Sorry about that. I had some enormous technical problems recording this episode, which is why it was published later than usual. I thought about scrapping the whole thing, but figured that with enough effort I could fix the majority of the problems, which I think I did. Hopefully, this won't happen again.
Soulblazer was such an awesome game. You're the first person I've ever heard reference it. I'm pretty sure I've never met anyone IRL that't ever played it either.
I rented that game every weekend until I finally beat it. Luckily my save game never got erased or messed with. I'll probably check out your LP of it at some point in time.
Since I'm putting Ryu in the front row, he's going to be taking most of the hits, which is why I want the Skull Ring on him. Also, Karn is taking a few times more than normal damage, so more defense wouldn't really help him much.
I personally prefer to put the Sash on Ryu to increase Boomerang Damage, and the Skull ring on Karn, with his high hp and low defense. Of course, I'd also be USING the magic ring, dream ring, and smart ring instead of selling them, so whatever.
My philosophy is that the Life Armor and Dragon Sh/DragonHT have so much more defense then the rest of the party...approximately double what the 2nd best characters get...that the skull ring's+10 is barely a drop in the bucket.
That might not necessarily be true, though. I don't have any real idea how Breath of Fire's algorithms work, but there are some games (like Final Fantasy VI) where the more defense you have, the more difference an extra 10 points will make. Again though, keep in mind I don't know if this is true for BoF.
You think being shrunk is weird in this game? Wait until you reach Mote and Cerl. Things get real weird at that point. Watching this makes me regret some of my actions in my first playthrough. I should've experimented more with items. I never used Marble1's and Marble3's. I assumed they were useless because I played Breath of Fire II first.
4:30 And we get the most useless spell in the game! Seriously, this would've been nice a million years ago, in the underwater volcano, which you have no business returning to now! Thanks a bunch there. Why weren't you in Gant? But then again, Gold Dragon is also pretty useless when you get it :/. 5:25 What? Don't you know the saying "All roads lead to -Rome- Scande" :P? 9:40 Aww man! I use Rub and Hold all the time too! But yeah, it is kinda dirty sounding, hee hee
0:55 Oh shit I forgot that in my current playthrough! Guess I'll have to go back for it :/. Also, I've been wondering the same thing about how snake girls and shoes can mix. Mostly cause I'm a fangirl of both lamias and high heels and I was a bit despondent that they don't seem to mix :/. (Come to think of it, I kinda forgot to get the DragonHT, too. But hey, at least I successfully got my two sexy girls some sexy armor sets at the Flea Market, hee hee
Umm...neither. Spells deal fixed damage in this game, weirdly, only really effected by elemental weaknesses, and Ryu's dragon forms technically use spells to attack. MAG is actually "Magic Defense", which is really kinda shitty in this game cause it only counts if you're defending (as in, you're skipping your turn, basically).
any one know why the flame sh you buy in gust is not only weaker then the flame sh at the top of agua not only that only the hero and ox can equip it everyone but the ladies can equip the good one
It's actually a completely different item. Nothing prevents two items from having the same name but different stats and internal IDs in the item list. It's just generally bad design, so the GBA version renamed the "strong" one (the one you get with Karn in Agua) the LavaSH.
When that lady said "Whoompapa," I thought of the song "Oom Pah Pah" from that Oliver Twist musical.
The MAG stat is partially derived from 25% of your ACT stat, which is what causes that.
HCB: Hey, hey HEY!
Me: Oh dear god, I don't care about your shed, just don't kill me~~~~! *cowers in corner*
Not sure if anybody already answered this but, "Hey Hey Hey" is from the 70s cartoon Fat Albert.
Almost the same exact Roach sprite is used in Breath of Fire 3. In that game however, they are the size of a man.
The shrunk feature is a really cool.
"hey hey hey" is probably from Billy in the King of Fighters series, if not also from other reference~
Bailly evil laugh is best laugh.
"Not as good as bacon, but you take what you can get."
Me: Especially not as good as CRABLEGS!

I love the EvilBailly laugh!
3:40 "hey! hey! hey!" ? Billy Kane from KoF's games ? ^^
B.Rang = Blade Rang?
Also, if you haven't played the PSone Breath of Fire games, your missing out! 3 is my personal favorite. :)
A Clog? Like, the shoe? And Bleu can equip it?!
Oh yeah this Part of the Game! I loved this Idea they brought up!
I am guessing an earlier plan for the game was for the party to return underwater...
Soulblazer was such an awesome game. You're the first person I've ever heard reference it. I'm pretty sure I've never met anyone IRL that't ever played it either.
I have an LP of the game, too. Definitely lots of childhood memories with that game.
I rented that game every weekend until I finally beat it. Luckily my save game never got erased or messed with. I'll probably check out your LP of it at some point in time.
Honey I shrunk the Light Dragon lol
I just checked, and Debo fuses Karn with Gobi and Ox.
Since I'm putting Ryu in the front row, he's going to be taking most of the hits, which is why I want the Skull Ring on him. Also, Karn is taking a few times more than normal damage, so more defense wouldn't really help him much.
"I hate you humans."
'Said to a group of 7 with no Humans among them.'
:|
did not know that.thankyou for letting me know
Hey! Hey! Hey! Stay out of Bleu's shed! ... Nevermind. :P
I find it amusing that HCBailly uses Orkin Man in almost all of his LPs as his video title.
I personally prefer to put the Sash on Ryu to increase Boomerang Damage, and the Skull ring on Karn, with his high hp and low defense.

3:35 lol Fat Albert reference ftw
HCBailly - Doesn't it bother you how out of order the fuses and dragons are through out the game? that always urked my chains...
7:05 HCBailly: Better than a sharp stick in the eye
Me: or a guardian acorn, or even worse the spawn of satan himself...... COCKATRICES!!!!!!
Wasn't expecting a video at that time.
clogs are pretty clunky shoes, and I would imagine they would slow your act stat, instead of boost it!
the start of the new overworld theme reminds me of something from LTTP....
Didn't think I'd see another game where you can RUB furiously on the enemy, until they DIE
That's what I was thinking. I guess she puts it on the end of her tail?
he said that karn takes bonus damage when he's fused, so its like normal hp.
You're so tall HC.
Will you do 13-2, lightning returns, or x and x-2 hd sometime
It's Fat Albert reference @ 03:37 ?

Not to mention how awkward it would be for Deis/Bleu to use... considering she is a lamia sorceress.
Looks like those Rogue guys are Richard Nixon.
1:04 it also increases her magic stat by 2
How does Bleu, a Lamia, wear a clog?
EvilBhaally !? :)
0:55 Oh shit I forgot that in my current playthrough! Guess I'll have to go back for it :/.

One more thing, TH-cam brought it up just now. You have a FF8 episode named the same thing. ^^;
is it the hero attack stat or his magic stat that effects the damage his dragons do
Umm...neither. Spells deal fixed damage in this game, weirdly, only really effected by elemental weaknesses, and Ryu's dragon forms technically use spells to attack. Guess they cut out a future underwater section
How does Bleu wear clogs?
CHEESE FOR EVERYONE!
being small isn't funny. It makes one sad, I would know. :P
any one know why the flame sh you buy in gust is not only weaker then the flame sh at the top of agua not only that only the hero and ox can equip it everyone but the ladies can equip the good one

You know you've got a character with over 400 HP, and you've got him cowering in the back row? Why is that?
12:57 CATs is that you?
all bridge lead to scande
It's actually nine times five.
He's only knowledgeable about pop culture from when he was younger. Neither of those were (Fat Albert was before, Miley Cyrus was after"
HCBailly , you know all this stuff by yourself? or you just read some pro faqs and play? =0
11:20 Chill out Chrona
Strangely Bleu can equip it ....
all right its HCBaily time
Koch roaches;-)
