My coin has been stuck In S.F. for almost a week. Not sure what's going on with USPS. They have no clue what their doing to me. Grading mine as PCGS as soon as it comes in.

Hello Numistacker and Heywood... The Royal Mint certainly outdid itself with the creation of these Una and the Lion coins. I ordered a silver one and can't wait to get it!
I'm not sure if you guys know, but the Royal Mint teamed up with Alderney and made a gold 2019 5lb Una and the Lion coin for Alderney UK and this coin is absolutely stunning!! There's hardly any information out there about this coin presently, but it's one for the ages in my opinion!
This coin is the same exact size and weight (1.17 oz of gold) as the original. The reverse on this coin is identical to the original coin produced in 1839 because it was made from the original dies used in 1839. On the reverse the date MDCCXXXIX is identical to the 1839 original as compared to the 2 oz gold coin released by the Royal Mint which has a designation of MMXIX for the year 2019.
In my opinion this coin will be the closest any of us will get to having the original coin, because it is identical in almost every way to the original Una and the Lion. I'm little bitter at myself because APMEX had one listed for basically $6000 USD and by the time I went to add to my cart it was gone!!!

Wish it had been done on a screw press and looked a bit more like the original even with less cameo or depth of reflectivity.
Raw raw raw! NGC will likely require a rediculous oversized slab plus charge extra for the soft proof designation
No just a deep slab not the oversize one

Slightly thicker but maybe not even a thick one as gold takes up less space than silver

It was 180 Pounds at the royal mint. Now it is about 400-500 pounds and graded pf70 600-700 Pounds.

Just received my coin and was disappointed. The capsule was open and now the inside of the capsule and the coin are covered with lint. Too scared to try and clean it. What would be the best way to do this. I was thinking compressed air. What are your thoughts? I want to send it in for grading so should I just have them clean it? The coin is #438. Do nothing. Just send a grading. It often occures. Don't be worry.
I have a number of 2 oz silver I think the best size I collect many 5 oz too in silver I think bigger is better

Hey Numistacker, you should get the original Una and the Lion 5 pound gold coin of Queen Victoria. Any other Una and the Lion is rubbish, a cheap facsimile of the original.
This one is original.
