I love the balance of traditional hand tools and modern electric, even the laser leveler: each serves its best purpose to save time without loss of quality or having more tools than needed, which I find leads to more work than necessary trying to create a purpose for each tool!
You'll have to forgive me but i envy (in a healthy way)your workmanship. I so wish i could do the marvelous job that you do,so precise, and i really admire the fact that you think of your client's needs before you start the task. My hat goes off at you. Hard to find people proud of what they do everything now is made by machines but you you leave that personal touch which indicates that you are a real Master Carpenter. Thoroughly enjoy every single one of your videos. Well done Master Shoyan.!
Shoyan, greetings from Tampa, Florida, USA. You do amazing work. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for creating them, and sharing with the world.
A truly brilliant video of an absolute MASTER Craftsman at work Shoyan. It is SO delightful to be able to sit, relax & watch such exquisite work being performed with such enormous skill, knowledge & care. Cheers, Don from South Australia.
As bad as it might sound, I don't usually laugh out loud when watching videos of Shoyan, But that exhaust filter falling off at 2:20 caught me off guard and made me chuckle, thanks!
I love your videos! Your methods of carpentry are wonderful and full of patience. But most importantly, I hope you and your family are safe and healthy after the 7.5 earthquake. We are very familiar with living in earthquake country being in the San Francisco Bay Area. Be safe! 🤗
The honor it would have been to be allowed to stand apprentice under a master craftsman such as Shoyan, can not be explained in simple words. A pleasure to behold as always.
Lovely joinery work as normal. The house is coming along lovely hope we will get a tour off it when finished. You and your family have a lovely Christmas. And all your subscribers.🎄🎄🎄🎄
Shoyan , I am a carpenter and a long time viewer , I wish to be even as half as good as you are some day, could you please include a video on your tool list and how you bring them to the work site as all your equipment is always so clean
The fact that the fireworks can be seen from the study desk is a cruel act of irony when someone hasn't finished their homework over the summer holiday
Beautiful, as always. I've never seen the large square you use for cross cutting boards - do you know where they could be purchased? I greatly admire your walk and it must be incredibly satisfying to produce such work each day.
Since Shoyan is using so many different tools, is there a way to give a link for the tools in the videos in the description? Since he uses fewer in the videos at a time maybe it can give a few of us an opportunity to buy some like he has, instead of the big videos about all the tools it takes.
Wonderful work! It would be interesting to see how Master Shoyan transports all his equipment to the work site. What kind of vehicle does he use? Would make an interesting short.
I'd like to know the Shoyan opinion on different types of heads of screws From what I've seen, Philips is quite common, but are there different benefits or drawbacks experienced of some other types?
I am really surprised you do not use a track saw? I hv two Makita Track saws and even a 39” track for smaller cuts? One corded one not! U should try one Sir?
Witam, czy mógłby pan powiedzieć jakie narzędzia są stosowane w momencie 1:19. Chodzi o kątownik i linijkę pomiarową. Myślę że precyzyjna nazwa pomoże mi w znalezieniu czegoś podobnego.
Hello (Konichiwa) Showyan san. I enjoy your videos but like many videos out there is is one big problem, if you use text box (subtitles) the words are in white and being a carpenter the wood you use is often very light in colour, so the subtitles cannot or are very hard to read. The music in the background is not needed and drowns out your voice stopping the enjoyment of you videos. I did watch video from around 3 years ago and the subtitles where in white text on black background. This made the video much more easy to follow as you were then talking in Japanese. Your latest videos with you talking in Nihongo are much better as I do not speak very much Japanese, I did notice you said in one you can now use your own voice, if you used program for this I would be very interested in knowing what the program was. Keep going and genki dene
Japanese carpenter: “I feel bad for accidentally sweating too much on a hot building site, I hope I can be forgiven.” American carpenter: “if the gap in your stair tread isn’t bigger than a carpenter’s pencil don’t worry about it, they will just carpet over it anyways.”
Could you please include more of Shoyans short tips and tricks in the videos, it’s amazing to hear all his knowledge.
From what I've been watching the videos, either they've not "revealed" anything new or there's nothing new to be revealed
Maybe OKSEIKO means he/she would like Shoyan to take a moment to explain a concept better. Also: The Tools! I love that skinny carpenter’s square.
So happy to see that the masculine urge to pull the trigger on a power tool the second it enters our hands trascends oceans and cultures
From UK .Hi love sitting with cupa coffee to watch your videos
ありがとう. The work is beautiful, and the wood is fabulous. Truly a Master Craftsman.
i am always amazed at how you make things look so easy when we know they are so difficult to create
thank you for sharing your work with us
Shoyan san, it's such a great pleasure to watch you working. Your attention to detail is wonderful and the quality of your work is truly awesome!

These are the most relaxing videos I watch, I feel like I am drowning in the work being done. Thank you for sharing!
素晴らしい仕事だ。 私はあなたの技術に大きな敬意を抱いている。 あなたは私にとってインスピレーションの源だ。 ありがとう。🙏

I love the “install first” baseboards. Exactly how I did it in my house - the end result is so much more solid looking, somehow.
Thanks
As bad as it might sound, I don't usually laugh out loud when watching videos of Shoyan,
But that exhaust filter falling off at 2:20 caught me off guard and made me chuckle, thanks!
Subarashī. I always enjoy your fine craftsmanship.
Hello from Long Beach, California.
You know it’s going to be a good one when the headband comes out!!.. 😁👍🏻
とても素敵な作品です。
Beautifull. Kinda dangerous work walking on that plank
I love your videos! Your methods of carpentry are wonderful and full of patience. But most importantly, I hope you and your family are safe and healthy after the 7.5 earthquake. We are very familiar with living in earthquake country being in the San Francisco Bay Area. Be safe! 🤗
Using ash wood to build book cases at the moment. Very nice wood to work with.
Tack!
As always, perfect. Have a good Christmas!
You are a true master. Your attention to detail is amazing.

A pleasure to behold as always.
Sei il più grande..... bravo.... è un piacere vedere i tuoi video
Merry Christmas 🎄 🎁 and happy new year 🎊
Beautiful carpentry
Very nice work sir. A master Craftsman.
All this timber seems to be of such a high quality. I wish this was still the case in America.
This is art and master craftsmanship! Thank you for these videos!
You work very carefully to create beautiful wood products

Shoyan San

Brilliant as always 🌟
beautiful work!
Thanks for sharing my son and I have been enjoying your videos for about 2 years thanks. What areas do you usually work on houses?
Beautiful work as always Shoyan San!
Absolutely beautiful work, as always. Thank you for sharing.
Is any of this cost effective? It’s like fine woodwork with carpeting
A lovely job Shoyan, you are a wonderful craftsman. Thank you for the video and may I wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas.👍👍
Shoyan , I am a carpenter and a long time viewer , I wish to be even as half as good as you are some day, could you please include a video on your tool list and how you bring them to the work site as all your equipment is always so clean
Cneck his playlist -there is a full video of the tools he takes to the jobsite, and how they are packed.
A true master. The Japanese care so much about everything they do as a rule. There are plenty of exceptions, I’m sure, but this guy isn’t one of them.
Как вы это делаете? Это потрясающе! Из Сибири с чувством глубокого уважения!
The fact that the fireworks can be seen from the study desk is a cruel act of irony when someone hasn't finished their homework over the summer holiday
In Australia / New Zealand they also use the term bench to refer to a counter top.
Beautiful, as always. I've never seen the large square you use for cross cutting boards - do you know where they could be purchased?

Installing a board for the study desk:
Is there any meaning behind using six nails to bolt it down? Or am I just overthinking it?
Wonderful work! It would be interesting to see how Master Shoyan transports all his equipment to the work site. What kind of vehicle does he use? Would make an interesting short.
Anyone knows where to get such a slim square, as Shoyan is using?
I love it! But how do they finish the drywall inside the bookcase? Or will you install a backer board?
I saw that, as well. I think you are right -a backer board, when he installs the shelves.
Lol I said bench 6 times.. love the videos
I'd like to know the Shoyan opinion on different types of heads of screws
From what I've seen, Philips is quite common, but are there different benefits or drawbacks experienced of some other types?
Смотрю вот на эту чудесную подгонку. Всё тютелька в тютельку. А сезонное колебание влажности не угробит эту красоту?
You're the Bob Ross of carpentry !!! In case you've never heard of him, he was a scenery artist who had an amazing gift of teaching his craft.
Love this comment 😂 totally agree with you
Hope you guys are ok over there due to the earthquake!! I truly hope you all are safe and well!!!
I am really surprised you do not use a track saw? I hv two Makita Track saws and even a 39” track for smaller cuts? One corded one not! U should try one Sir?
Hello ! Where can you buy tools and equipment in Japan to renovate a house ? Thanks 🙏🏻

where can i buy a saw guide like you have
👍
ヘッドバンドが出てきたら、いいものになるって知ってるでしょ
Ah ' finger glue...this is my speciality, spreading with finger', this must be Japanese humor and sarcasm, quality lol
They make 1-yen coins? wow.
As a Westerner, it is strange to have a desk to 350 mm high. We are not suited to sitting on the floor. 🙂
Hi just to say hope you are all okay and the earthquake business will not effect you. Wishing you well
Shoyan, please remove the tape from your hammer handle. It’s such a beautiful tool, tape looks ugly on it.

screws have no shear strength.
Japanese carpenter: “I feel bad for accidentally sweating too much on a hot building site, I hope I can be forgiven.”
American carpenter: “if the gap in your stair tread isn’t bigger than a carpenter’s pencil don’t worry about it, they will just carpet over it anyways.”
@@Spencer-e2v that was an actual quote from a tradesman I apprenticed under. The apprenticeship didn't last long
Wonderful work as usual Shoyan!
👍
