at 34:37 It's crazy how all of us welders, farmers, heavy equipment operators, and youtube entertainers run in the same circle. This might be the 3rd @DirtPerfect video I've watched, but to mention Larson's @larsonfarms and many @letsdig18 shoutouts... just great! 👌Cheer's from "No Mans Land" Oklahoma!
hahaha!!! Thunder wagon at 35;35 "thunder wagon" from Brians Farming videos and the Millennial Farmer shout outs. just awesome. I'm a subscriber from here on out!
I guess that it depends on one's perspective. Last year, there may not have been equipment for sale because no one could get any new equipment, so they had to hold on to what they had. Now that people are able to secure new equipment, they are unloading the equipment that they were forced to hold on to. There is so much gloom and doom talked about in the media but I certainly don't see it from where I am standing. 🤷♂
33:29 In NJ you can get a special trailer plate and permanently have the abilty to go up to10ft wide as long as the load doesn't exceed the physical dimensions of the trailer. It costs $200 something to register and the MVC want an accord insurance certificate on file. It is a code 23 special trailer. All the stipulations of an oversize load still count, you just have a permanent permit with a one time fee.
That was interesting, from the auction I was bidding in yesterday, some of the "junk" there in Louisville would have brought about double the price, from people who aren't sure what they're bidding on. (Jeepers, some people go crazy at auctions, and pay MORE for worn-out stuff than they could go across the road and buy brand new!) Thanks for mentioning the airplane going over, I thought the machine's hydraulic pump was about to seize up!
@18:53 when I was in law school during the summer vacation I worked at CAT Building K in Montgomery IL bending hydraulic tubes for those excavator and Wheel Loaders. Great job for 3 months of work. The Ingersoll Rand tube bender was a CNC type bender.
Auctions are always interesting, you see some crazy stuff go for more than new. I know projects that involve Federal money have to be Tier 4 compliant and it can be down sizing or older contractors retiring. A tape measure always makes you a contractor until they are hit with the reality of insurance, then you see the equipment returned in a short time.....😁Attending an auction in the middle of snow storm doesn't work either, I won't do that again. And then you have other buyers like Clint who know the current market pretty well......
33:33 deisel creek needs a low-boy for his autocar. Kind of wish he was where your at man, so he could check out those trailers to buy one of them for his truck to haul his large equipment. Matt is looking for one Low-boy trailer, that's all he needs.
That was fun. Thanks for letting us tag along. Us amateurs dream of finding a deal at an auction. Of course, no more than I know, I’d probably be the guy getting burnt lol. I’m hoping to find a fixer up backhoe just to play with on my hills down here in Georgia.
Definitely see a slow turn around here in economy but that always happens this time of year so hopefully it bounces back. One could also argue the used equipment came back because people finally obtained their new equipment after 2-3 years due to the supply chain issues so a lot can finally sell their older stuff.
That ether is just for killing wasps, promise! Similar scenario on a farm auction here. They had so much stuff coming in they had to shut down registration early.
Totally awesome ....Maybe I can meet you guys at an auction sometime when I get ready for my truck trailer and excavator , ship it all in one lump back to Hawaii
Nice Sunday afternoon/ evening episode in the Dirt Perfect world. To bad you didn't get the items you were intersted in. I wonder if Clint picked anything up.
Mike is like a kid in a candy store ,Auction yards are cool,Clint is here to from C&C equipment also checking on equipment ,I'm surprised Matt from Diesel Creek isn't here .
Why do I waste my life cash for dinosaurs! My wife think I am nuts but she rather have chasing equipment then women. Never chase the female NO payback 😄
Mike, I think you should have bought one of those crappy dumpsters, then buy a Air Carbon Arc Gouger, and weld together your own buckets with the help of T.M.B.T.S. I guess there is enough material to make 10 buckets! 😁😁😁😁
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Always interesting to tag along with you at an auction. Will be interesting to see if any of the equipment being forced into retirement in California makes its way east. Saw a recent video of guy looking at trucks in line at the scrap yard supposedly and remarking on all the new engine parts. Supposedly they are forcing any over the road trucks older than 2010 into retirement due to out of date emissions. Wishing you and your family the best.
next time Diesel Creek goes to an auction, you need to go.. LOL. he is always coming back with SOMETHING!! Just wasn't your time to get anything. best to save your money for things you NEED than just things you would like to have..Thank you for taking us along.
Good job Mike you didn’t overpay for anything. There’s always Richie Brothers. And you know there needs to be more old iron or junk for Matt to show up.
Ha Mike I'd love to talk or see the video on the mower you rigged up that you used on that 120, I have a 490 D that's about the same as the 120 did'nt know if you made a video when you put it together.
I just traded in my JD-650 LGP 2020. I absolutely HATED IT due to the Lack of visibility. I now have a 2021 Komotsu D-39 LGP and I love it. More visibility on the blade and more power as well.
That's the only crappy part about living in the north. The salt kills the underbody of cars and trucks. I'm in they hold up way better. Auction have a tape measure u can bid on? Lol
Love the auction trips! Never ceases to amaze me just what you can find there, from salvaged OFF of the junkyard to needing to be ON the junkyard lol.. to a few hidden gems :) Thanks Mike as always
Mike, That is a self loader as you said. That scoop on the front does indeed load that and it does a pretty good job. I am building one of those self propelled dumpers. I am building a prototype and then we are going to start producing them as well as self propelled dump wheelbarrows.
The best way to bid at those auctions is to wait till it's just one person bidding then bid otherwise you fan the flames and the prices shoot up because others want to get in on the bidding.
Better no deal then a bad deal. How much percentage do you have to add (auction cost and tax)? Over here often 12 to 15% auction cost and 21% VAT tax. So you need to add 35% to the bid price. Companies can deduct the VAT but you got to pay it at retrieval.
Not sure how construction is out your way, but new housing has just about came to a full stop here in Idaho. Next two months are looking pretty slow for truss delivery. The giant custom homes are kinda keeping us getting some hours, got a bunch of 68' to take to a house for their indoor gymnasium. Probably going to be three or four loads for that house alone.
Very interesting, shame about the buckets, but that's how it goes sometimes. Hopefully you'll find a couple soon which will be in better condition and you'll get on par a better price. When you see some of the stuff at an auction, I'm surprised what people will pay. Off course not buying anything will lead you into Mrs DP's trap of buying her that Winnebago! 🤗😂🤣
Mike & Clint at the auction all was needed was Logger Wade & Brandon from Dirt , Grain & Steel . That would be a bunch of laughing going on between that bunch .😁😂. Good video Mike . Mack
we repair a lot of machinery in our shop, it's getting to where we have units sitting around waiting parts for over a year in some cases. Mike gives a master class just making off the cuff observations, NICE.................got some real boat anchors in the lot today
I have been seeing a lot of ads to sell your equipment, get top dollar for your equipment they say. If I had equipment that I didn’t use or rarely use now is the time to send it to auction. This doesn’t mean anything about the economy. It’s not a reliable indicator.
Operators and businesses closing up shop with that number of equipment - not good. No dollars spent means more for those 'surprises' in Florida. C&C Equipment will be there :)
Looking at most things there, there is a reason why the previous owner got rid of it. Sometimes there is a diamond in the rough but mostly not from what you showed us.
Thank you for taking the time and making these auction videos because I enjoy watching them and enjoy how you report back afterwards on the pricing. You really hit me in the soft spot when you made it to the old lowboy trailer and mentioned how that’s what you started with and said the phrase “gotta start somewhere” I’m in the same boat in life trying to start out with the little bit that I got hoping to make something out of it and better myself someday without going into debt instantly. God bless you Mike.
I had no clue what the Dumper was or what it was used for. I had to use google lens to learn what it was called and then I watched a few min of vid of one being used it looks like for DP it would be a fun toy but not very useful for the jobs that he does. Very limited compared to what he already has. If DP can get one cheap enough he should give in to his whim and have fun with it.
Hello dirt perfect. I got a question. When you started the video you pan around to the trackhoes. What was the black long arm on the trackhoe was it a hammer of somekind. Please let me know thanks Awesome and amazing videos you do.
I really enjoyed this day at the auction and either companies have massively invested in new equipment or a bunch of folks are downsizing-the quantity of concrete trucks surprised me. A fella getting into the business should spend some time with you before buying equipment as you have obviously have quite a bit of knowledge and first hand experience. 👏🏻👏🏻✌🏻
where is the enabler Chris when he is needed. that mini bus was saying take me to MBTS, SOT and Hoover. those dumpsters really make one question the auction's requirements for what qualifies to get in the gate. Ive seen dumpsters in better shape at the scrap yard
Mike, I really enjoy watching you going to the auctions and yes that sweeper is from. An airport but we all know you'll get those buckets when the time Is right you're like a kid in a candy store at these places
I think one thing that should scare everyone the most is the number of concrete trucks for sale. To me that means that construction is on the decline and the concrete companies are dumping their inventory of equipment so they don't have to carry that overhead through the down time. Very worrisome.

I'd be in trouble at a place like that. Just watching the video I'm thinking 'With a little TLC that one could be nice. And oh, that one looks pretty decent, probably wouldn't take too much to get it back up and running. And someone needs to save that old girl, it might have to be me.' And then I'd be in debt up to my eyeballs and have a lot that looked like the auction lot. 😁
Did the drilling rig sell cheap at 22. Because it was set up with the drill limiting it to one purpose. If so, would make sense to swap it back . I enjoyed all the knowledge and walk around. Neck arthritis got me suffering indoors this winter.
That old Cat is an E series, right? I ran one years ago and even have some videos of it somewhere. I will have to dig them out one day. I was running the high-horse E one day and the owner had already left and I got done for the day and went to shut her down and “Chug...Chug...Chug...” was still barely running. Kept banging the Go lever down but it just wouldn’t die. This was before wireless phones so I was on my own. My truck was a good walk away so I started looking for tools (among the empty beer cans... the owner would drink one light beer for lunch. He wasn’t a drunk) and saw a little crowbar. Now this was the first time I had ever seen a crowbar on a dozer so I figured that was the key. Went down the track to the injector pump and sure enough, the linkage was worn enough that it would pop over center and lock up so the crowbar was to pry it back into place and once I did that I could go home. Turned out that this machine had been owned by a neighbor of mine from a quarter mile up the road. Small world indeed.
Thank you for taking us along and Revealing the final prices on the machines really helped. Thank you. Another great video DP.🎉😊❤

best crack you`ve said for a long time buddie , " wow someone parked this on the wrong side of town" .. I liked it 👏👏👏👏
Thx for bring us along with you at the auction ! 🍺😎
Thanks for the tour sir - enjoyed the experience and education.

Lots of Sunbelt rentals coming up for sale soon on gov planet. A bunch just sold for around 18000

Love the auction videos and what you see at the auction. The exhaust on that D4 was impressive how someone is able to do that. Thanks DP.
Good to see the Auction prices come down a bit compared to the last couple years!
Agree
Good to see you comment @DirtBoss !
Thanks for bringing us along for the auction. Too bad you did not get the buckets you wanted.

That’s experience. Smart to not over pay. Good job. It’s not easy to try and grab something
Thanks for the ride along and pointing out the price that they sold for, much appreciated.
love these auction videos,, good to see whats out there, and what it brings, and the chance of you taking something home too !
Man, what was the deal, with all those cement trucks..? Just happened to be the year to buy a whole new fleet of them.., pretty crazy.
Thank you sir.
I’ve always wanted to go to a machine auction. Thanks take care.
Pete you look like a proud papa showing off his new born, all we need is a cigar. Congrats on a wonderful job.
Get the d7 with the winch. And keep the winch. Work with the 850 and pull out equipment in muck
i agree, were still bidding alot of work right now but im thinking that this year will be ok but next year we better hold on.
Nice Sunday afternoon/ evening episode in the Dirt Perfect world.

Mike is like a kid in a candy store ,Auction yards are cool,Clint is here to from C&C equipment also checking on equipment ,I'm surprised Matt from Diesel Creek isn't here .
This stuff is too new for Matt. Besides, I think he has enough projects waiting and a shop to finish.
Why do I waste my life cash for dinosaurs! My wife think I am nuts but she rather have chasing equipment then women. Never chase the female NO payback 😄
Matt's several states away
Thanks for letting us tag along bro, auctions up your way are always interesting. Safe travels from a very wet NZ
The plywood added on the outside of the dump bed is there to keep the temperature up on loads of blacktop
I always enjoy an auction! Thanks for taking us with you, be well and be safe!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for taking us along to the "junk" auction there looked like some deals there if a guy wanted to fix his equipment before using it each time!
Mike, I think you should have bought one of those crappy dumpsters, then buy a Air Carbon Arc Gouger, and weld together your own buckets with the help of T.M.B.T.S. I guess there is enough material to make 10 buckets! 😁😁😁😁

You starting a second channel Mike? Calling it "Chasing Junk". It's amazing to see what kind of equipment is for sale at these auctions
Lol idea
Great video. Thanks for taking us along. A big thank you for telling us what they sold for.
Those 10' lowboys are common in Alabama and Mississippi. Get a annual permit for it and much easier to pull wider equipment.
Love the auction trips! Never ceases to amaze me just what you can find there, from salvaged OFF of the junkyard to needing to be ON the junkyard lol.. to a few hidden gems :) Thanks Mike as always
Junk yard asap, some others to your back forty for spare parts. I think buyers are shipping them to the islands and central and south America.
The bucket in question I believe is off a gradall. Thanks for taking us along to the sale

Still trying to figure out how you kept all of those sale prices in your head. Love your work btw. Follow you and Chris for a while now.
Love the actions thanks for sharing 👋👍🇨🇦
Great video Mike keeping them coming.
Do you know how much those mini or micro IHI excavators at the 13:02 time mark sold for?
I do not results are online

Looks like some good and some junk there interesting of the amount of equipment there
01/28/23 at Royal auction zephyrhills FL truck and equipment prices reasonable car and pickup prices at or above retail
Yep van there went 62 hundred on line Ford dealership south Florida got one for 46 hundred
Operators and businesses closing up shop with that number of equipment - not good. No dollars spent means more for those 'surprises' in Florida. C&C Equipment will be there :)
Always enjoy the auction videos. 👍
Always nice leaving with your pockets still full.
one thing for sure, high or low priced, that's what each machine was worth that particular day. Scott
Cheers Mike like a good auction and auction video ! Done one in my channel too last year!
Looking at most things there, there is a reason why the previous owner got rid of it. Sometimes there is a diamond in the rough but mostly not from what you showed us.
Check flatbed traffic on interstates. Another real indicator of our "state of construction".
Great video, you killed me 😂 parked it on the wrong side of town 😂😂😂

Enjoyed the trip/auction 👍
Man I remember going to that auction when I was a kid. Good place to get some xtra buckets👍👍
Whats wrong with the C4 that you would want to replace it?
what did 977l bring ? those d7e were a good solid dozer worked on several back in the day

@@DirtPerfect ok thanks

That looks super nice😊
where is the enabler Chris when he is needed. that mini bus was saying take me to MBTS, SOT and Hoover. those dumpsters really make one question the auction's requirements for what qualifies to get in the gate. Ive seen dumpsters in better shape at the scrap yard
That one haulin trailer looks like it was setup for railroad equipment the rails on the neck and up the center
Really enjoyed the trip to the junk auction.
Great video DP I enjoy the videos 🇺🇸
i could be wrong but i believe LC stands for long carriage
Yup
Only halfway through video and I see the buckets. Time to get MBTS to rework or build a custom bucket or two for your machines 🤔 😉 😁😁
Mike, I really enjoy watching you going to the auctions and yes that sweeper is from. An airport but we all know you'll get those buckets when the time Is right you're like a kid in a candy store at these places
Ya, I like these auctions. I don’t know you might have could got a deal on that Winged Horse. LoL
Why doe Wade have a 325?
I tore 2 houses down last year side by side with a 450 Komatsu lol.
Always like to see what is selling at the auctions and what kinda price stuff is selling for, thanks. Another Awesome Video.
Thanks
I think one thing that should scare everyone the most is the number of concrete trucks for sale. To me that means that construction is on the decline and the concrete companies are dumping their inventory of equipment so they don't have to carry that overhead through the down time. Very worrisome.
Or they bought new and just clearing space.
They didn't look to be brand new units. A bunch of the larger companies are upgrading
For what concrete is costing a yard now days redimix plants are probably upgrading the equipment and selling older rigs. I'm sure they make a good profit off a yard of concrete with all the bs fees and everything they can add to the cost per yd. More than likely the companies are downsizing their fleets by auctioning off the older and/or more high maintenance units.
Lol that cat exhaust looks like andrews!!when he got his D7 and was clearing trees and bent his over 😂😂😂

Probably the only thing to take home apart from some engine issues was the 35C, mated to the 210 it would have worked very well.
