If you dont know if you like airsoft or not, pick up a $15-20 spring pistol (with your parent's permission and supervision, if you're under 18) and try it out. If you want to actually play airsoft, you need to start out with an electric rifle ($100-200, G&G, Echo1, Lancer tactical are some good starter brands). Pistols are cool, but not a practical gun for playing. I see a lot of beginners make that mistake.
Hofinator7 Thanks! I'm looking at getting a Combat Machine R8-L that comes with a scope, battery, and charger. I want to upgrade it with a 6.03 tightbore barrel.
Awesome. Thats a great starting point. As for pistols, on a budget you cant really go wrong with a WE. I was really surprised by some of their new stuff. Stay away from the M9's and "single stack" 1911's (the hi capa line is ok), they both have magazine issues (M9 has leaking problems, 1911's are not very efficient). But pretty much anything over $90 on a reputable site will be a decent pistol, so pick something you like. Lately I've also seen good things from the Elite Force PPQ (green gas) and 1911 tac (CO2).

Elite Force 1911. Its really the only CO2 powered pistol (besides the cheap plastic non-blowbacks) that you will be able to use on the field.

Sure, but I probably wont be out to Stryker until like mid-March. I'll let you know when I plan on going down there to play.
