Zhongli being geo actually makes it EASIER to build your teams because it means he's more versatile without ruining your team reactions. His shield is best in class in the game and lets you forget about dodging all together along with his omnielement defence shred. If you look at any list of most played characters in end game content, he's consistently one of the top chosen ones.

For you definitely go for Zhongli (geo dude) he is more suitable for early gameplay than neuvillette (water dude) Water dude is an op dps but he really shones with an artifact set feom Fontaine, he also is a Fontaine native so you wont be able to ascend him for a while. If you do get zhongli his best weapon is really f2p friendly, you will probably get a lot of them easily from wishes. The weapon is called "black tassel" sont worry about its passive. DO NOT EVER go for his signature weapon it doesn't work with him at all (no-one knows ehy they did this) Definitely use chevreuse (musket lady) over amber however she is beat used with overload (pyro +electro) not melt(cryo+pyro). You can still use her for melt and other pyro reactions you just wont get her main use case working. Her cooldoen is long because she is a healer, it ends almost exactly when the healing effect ends, most healers and supports work like this. Heizou doesn't compare with sucrose as sucrose is just way more useful however he can be considered a lot more fun to use due to his punchy and close ranged playstyle which is taboo for catalysts(only 3 catalysts as of right now are close ranged). Definitely try to pull more on this banner because not only are the 5 stars greatnso are the 4 stars. Fischl (dramatic electro girl) is a top teir character and yao yao(dendro child) is quite useful (not the best but by far not the worst). You can get artifacts by opening chests. There are 4* artifacts in the chests contained inside the Shrines of Depth, so be sure to open Shrines of Depth to get some useful artifacts
Most geo characters are fairly selfish in the sense that they don’t usually play well with other geo characters (not always the case especially with the new geo characters so their are some exceptions). With Zhongli, the earth pillar provides a geo wave that deals dmg but if u have other geo constructs created from other geo characters, the pillar works like a beacon, in which the wave makes contact with those constructs and those constructs in turn also radiate with a geo wave that deals a bit more dmg than the original wave from the pillar. He basically makes those structures into a damage skill for those characters. Of course, this isn’t that great, his main thing is his shield which is dumb op with the resistance to all dmg, scales with hp, reduces resistance of enemies, and buffs further defensive capabilities by a % for each of the 1st 5 seconds enemy attacks dealt to the shield. You can also build him up to use him with his burst which is also op. With a battery u can keep that burst rotating and keep enemies in a semi loop of chunking off large health values and crowd controlling the enemy. Now for Neuvilette, he’s just dumb op, glass cannon style. His skill and burst speeds up his charge attack to an immediate cast charge attack that deals insane dmg. But that’s his main plays type loop, just a 1 hit wonder without much versatility. But who needs versatility with a hydro plasma laser right? He can get staggered out of it easily… unless u have constellation 1 unlocked or… yup! Zhongli, cuz his shield also completely nullifies stagger.

Overload = Electro + Pyro. Not cryo. Cryo + Electro creates superconduct remember? One of worst reaction. You did overload those slimes because electro slimes themselves are electro, you used pyro on them. Try to use fast equip button for equipping artifacts for characters you don't know. It equips most used artifact sets used by other players to said character and best of what you have in inventory.
