Trust me, buy a better CPU like the ryzen 3 2200g. Only costs about 95€ and is 1000% better then the trash amd10! I own the amd a10-7870k but now bought the ryzen 3 2200g. though, you need a new Motherboard + RAM (DDR4) to use it!
I’m upgrading one of my budget builds
From a asrock b450m hdv r4.0 to a
Asrock b450m pro4 I’ve checked and it’s compatible with everything else in the pc
But is there anything I should know before doing so ?
So what about getting the data off the old setup to the new?
motherboards don't store data. that's on your hard drive(s)
