Though I respect the voice actor for his passion, I felt like Wukong's Chinese voice didn't fit Black Myth's version. The English one actually sounded better. This is me speaking as a Chinese person. This wasn't the 1986 show, yet he sounded too similar. Despite his buff attitude and overall appeal just not pairing well with that voice. I get that he's a monkey and supposed to sound high-pitched, but this is Black Myth's version where some of the characters don't accurately portray those in the novel. Like how are we certain Bajie is a 2ft tall boar and not a 6ft tall boar humanoid? Not every JTTW/Wukong adaptation should be correlated to the 1986 show.
