Gonna be bittersweet if this is their final track before retiring. For one, they haven't done a remix of Idolatrize World, and a Demetori remix of that is my most looked forward remix now.
@@hanbeitakenakasama7735 Honestly want them to take a try at true administrator, it's one of the few along with idolatrize world and Chimata's theme when it comes to final boss themes.
Just checked their website and all And I don't see any sign of them stopping If this was their final song they would have said so So rest easy knowing they'll continue making extremely high quality metal
I feel like this was intended to be their last song before going on hiatus because of how similar this album's border of life is to the one that came out before COVID and COVID and life in general just expedited their break before they could put this album out
Been years since I last listened to Demetori, I think I stopped listening shortly after I graduated High School. Will always be funny to me that I got into extreme metal via touhou project. I may have swapped out my old Demetori CDs in my stereo for the likes of 1914, Путь, Aether Realm and Draconian, but they'll always hold a place in my heart. For those looking for more Demetori-esque music, you want to look for Melo-Death. Insomnium's Anno 1696 and Aether Realm's Tarot are fantastic albums, if you want something more experimental Abstract Void's Back to Reality is very good too.
... okay, definitely noting these ones down to give them a listen later on. (Mostly replying to this comment here so that I can track it down again easily later.) Gonna be interesting to see how I like those!
Found out about Demetori only on 7th of May 2023 from metal cover for Night of Flesh Eaters, today its 30th of March 2024 Found out about this track, I feel like astronaut and big bright star behind me finally reached its end but noticed it only when turned my head back, seeing only magical and colorful cosmic dust around me
Man its been forever since Demetori released an album, I really hope this aint their last one. They’ve been top-tier touhou metal for what, over a decade at this point?
I liked magnum opus more for awhile, but they kinda vanished, then demetori stepped up and didn't just become the best because they were what was left, but actually got better so much that they earned the title. But I can't imagine who is next. qq. Edit: it wasn't until years later that the Demetori consisted of Falcom JDK band's lead guitarist, and his brother as drummer, and Falcom is one of my fave game producers, a complete coincidence on my part. These dudes earned my love beyond my ability to convey beyond text.
I think you unknowingly answered your own point. A full decade went by. Thinking about it they probably started in their early 20s or late teens. After ten years they are nearing 30 or are in their 30s. A lot of creators and groups have just left as is natural
I understand why people say that this sounds like it is Demetori's last song, but I'm very certain it isn't. This is a remix of the original "Peaceful Romancer" song, which is the extra ending theme for Mystic Square. Mystic Square is the last game of Touhou's PC-98 era, so if anything I think of this song as a final goodbye by Demetori towards the PC-98 era because they have remixed quite a bit of PC-98 songs in the past and this must be their final one. That's just my take though.
Fun fact the quote “It’s better to burn out than to fade away” comes from the song “My My, Hey Hey (out of the blue)” by Neil Young. But sadly the phrase made a resurgence due to its appearance in Nirvana Co-founder Kurt Cobain’s suicide note.
This is such a banger to end the album, I really loved the "break" parts all the songs in the album had but the one at 3:34 in this song is SO good and it would have been my favorite song if it wasnt for that Border of Life cover, in any case, we had to wait for a new Demetori album but it didn't disappoint at all, it was god like
when you listen to a lot of touhou songs, you realize a lot of classical/baroque feelings the songs have, with some being straight up in your face. Another thing is that metal instruments works well with classical/baroque music
"Not one step back! If we die we die standing!" -Camba Diaz of the Imperial Fist But in all seriousness, I learned about this song from a game of Warhammer's Horus Heresy card game, it made me associate this song with persevearance and resilience. Also the quote above fits with the name of the song.
I hope I get to see another album in the near future (I believe the gap between last album and this album is like 5-6 years so there’s still hope1!1!!1!1!!1), but if not then I’ll listen to the other songs, because every time I listen to demetori is just as great as the first.
hey why are you guys saying it's possibly their last song ?? Did they ever did an announcement like that ? Man I came here prepared to listen to this banger and now i'm hollow...
It's just a rumor that popped up back when the crossfade demo was dropped. There is no confirmation and I don't believe it at all. Probably comes from how 'final' this track sounds.
Original music is the extra ending theme of the work planned as the final game. Moreover, the atmosphere from 6:54 is unusual. So, there's a rumor that Demetori's work is the last one. Anyway, I hope this isn't the last time.
Ah, not recently at least. I take the time if anything motivates me to do so - but free time keeps growing shorter, so it is unlikely I'll start translating something again unless im 100% motivated =\
I really hope this isn't thier last song, but if it is, it's the best way they could have possibly went out.

I don't think people understand that this song was one of the last in the pc98 era, hence the name of the remix. Demetori is not going anywhere :)
Makes sense. It'd be radical to go out with a bang.
7:15 Those melodies has soo much feel to it 😭
So true! I teared a bit during that part 😢
canon in D jumpscare
I hope this is not their final album. I always feel somewhat like "the conclusion" everytime I hear this song
Awesome ending of the album
Finally we have a new album from Demetori
Demetor - the GOAT of instrumental Touhou Metal.

personal best demetori song.
also it sounds like the last song of the set. so anthemic.
It really is better to go out with a bang, than to simply die out alone, a miserable death that would be.
easily my favorite of their new album. i love melodic demetori, and this is full on that
This sounds like an ending of a story, really gives me so much feels :')
love this part 7:16 it somehow feels like classic music
when you listen to a lot of touhou songs, you realize a lot of classical/baroque feelings the songs have, with some being straight up in your face. Another thing is that metal instruments works well with classical/baroque music
The chord progression sounds quite similar to Pachelbel's Canon in D, so that's probably why.
good to know i'm not the only one who notices the canon in d
that part even starts in d major
Yeah, it is Eternal Paradise composed by ZUN, used for the good ending theme of TH05
Canon in D.
this song really captures the energy of an album ender
This one sounds sad and emotional, i love it...

Such a banger of a song
3:34 is one of my favorite parts. Demetori is just amazing...
At the end of this music was like a goodbye for everyone, so it was so beautiful, especially at this part 8:07
I really like the long demetori songs, the breaks are especially good❤
makes me wish demetori made remixes/covers of other videogame OST
apparently the lead guitarist here is the lead guitarist from falcom jdk
which makes video game osts
don't quote me on this tho
This is my new favourite!
There are very things that made me cry This hard... Godamn... Godamn... My heart...
And here i thought a perfect music didn't exist.
Demetori solos always take you on a wild fucking trip. O_O
