I am internalizing these beautiful tones and chants and feel that what you two are doing- teaching us daily, will have far reaching effects and beautiful fruits in tribulation times when the Church will need to go underground. Your holy voices will continue to resound in my ears and my heart; I will do my best to recreate these morning and evening prayers. Peace, Jenny 🙏🕊️🩷👼
Exposing this to my then 2.5-year-old "apo" grandchild, she loves the catchiness of Canticle - Daniel 3:57-88, 56. Please continue your holy work, Paul and Fr Nathaniel.
I'm a Ukrainian-Catholic cantor. When I was learning the 8 Resurrectional Tones, a Ruthenian Catholic priest suggested to sing the tones while reading a newspaper. He said it was a great way to internalize the tones without being dependent on the usual text. So, I'm not quite sure if it's sacrilegious to sing the tones during ordinary speech -- as long as you're doing it so you can sing any tone with any liturgical text as the need arises. In any case, I dearly hope that the use of the 8 tones become as widespread as it is in the East. It's such an unfortunate set of events that this crucial part of the Roman Catholic tradition has largely been forgotten. As a side note, perhaps you could consider doing a video series wherein you teach how to sing the 8 tones. For reference, this is one we use as a reference for Ukrainian Byzantine chants: th-cam.com/play/PLO3yXTDEUGwE6Oa2mzLzDgsxc5PLV7PRU.html. It's your call if you want to do something like this, but I figured it'd worth suggesting. May the Lord bless you in your work of reviving this tradition in the lives of the laity.
Have a feeling my friend TheDon may have made an impact on your channel. Though I am liking the new “production” and it does help my learning of the correct way mass flows now a days to days of my grandfather
If this music is the treasure of the Church then the Vatican should prioritize its promulgation over so many other projects. Beautiful chant is a great evangelical tool. There's no excuse for the dearth of resources for chant and the errors in what is published officially. That's why Fr. Weber did what he did for Mass Propers and Veronica Brandt for the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary. People want to sing in the same line as tradition stretching back for centuries, but if the Vatican doesn't provide it we have to do our own research.
Why is Gregorian chant not in English? It's beautiful, but, I would buy any of the CDs to play at home. Only if it's translated into English so I could understand the words then I would buy it. As it stands for now, I listen to Orthodox chant because it is in English.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and singing the Liturgy of the hours for us... insomniacs especially. Both of you have beautiful singing voices. I do not and always apologize to the Lord prior to beginning to sing. Thank you again for the information concerning the volume sets...although I am musically ignorant. The chants are ny favorites the hypnotic sounds takes us deeper into prayer.❤😂🎉
A priest at the local TLM told the story of his discussion with a priest who worked on the new breviary. Despite insisting the new work was better he continued with the old version because he was so accustomed it.
It was a mess which was rushed. Missing 3 psalms was a mistake and changing the whole tradition. "The Liturgy of the Hours" didn't exist before V2. It was the Divine Office.
Word on Fire has a monthly subscription for “The Liturgy of the Hours” It has all of the songs in the back of each months book. I feel blessed to have found you 🙏🏼☦️🙏🏼
I'm still using the 1976 edition of the Hours. It is the third edition I've used since 1964 when we chanted it in latin. I know a new one has been issued since then. At my age it's hard to afford a new loth. I'm pretty sure God recognizes the same psalms good King David sang in a whole other language. Praise Him!
This is excellent info. Thank you. Heads up...Sarcasm in a priest in collar is scandal. Sarcasm is tearing of the flesh. It is veiled anger and disrespect. You are a blessing if you are not sarcastic in our sarcastic world.

I deeply appreciate all your work, definitely the work in transcribing the latín originals to English, is not fruitless...

Are the Revised Grail Psalms approved by the USCCB the same as the Grail Psalms used in the Universalis app?
If you are
going to continue to use the background humming, please make sure that it doesn’t overwhelm your voices. Less is better. 🙏
Hymn names are in the back of Protestant hymn books. A musician can find a hymn tune to match the metere of the hymn they want to sing.
‘All good things are French’…All Great things are Italian!

There's a lot of camp flirting going on too which is sickening 😢
