It definitely takes commitment and work, so I totally think of it as a career and calling. That mindset helped me to stop justifying my choice to homeschool to people who didn’t respect it as well. The happy perks of it is that every day is bring your kids to work day. 😂Thanks for watching!
Love it!!! I need to get this planner asap, this will be my second year of homeschooling and I feel like I have learned so much in just one year of how my autistic child needs to be taught, I think a planner like this will help me so so much!!!
I did this last year. Our use a Martha Stewart hard cover with metal arc rings. I used the Martha Stewart dividers and a homeschool planner print out from Etsy. I really loved it. This year I went with the Erin Condren teacher planner because they made it less public schooly and it fit my needs as a relaxed homeschooler
You can find rings at Michael's, JoAnn, and Hobby Lobby (as well as others) and they DO come in the BIG size, but the classic size does seem to dominate the inventory. I too chose the BIG because I love being able to print my own pages to add in or add pages given to me with some of our activities we take part in, etc.
The Happy Planner is my favorite, and like you I create and add my own pages. I love the Curriculum to Research page. I need to add that to my planner. I posted my first video on TH-cam last week all about my homeschool planner.
I saw your first vid in the series and you totally sold me on using a Happy Planner or arc system and making it suit your own custom needs! Currently I’m planning to use a Happy Planner Big Teacher Planner combined with The Waldock Way’s Planner so it will fulfill some of the homeschool planning spaces I need, while having a basic general layout I can use for the weekly planning I like doing. I’m curious, did you use a particular paper for your planner paper/printouts? I think I’m going to try a 32lb/100 brightness sheet, I’m really hoping it won’t bleed through or fall apart with usage around the rings!
I used heavyweight (too heavyweight - I think 163 gsm) paper for some of it, and regular weight for others. I think 32 lb is probably perfect. Jessica makes such lovely things! Happy planning!
It looks like you’re really put a lot of effort and it’s a really beautiful planner. I haven’t found a customizable planner I like either. I was debating on agendio. The main reason is because I hate any type of binder. I just find the pages rip out. Maybe I’m too hard on them. Agendio seems fully customizable although it’s expensive. I saw that you can even choose your own color, layout, and titles. I’m obsessed with checkboxes! I also prefer the coil binders they seem so much more sturdy. You’ll have to let me know if you have experience with agendio since you seem like a planner guru.
I am in love with your customized notes pages in your planner this year!! You did such a great job creating flexible pages that will carry you through the year.
You may want to consider buying the larger rings which allow you to add even more pages to your planner. They are available at Michaels and are often on sale. You may not need them, but I thought I would mention them just FYI.
Expander is the largest as far as I know. Now, if you do decide to go with the smaller size at some point I highly recommend the metal rings (when on sale at Michaels)...they are so much nicer than the plastic!
I LOVE your planner!!! I already invested in an Erin Condren for this year but you've got me inspired to build my own next year, for sure!!! Thanks for sharing and for all the great links!
Oh I LOVE how it looks before you even open it. 😂 Love how you’ve put it together. It looks awesome ❤️ I got some ideas on pages I might want to add to mine.
Thanks for sharing the great resources you use. If you haven't already, you should check out Wildwood curriculum. Not much about it on TH-cam but it's a free secular Charlotte Mason based resource.
Honestly, it didn’t end up working for me this year, but it came out beautifully. I’ve transitioned to much less forward planning, so I mainly bullet journal now.
Interesting. I thought that "Mother Culture" is a copyrighted by Karen Andreola. She has the symbol by the name throughout her book. I wonder if this etsy seller at books and acorns might be infringing. But otherwise those are gorgeous pages.
I didn’t know that! Hmm, it’s an interesting question because I see the term everywhere on Charlotte Mason blogs as well. I wonder if she ever trademarked the term. Sleuthing to commence. 🤓
I’m glad you don’t mind! Normally I only do my nails for the “hand” videos, but ever since my No Buy Year and my essentialism kicked in, I’ve been simplifying everything, and that included “things I thing I should do but don’t want to do” like doing my nails for videos. Lol!
@@ProjectHappyHome How convenient! LOL I not only don't mind, I actually prefer it. Natural and simple over masked and fussy. 😉 My own nails have never been painted, except maybe with correction fluid when I was a kid. 😂
We want to be like you when we grow up! "Homeschool is a career"....LOVE THAT! Yes and couldn't agree more.

How do you add the pages? Special hole puncher?

I didn’t realize that they loosened up the format this year! I’ll be checking that out, thanks!

I think I have the extended rings, but do they make them in metal? I couldn’t find any.
@@ProjectHappyHome yes! I have metal extender rings on my big size planner and they sell them for classic and mini also.
@@aimeeernest3038 Thanks!
I love the name Frankenplanner. I loved how you set up everything.
The Happy Planner is my favorite, and like you I create and add my own pages. I love the Curriculum to Research page. I need to add that to my planner. I posted my first video on TH-cam last week all about my homeschool planner.
Welcome to the YT homeschooling community! I’ll check out your video - thanks for letting us know!
Love your set up... I’m like you , I’ve never found a planner that has everything I want or need . Thumbs up to ‘franken planners’ 😉
You are an inspiration to me in all things printed and bound at home! 😂😊🤗
A tip: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Reed Jose Yea, I have been using flixzone for months myself :D

Thanks for watching, my friend!

The Books and Acorns pdfs looks great! Love sharing our planners together in this series💜💜

These are the expander rings - is there a larger size? In any case, I think I need to work on making my planners smaller, lol!

Thanks! I didn’t even know they had metal ones.
Loving these videos, Tanya!
Thanks, Candice - if I had your Excel skills, I’d make my own printables and be cool like that.
I LOVE your planner!!! I already invested in an Erin Condren for this year but you've got me inspired to build my own next year, for sure!!! Thanks for sharing and for all the great links!
Erin Condren was my very first planner for homeschool! Have fun planning - it’s such a beautiful one!
Oh I LOVE how it looks before you even open it. 😂 Love how you’ve put it together. It looks awesome ❤️ I got some ideas on pages I might want to add to mine.
I have been waiting all week for this post 😍
Aww! Thanks!
I just downloaded goodnotes and I am switching to electronic. I like this though. :). I wonder if it can be downloaded into the app?
I’m such a paper type of planner - but I envy those of you who do the digital thing with such ease. Thanks for watching!
Wow..great organisation. Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching!
Where did you get your cover? It looks like leather maybe? Love it!
Also, what type paper do you print your pages on?

I’ve seen them! Thanks for the reminder - I should do a video sharing about their site. It’s pretty awesome if you’re more traditionally CM than I am.
Love it!! ❤️

May I ask what pound of paper do you print on?
I printed this on heavier paper, but I’m not positive. I think 60 lb.
love it! :)
Ugh, why am I finding this video after I bought the teacher version of happy planner.....
You can still modify yours! :)
I know it's random but I just wanted to comment on how pleasantly surprised I am to see your nails au naturel. 🙂
