I've actually come to admire Richard, in a way. For good reason, people see 'pick up artistry' games and immediately get put in a sour mood - pick up artistry tends to lean towards finding the most manipulative ways of having sex with women without respecting them or actually seeking any type of meaningful relationship. While the first game still seemed like a bit of that at times, in an era when men have ever diminishing opportunities to meet women, these games seemed to focus more on the idea of being able to meet women and get that 'first date' out of them while still being respectful, avoiding being creepy, and so on. Given that Richard wrote and made the game with his wife, it seems like his intention from the start was to help more reclusive types get out and meet women (with that in mind, read the comment that Jim Sterling criticises at the start of his video on the original - it doesn't look as bad when you know where it's coming from). And when the options that were meant to be creepy or disrespectful got the game its fame for being over the top and stupid, Richard listened to the feedback and cranked it up to 11 in the sequel. He's a man who wants to empower emasculated men and give the people the entertaining parade they want. And I'll be damned if he hasn't seduced near everyone whose watched this video with his clumsy, awkward charm.
