I'm just starting my journey into leather working... I've been binge watching your videos finding it hard to understand why you don't have thousands of more subscribers. Thank you for sharing your craftsmanship brother...
Hello Road Agent, what is the white foam you've brushed into the leather at 2:20? Is it saddle soap? Why did you do this? Best regards from Germany. Regina
Yes, it's saddle soap. It's somewhat anecdotal, but it helps the swivel knife cut through the leather and the stamps to make better impressions. It also helps the leather retain moisture while tooling. I don't bother with it if I'm doing something simple like stamping a border, but I always do it before heavily tooling an area like this.
Holy chit your talents are awesome!....you are so skilled , you could have done that without the high end Barry King stamps and with a 36 dollar Amazon starter leather working kit :-)
True, but there IS a big difference in the entry-level tools compared to the expensive stuff. The stamp impressions are much cleaner and they should last a lifetime. I have some cheap Craftool stamps that lasted maybe a year before they started bending (I have to straighten them in my arbor press to keep them going).
Nice. Was that full strength black dye or was it thinned out? I like the looks of that technique. What were you rubbing over the tooled section at the end?
Very beautiful carving...
I can watch carving and tooling all day.
Tracing paper tip is genius. Thanks for sharing all the great info!
Great work...love the lifting tool for pedals and leaf.

I love that I am the one that owns this holster
These are the ones I really like. All that texture, heck yeah.
Very much enjoyed this video, a well tooled piece of art
Such beautiful work.
Awesome project!
Beautiful work!
Such beautiful work!
Amazing work!!
What is the soap used to moisten the leather before carving and stamping?
Thanks for watching. It's glycerin saddle soap.
Thank you for sharing your method, your work speaks for itself@@RoadAgentLeather
Hi again, my leather thinner and stamps is not really visible on it, what should I do? for now I used only water on both sizes.
Excellent stuff as always, brother!!
Really nice work ! Did you do your templates for the holster? I'm looking for templates for my holsters.
Tandy leather use to sell holster and belt patterns. Also look up Will Ghormley's website
Great stuff, new to your channel mate. Do you have a preferred seller for the tools?
Beautiful work thanks for the video! Where can I get a template I’d love to try my hand at making one for a pew pew I own. Thanks again!
incredibly nice holster!! What did you use to get the overspray glue off the face and edge of the leather?
It was a felt lining. I use a rubber cement eraser...does great removing glue from leather.
@@RoadAgentLeather thank you!!
what grooving tool is that. I Googled it and I found stitching groovers/bevelers but saw bad reviews. What do you recommend?
It's the Tandy Pro stitching groover.

Thank you very much for your answer. I will try it the next time.
How can people buy your products…none of them are listed on your site
What was the white soapy and foaming substance that you used on your leather at the beginning?
Saddle soap. I explain its' use in my "Hand of God" video. It helps the leather carve and tool easier.

I cut my dyes with alcohol. Gives me more control building up color. It's a small emory board (sandpaper).
Don't know squat about tooling but I never use black dye. It hides all the details that make it unique.
