Awesome! I was looking at Lo-Fi Junky again recently. Hard to get hold of these now. So I was excited to see Happy Nerding had added these FX to this module. Another reason to need an FX Aid. Buying ASAP. Is it easy to do the firmware update on these?
In the 70s/80s, FXs were mostly the domain of guitar pedals, and amps, the main uses being reverb and delay (and Wah pedals too). However, as technology has progressed effects have started to become instruments in their own right. BTW, interesting to see you have FX Aid and the Z5000 in your rack/skiff. Is there one you use more than the other?
I’m guessing that the FX Aid’s firmware needs to be updated by means of a pc or Mac. Although I do have several hundred hp of modular, I only have an ageing Mac, and the only firmware I’ve ever been able to update using that was on the Dreadbox Typhon. Everything else requires a new £1,000 pc, and I’d rather spend the money on gear. Nice fx, but I must perforce pass…
It’s actually really easy to update! You do it using your internet browser to create a wave file, then play the wave file into the module. Should work smoothly on your ageing Mac ☺️

My question is, why dont use the internal Power Unit from the Nifty Case? 🤔 It keeps Space in the Case at least…
Unfortunately I was experiencing issues with the internal power supply and because I bought the case 2nd hand it was covered by any warranty.

hi, updating my FX Aid with the editor and I cant find the 'Freeze Prime Time ' algorithm, do you know if it's called something else?
There’s a few different freeze algorithms, including prime time, in the black ‘shaper’ category:)

IIRC he mentioned in another video that he uses the Z5000 mostly for its delay. So he uses both modules at the same time for different purposes.
