This is not really true. When you meet a girl on soi 6 that asks you for 2000 baht and refuse to lower the price even if its not very busy and she has not gotten her drink quota then that statement does not really hold true. There is a correlation between price and quality, although even average looking girls sometimes can be convinced they are worth 2000. Yes, you can ask around and find other girls. Yes, you can go to some bars and places and pay less. But in general the asking rpices has gone up. If you dont negotiate the price then you are not likely to get good prices. For people that are there for a limited time it has become harder to get the better prices. So this is not as simple as you want to make it sound like.
Prefer the cheaper hotel, Amethyst was overpriced for what it is, balcony very poor, too small, noisy and no furniture, it's a no for me. Great video Daz, more please.
I'll be flying in to Bangkok in about a week from now, staying there for 2 weeks then gonna spend some time down in Pattaya, I only eat maybe one big meal a day and don't plan on paying for any bar girls, mostly just gonna hang out and enjoy the beach, but your channel has been a huge help for someone that's about to solo travel to Thailand, I figure I can probably make it off 1400b or less a day and still have a good time. Thank you for these videos, they're extremely helpful.
I returned from Pattaya two weeks ago. Everyday i ate from chicken rice store, its delicious and cheap. Also i went to Cheap Charlies , it is good too. I mostly spent time in beer bars, few of them asks 2000 most of them asks 1500 for ST. I don't like to negotiate below 1500 mostly, it's their bread and butter in the end. Like you mentioned in previous video, the key is selecting the girl which "pick ups" you from the street or at least smiles you. That experience is matchless and unique. Before ST i prefer beer for me and 3 - 4 lady drinks for her while playing games mostly, it helps to build a connection with her.
@@reinhardmartin9093 Thank you for your comment, 30 years ago you can have most of the things cheaper than today. They asked these prices, but for me in ideal ST worth 1000, LT worth 2000. Still sometimes you can get these prices today in some conditions.
The bike place is where I got mine in February. Gave me a yamaha 150 for 2100 baht for three weeks. Super nice guy, easy to deal with and no shady stuff going on. Will go there again next year.
My financial mentor would often say the cure for high prices is high prices. Mark my words; one year from now they will be begging for customers and won't be due to the corona virus. People here in America are already tapped out and the chinese are about a year ahead of us into the downturn.
So last year was 4200 baht a day and now 5500 A day. Cost increases were mainly food beer hotel and massage. Bar fine and ST almost identical. Great job again Daz. I just got back from Pattaya this week and these prices are accurate.
I think the hotel , food and drink is all a bargain and similar to even 4 years ago. The majority of the extra difference is 'entertainment'. See how that pans out in the long run, but I think social media and smart phones have changed all that forever. The girls look up Hamburg or Amsterdam etc, whereas before they didn't....... 🙃
Great video Daz, as always. I always use Nature View, right price & lovely staff. As for BF's & ST/LT If they're too dear either negotiate (don't be afraid) or, vote with your feet & tell them they're too dear, there's always a better deal elsewhere. And, please DO NOT hire a motorcycle if you're not an experienced rider, I am & I don't anymore, try buying a copy of the highway code in Pattaya...😁
Excellent video and I love how you break it down the cost to show no matter your budget you can enjoy yourself. I pay so close attention to your videos I notice the woman showing you the second hotel had a IPhone 14/15 pro max which means she is making very very good money. To echo what you said in previous video. Guys don’t become a sponsor…🤙🤙🤙
You really dont need a room more expensive than 1000 bath, plenty of fine hotels for 1000 bath per day or slightly less, with pool. But up to anyone of course, or as the thai say, lae te khun😅 tip: look in the sidestreets of the buakhao, you will find places like D Hotel, D Express, Nalanta, all very good
'The Hideaway' is a total gem of a bar & restaurant. For two consecutive years I have had most evening meals there, as it is so good for the quality & value. I normally found I had a very good meal for about 200THB plus the drink. It is consistent quality and great value. If you just want a nice meal without the hassle and worry of looking around, just go there. My next favourite is 'Cheap Charlies' which is around the corner. It is similar in price and quality, but a little busier in High season. I found a nice hotel room, a meal at one of those two places and I was 70% there. Afterwards it is only a few minutes walk to Buakao, Lenke, Pothole, LK, Tree Town... etc. I am not on commission, but credit where it is due! Up to you.... :) There are plenty of opportunties for nice company not far away aswell.... thats the other 30%.... Lucky Daz living there!
The Amethyst rate requires a long stay, otherwise the “rack rate” which is the rate quoted at the checkin counter, is BHT2500 per day, quite a difference. For low end hotels we can sometimes get lower-than-Agoda walk-in rates, for mid range hotels Agoda is almost always a better deal.
Amethyst is a great value. I booked their largest room with a queen bed last March. Spacious, great staff, and unbeatable location. Looking forward to returning in early December.
I stayed at Amethyst last year and it was great. Friendly staff and perfect location. I brought back 3 "friends" one night and had no joiner fee... just a few smirks lol
Excellent video, one of your very best, with great coverage, particularly of hotels and restaurants, to suit every pocket. The Hideaway has always been one of my favourites, with great food and very reasonable prices. There is also a super restaurant on the opposite side - which opened about 18 months ago - where they bake their own bread and serve homemade cakes etc.
Best priced hotei in that area for about 800/900 baht per night ( maybe cheaper per week rate ) is the P Plus Hotel. Swimming pool, Restaurant, Gym , etc
I just booked 2 weeks for late August, my first time back since pre-Covid. The budget was heavy on the beer(12/day!). If I did that I would not want to have one for the next 2-3 days. I think 4/day would suit me best. But I would substitute soda, coffee, etc during the day. Otherwise, good, and the company can be prorated if you don't want a companion every night. Sometimes company in the bar is good enough, and just costs a few LDs. Add in a bit for baht bus, and misc expenses. I look forward to being back in the land of smiles.

5,500 Baht a day is a good budget. To be on the safe side I advise my monger buddies to budget at least 7,000 Baht per day for a typical monger vacation and 10,000+ Baht a day for expensive vacations that include Walking Street , Agogos, ringing the Bell, etc!

Fantastic video as always Daz, I have looked at your video's for a long time now. What I do find 99% of the time is the more expensive the hotel, the nicer the staff seem to be and certainly trained better in every aspect. Now, I usually stay in medium priced hotels, that's my budget. Some of your guess house video's show this, they really don't want to even tell you the prices and when you ask to see a room you'd swear you were asking them for their life savings. Just my observation. Keep up the good work, Thank You. Oh, and one last thing, could you tell me the address / Soi where you get your reading glasses from I can't remember what video it was. Cheers
I really don't see why you'd spend double on the room...it. isn't that much nicer. Love that 50-69 for beer, nice! I never came when I should have back in the early to late 1990's. Oh well, gotta make do now.
This video makes me cry. My first time in Pattaya was in 1992. Stayed at the Diana Inn, now long since demolished. It was located opposite where Kiss Food & Drink is today. Paid 550 baht for a suite. Where Kiss is today used to be a string of beer bars. They featured cheap beer and very attractive girls in their early 20s. LT was 500 and it really meant unlimited entertainment. If the girl liked you, that is. But it was a much nicer process in those days when the normal procedure was to have some drinks and chat up the girl for an hour or more and then make a suggestion. Ok, well, I was fitter then and had hair. Now, past 60, I guess my wife since many years will allow me to visit again since I'm much more stingy than her and the price levels mentioned are simply ludicrous.
Just think, 32 years from now someone like me will look back at today and think, “man, those were the good ol days! Back in 2024 could get a girl for 3k baht and a great room for 2.5k baht. Now that it’s 2056 I can’t believe it’s 10k baht short time and 20,000 baht LT. man, 2024 was the good ol days for sure. There used to be an entire street there called walking street that’s now just condo buildings.”
My last trips cost me £4K each. Took direct flights from Heathrow, stayed in a 4 star hotel, BFd girls every night. I am an extremely light drinkiner i didnt spend much for my own drinks, i got stick to Thai food.
Thank you very much, Daz, for showing these hoteI options - but none are nice. Much economicaI and nicer is to book one month of condo new apartment in Jomtien and if you have an urge you can take a taxi to meIting pots from there. What do you think of that, Daz?
Nice video, but really struggling to find Amethyst at 1800 baht, looks 2 or 3 times that price, and on separate note another reviewer said there was no wardrobe storage space.
I went to ask in Nature View a few days ago. They gave me the prices and inferred that they were nearly full. Looking at the balconies and swimming pool, i found that difficult to believe in the low season.
I normally stop at the Nature View most of the time and it's pretty good for what you pay for. Thinking of giving Debua a ago end of September this year for 10 days. What do you recon to that, Everything Pattaya??
My experience subject costs: the food courts are also still good. Not for every day but very affordable and good. Insomnia ( you hamsom sexy man, I lie youuu) freelancers take 2000 bath lt. But your beers are 150-180. Gents clubs also good. 1500 st plus 500 room. Clubs like Babylon beautiful ladys.
Just got back from Pattaya yesterday. Spent a lot of research time watching Daz channel to prepare. I found a freelancer at Mixx for 2000LT no barfine and she paid for her own drinks. Obviously no bat fine. Had some much fun she stayed till 10am!
Yes walking street opposite side of insomnia. Its upstairs. One of the few places with a dance floor although a small one. Nice assortment of freelancers. Saw Russian girls there too.
Pattaya/Thailand is still the best bang for buck anywhere. Not talking a 3rd world dump. I can a have a fun night out in Pattaya with the lovely ( and thats with the lovely buying ld's to add to the vibe ) for far less than in the west and the fun is nearly guaranteed. Whether it's a beer bar, or say i-bar ,where you can buy a bottle of Smirnoff for your table for 1000baht+ mixers with ice. Enough for 20+ standard drinks, that you can share and enjoy with others, or not and hand back the bottle, to continue another night. Accomodation is awesome value, considering the possibility's.

Great stuff as always Daz...
Brilliant video, thank you! 👏🏻👏🏻
Actually leaving to Thailand aug 3 for 2 weeks. Staying in Bangkok but want to travel to Pattaya also. Be cool to meet you and learn some stuff
I've stayed at the Amethyst many times. It's a great hotel with a great location
The video is detailed 👌 thanks
Great Video.Thsnks🇬🇧St and Lt had to google it 😅
Hey Daz, I was probably one of the guys who stepped in your nerves. 😁 But is very important for me, to know how much money I have to bring to Pattaya in order to have a lot of fun.
So thank you very much. 🙏
Good video, I was wondering when is high and low season. And best time to go too Pattaya for a fun time .💃🇹🇭👍👍excellent video
High Season is 1 Nov to end of April
Low Season May to end of Oct
Thank you for your information Greatly appreciated. 👍👍
Hi Daz, great vids. Always.
Can you add one more parameter to your reviews.
Are the TVs smart? They have Netflix, Amazon prime usable?
Please.
@@6669-k2f when I visit there, everytime it's for a month at least. So I am gonna watch a movie or two on the platforms I paid for.. Not everyone visits for the first time.. And for a short time.. . And this is a hotel info video. One of many Daz does.

I have already been to many places inland North east etc. and islands of Thailand east and south... Even to the lesser known ones.
I just got back from Pattaya last week, many girls only 100 st and 2000 Lt...... in beer bars
100bht St? Tell me more!
haha 1000.... I wish@@Steven-t9s
100 baht, damn did you travel back to the eighties...
@@Ron-zu3iv😆🤣 corrected already lol 1000
Can you explain St and LT
The difference in price between the luxury and the basic hotel is about 4 lady drinks in the street where you walk! Take your choice..... Personally, I think the extra money for extra comfort is worth it.
5,500 Baht a day is a good budget. To be on the safe side I advise my monger buddies to budget at least 7,000 Baht per day for a typical monger vacation and 10,000+ Baht a day for expensive vacations that include Walking Street , Agogos, ringing the Bell, etc!
Yooooo wait sir 10,000+ baht a day is crazy my guy. What you trying to MONGER THE WHOLE STREET?
I WAS A MONGERER (*FORMER) AIN'T NO WAY YOU BLOWING 300 PER DAY(USD) IF THATS THE CASE MOST GUYS could NEVER AFFORD IT.
Interesting video! Thanks!
I’ve eaten at kiss many, many times it’s great. I always do airbnb and personally think it’s a better value. I’m staying at Centric Sea and it was $20 a day
LT prices must of gone up since I was in Pattaya in February it was 3500 on soi 6 dancing bars 5000
I stay at the Holiday Inn Beach road. Very nice place if you like a little luxury and a great location.
Excellent vlog , your voice is very soothing . 👍
Thank you so much 🙂
Fantastic video as always Daz, I have looked at your video's for a long time now.
Cheers
Excellent video 👍
It's that quiet prices should HALVE! Dont accept their ridiculous rates, always barter! Also, you can get ST for 1000-1200 off TF
What's ST?

I really don't see why you'd spend double on the room...it. isn't that much nicer. Love that 50-69 for beer, nice! I never came when I should have back in the early to late 1990's. Oh well, gotta make do now.
Is that a Gogo LT price ? 5k seems madness for a beer bar price, I was getting LT for 2k in Hua Hin and even Phuket in March!!
Lt more like 2500 depends what floats her boat - Gogo 5-6k
Phuket 2000b for long time, no way
@@Ron-zu3iv I found my 2k little friend at the Otop beer bar complex rather than Bangla. Much cheaper there :) Had to pay a 1K BF though
Found Pattaya in 2014 and even I can't believe how much things have changed
My last trips cost me £4K each. Took direct flights from Heathrow, stayed in a 4 star hotel, BFd girls every night. I am an extremely light drinkiner i didnt spend much for my own drinks, i got stick to Thai food.
You got sick...
Loved the hideaway jumbo fry up
Thank you very much, Daz, for showing these hoteI options - but none are nice. Much economicaI and nicer is to book one month of condo new apartment in Jomtien and if you have an urge you can take a taxi to meIting pots from there. What do you think of that, Daz?
Very helpful Daz
I can see the beauty of staying at a place like Amethyst for a week while trying to find something more permanent
Absolute 'no brainer'. You will sleep so much better with a good bed and good a/c and peace.
I Canada it is $220.00 or more for Short time, long time is a $1000.00 or more and it is in Canadian dollars.
holy f@ck!
Cheaper to fly to Thailand..... people are leaving Canada for good it's suck a nightmare with true/dope can't wait to permanently go
Nice video, but really struggling to find Amethyst at 1800 baht, looks 2 or 3 times that price, and on separate note another reviewer said there was no wardrobe storage space.
Above 60$ usd a day your getting into western prices for a good hotel
I went to ask in Nature View a few days ago. They gave me the prices and inferred that they were nearly full. Looking at the balconies and swimming pool, i found that difficult to believe in the low season.
Because it was local holidays many hotels were full last week with local visitors from BKK
very good information as always could you do video about soi 6 thanks
Ha Ha , you need to look at Patreon, below the video, there are dozens of Soi 6 videos
@hondainsight421 where is Mixx walking street ?
Yes walking street opposite side of insomnia. Its upstairs. One of the few places with a dance floor although a small one. Nice assortment of freelancers. Saw Russian girls there too.
@@hondainsight421 you can get lucky and worth getting her number too
Great video
wow, thanks for the information.
''really not expensive'' ... wellp, basically the food has the same prices as in Europe these days, so yea, its not cheap anymore either.
Factsssssw
as I know most americans just get pension around 3000 USD monthly after retired. How can they get their ends meet at Pattaya?
@@victorliang5315 they can save for longer before they come. They can make more economical choices in Pattaya. Or they can stay home. That's their three options.
@@user-oi9to7ux7k for myself, I will rent a long term condo instead of staying at hotels; I will cook my own meals instead of eating at fancy restaurants; I will drink water instead of beer, just change these three will hit my bugget
@@victorliang5315 $3000 is 107,000 Thai Baht. Hopefully one has retirement savings and not just living month to month on a pension and/or Social Security.
