Dude, thanks a ton for this! Huge respect!! Here's an interesting find... While I was playing, I noticed that the crosshair was laggy and choppy, so I started messing with the frame skip options. If frame skip is set to 2, the mouse is much more fluid and responsive. I tried frame skip on 1 and auto, but they were causing frequent audio choppiness. 2 is the sweet spot for my system. The only negative side effect of using frame skip, in my experience, has to do with variable refresh rate. VRR should be disabled or else the screen will have some annoying light flicker. Just wanted to throw this info out there. Hope it helps someone.

I am using a dolphin bar and a wii mote for a light gun. Everything seems to be working well except the gun is not firing where the cross hair is pointed. I can hear it firing, but it's not firing where the cross hair is pointed. I'm so confused.
Yes, I've been meaning to put up a video in reference to using the light guns. I'll try to trouble shoot for you. 1st did you calibrate your Wii remote at the beginning using F2? Just like in the video only using the gun? Also, I have found that if you have multi mouse checked in your settings the attached mouse tends to take over for your firing and can mess up the light gun. Also, if your using just a light gun try unchecking the mouse in settings. You should reboot Mame after making the changes. Let me know if that helps, if not let me know.

Big problem I’m on a laptop and my F2 is the mute button how do I disable this? Every time the menu pops up where I’m supposed to press F2 it just muted my audio 😞
Most laptops use the F keys for multiple functions, generally if you press ALT while hitting F2, you should be able to bypass the mute. Let me know if it works for you.
Never mind I was able to disable secondary functions for the F-keys But my touchpad doesn’t work I assume because since it’s an older emulator it just isn’t compatible with a laptop touch pad but I used WSAD to aim to m my horror this actually made the game quite difficult. But it was still fun I’m literally tearing up just thinking of the memories I had playing this dumb game and how much money I spent to just to come back years later it was amazing thank you 🥹
I have not run into that before but it sounds like one of the dip switch settings somehow got turned on. Try starting the game and hit Tab, go to general settings, I believe and scroll down to the dip switches and see if one, specifically 8 has been turned on. If so turn it off and exit. The try to do the calibration again. Let me know if that fixes it, if not I'll try to problem shoot some more for you.

Hey can you do a tutorial on how to make both players work on the same mouse? Like basically the same buttons and movement. I want to 2 Calibrate on the same mouse. I tried on the 2nd player light gun already, but it doesn't work. I've seen some people on youtube do it and it just seems more fun. If U could help that will be nice and I'll suscribe.

Can you send me a link to a youtube video of what you have seen before. I can tell you how to separate the crosshairs and use them, but it only will work during the current game . The game automatically will recenter player one and two for the following game so that it looks like 1 crosshair, even if you are playing 2 players. Although, I have been able to set it to work in tandem using the keyboard, so in theory one should? be able to get the mouse to work in the same manner, still trying to work it out.

@@ldisey You have a few options, after entering the tab menu, you can try to hit esc twice, once to clear, the second to hopefully return the default. However, this does not always work. In the same token you can always just use the same method and change the inputs back to what they were, However, unless there is a option that I have not seen with the menu to return all to default, your best bet may be just to reload the carnevil program and start over from scratch. Reloading should not take very long. Hope this helps.

When I select gun calibration option its says: u8 switch 8 is on - please turn it off. Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, it should be the same set up using player 2. You will just have to go into the tab menu and assign each mouse to player 1 and 2.
For anybody with an F2 key that does nothing, look for an fn key on your board and hold that first. Took me awhile to get to this menu lol.

So just so I understand what your asking. You want to play as player 1 & 2, using only one mouse to control the the 2 reticles on the screen. Correct?

How Do I Reset My Keybinds?
Hitting esc, then the keys you want ,then enter in the settings tab should work, is that what you mean?
