Hi Amanda. I just discovered your channel and your hot pad videos. I purchased the yarn and started creating the bobble hot pad. Currently on the second side. Thank you, Melina.
Just gave this pattern a whirl, followed it exactly as described. Worked out perfectly. I used 100 % cotton bernat handicrafter yarn in the colour mistletoe ombré, I picked up 2 balls, 1.5 oz/42.5 g size. This was enough for one double thick potholder with a border. Had some yarn leftover. Easy to follow tutorial and learned how to do the ribbed border which was a new skill. Happy to share I now understand how to do this.
Thought I’d share this with everyone: based on others comments/suggestions regarding doubling the yarn to make a thicker hot pad instead of making two regular ones and crocheting them together. I tried doubling the yarn and found it was important to watch that my tension wasn’t too tight. Same number of stitches across and rows as per pattern described in video resulted in a 9 inch square, with out the ribbed border added. When I did the regular way and added border, it was 9 inches finished. Amazing how the result is different. I used the same size hook for both.
Thank you for sharing! That is cool how the two different results came to be. I haven’t tried doubling up the yarn, but I suppose you can do this either way 😊🧶
@@AmandaCrochetsAmanda, it’s been a year since you made these. Could you update us on how they held up? Have you washed them or gotten them wet? When I saw this video, the yarn was so beautiful, I went straight to Amazon to buy some. But I was heartbroken to learn from the reviews that getting this yarn wet causes the red color BLEED into the white and ruin the whole thing. People are warning not to give them as gifts because of that. So I’m hoping to find out what happened when you washed yours?
@@Vmurph Hello! I haven’t used these as I gave them away as a gift. I can’t say how badly the red color bleeds into the white, but I’m hoping it’s not as bad as others have said. Unfortunately some colors do tend to bleed into others.
@@AmandaCrochets Thank you for responding. I hope they find a way to fix the bleeding issue on the Holly Jolly and re-release it. It’s such a unique colorway. They have so many other colorways that don’t bleed, even with reds in them. I wonder why this one has that issue.
@@Vmurph that’s a mystery to me. I hope they get this issue fixed as well. Maybe if more people bring it up to the company/manufacturer, they’ll fix the problem.
Gorgeous colours! Great tutorial, looks and sounds easy to use. I’ve never used the stitch you described here or added ribbing/ border, looks like I have another project to add to my list of projects to try lol😊🧶
Love ❤love ❤ love ❤ your pattern Amanda, going to try making this as a holiday gift for my friends, thank you 🙏 so much…have a good pleasant days ahead of your coming times 🌹🌹🌹
WARNING! this yarn is beautiful, but I’m heartbroken to learn that it has a fatal flaw. The red color BLEEDS into the white and ruins the whole thing!! If any water gets on it, the potholder or dish towel turns RED. Which means they can never be washed or even have water splashed on it. And worst of all, they can’t be given as gifts, because the recipient will end up with a ruined gift as soon as it gets wet. I learned this by reading the reviews and seeing people’s photos of their ruined projects. They looked like they were soaked in red dye. I’m heartbroken because I wanted to make these potholders and matching dish towels for my whole family.😢

You’re welcome! I’m glad you’re enjoying the hot pad patterns.
I have found it to save sooooo much time to simply double the yarn, then no second crochet. That is of course if you like the back to start with lol.

Thank you, I used your pattern and made placemates . I didn't sew 2 together for the placemates . Just made them longer and wider.
What a great idea!

So pretty!
Thank you! 😊
Cuuuute!!!

Would this not work with two strands rather than making two separate pads and putting together?
You can always double up on the yarn if you’d like. 😊
I just shared my experience regarding doubling up the yarn instead
New to you love this hot pad thank you
You’re welcome!
Can you use two pieces of yarn at the same time so you don’t need to make two pads ?
Yes you can!
Where did you find this yarn? Can’t find it anywhere. Thanks
I found this at Walmart, but I’ve also seen it as Joann fabrics.
Where did you find that color at? Beautiful as usual
You can find this at Joann fabrics or Walmart
I love it but can’t find the yarn anymore! 😢
It's available on Amazon, Walmart, or Joann Fabrics. Here's the link for Joann Fabrics: www.joann.com/lily-sugar-n-cream-cone-yarn/16127342.html
Good pattern, but mercy! The yarn youre using is so thin it looks like thread!😮
Really? It’s a worsted weight cotton yarn. Not thin at all 😊
🤗🤗💚💚❤❤🤍🤍🤗🤗
Thanks!

It’s a shame that this yarn bleeds so much. I hope the manufacturer fixes this issue!
Crafters choice from hobby lobby has some Christmas mixed colors I tested it it doesn't run I'm happy with it
