Serbia&Montenegro should have won this year. Hahah Bosnia such a classic entry. Turkey, Greece and Cyprus were really good too. It was so good back in 2004, many great catchy pop songs and beautiful ballads.
@anikristo1 Well, they chose it! People in Macedonia love the song, and all of my Turkish friends love it too. And yeah, one of the best... I still see this song posted on Facebook every once in a while.
Out of all the Eurovisions from 2000-present this one has to be the worst on a technical level. The first being the massive audio issues when it comes to both the main singers and backing vocals. Sometimes you could properly hear them but other times it was extremely difficult to do so. Whether that was an error on the end of the audio operators, the audio hook ups they had or how the arena was equipped there is a major problem and it does ruin a lot of the songs. It's pretty bad when Eurovision 2000-2003 sound BETTER than 2004. Judging by watching those performances again, based off of my experiences as a TV and broadcasting graduate they played the music from the songs directly to the output, rather than from the speakers at the arena. Notice with Spain's and Austria's they sound clear while the vocals aren't as clear. That's my only explanation for why the audio sounds so off and shitty. Another issue came during the semi finals when the Turkish broadcast by mistake cut to break as the Slovenian entry was to preform, thus 0 points went to them. This is an issue on the producers, director and assistant director. Then you have the most dull lower third graphics you could ever imagine. When you think Eurovision you think of lots of colours, flags, and polished graphics for their lower thirds and cutaways. Here there's waaaaaaay too much RED. All red lower thirds which are an eye sore with that plain ass font used for the countries names and numbers. Even the voting graphics suck as every flag had this weird tint to it as if they didn't clean the flags with soap or something. The cutaways look like they were animated in Premiere Pro with keyframes and rather poorly, again so much red at once isn't nice to look at especially when the colour red isn't great to TV graphics due to it's sharpness. If it wasn't for the low quality of songs in 2002 this would be the worst Eurovision to date.
In terms of sound I agree there were some problems but I think it's not noticable to average viewer. I found the issue is really evident in Albania but in their live performance there is no problem it's only in their recap. I think they used footage from rehealsals for recaps and that's the reason why it sounds so weird.
