    Kas’im was trained in the era of lightsaber on lightsaber combat. He also mastered every lightsaber form. That has to give him a HUGE advantage even over the truest force user, Kenobi. Because Kenobi had fought more force users than most, but it was common place in Kas’im’s day.

    Certainly one of your best videos so far if not the best. I agree with Kenobi winning. The duel probably could be similar to the Mustafar duel with Kenobi emerging victorious due to his tactical ingenuity and the Sith-Lords focus on a straight up fight. As always I leave a suggestion and this time it is Revan vs. Darth Vader. Keep up the versus videos you're getting better and better with every video despite your videos never being bad in quality.

    Awesome to see Kasim in a versus. Though I love the character, I think he is going down. Obiwan is too solid defensively to go down to Sims style, at least I think so, and kasim isn't going to break out the force powers. So eventually I see obiwan whittling him down.

    I'd have to disagree here. In the Revenge of the Sith novelization, Obi Wan admitted the only style he was truly proficient in was Soresu, though to be fair Kenobi is very humble by nature. Kas'im on the other hand was a master in all seven forms honing and perfecting his technique his entire life. He designed all the sequences and taught every form to the Academy on Korriban. And despite Lucas explaining that lightsaber dueling techniques reached their zenith in the Clone Wars era, I still think Kas'im outclasses Obi-wan by a decent margin when it comes to swordplay, as he has more options to choose from. Obi Wan doesn't seem that durable to me either. He can take pain but isn't impervious to its effects. Remember when he kicked Griveous and ended up hurting his own leg? But as for Force abilities, that is harder to determine.

    • @SuperWindsage
      @SuperWindsage 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will argue that part of it Is the zany focus Obiwan gets which leads to some handiling him well and others not, in regards to the lightsaber skills I would like to respectfully disagree.Obiwan has extensive experience facing THE Makashi Master in Dooku and experiences against Ventress and Grievious of the same nature, with Grievious and Ventress he has had exstensive experience against Jar Kai and its applications while also having some skill in it of himself.Dejim so from his extensive experience with Anakin and Vader Ataru as he was near a blade Master such as Quigon meaning that even if he is NOT a full Master of Ataru he comes CLOSE.and Soresu. also variety can stun you as much as anything else.Obiwans durability feats are as much if not more about Will power and emotional fortitude as physical damage.anyway Kas'im doesn't have nearly the experience Obiwan does in battlefield combat.oh as a teacher he is more directly involved and focused developing others but not other masters and Obiwan had just as much opportunity if not more to spar against and refine his skills against all forms and his abilities in those fomrs to a passible degree that works well together for decades.Kas'im is the better lightsaber INSTRUCTOR. not the better duelist/fighter.Still I respect your opinion.

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, Anakin Vader, he managed to defeat Maul, but if you actually look at what happened, you can clearly see how much bullshit that was.
      We have Maul, a highly trained, disciplined, and skilled Sith assassin, simply watching Kenobi force jump over him, force pull Qui-Gon's lightsaber to him mid-air, land behind him, and proceed to cut him in half. All the while, Maul still has his lightsaber ignited, yet all he does is watch Kenobi do all this. If 'I' could have reacted better, that tells you it's just shitty fight choreography on part of the film.
      Kenobi defeated Maul, but he was OBVIOUSLY not Maul's better or even equal.

    • @anakinvader9120
      @anakinvader9120 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Anakin Vader, I'm so confused. You said he also defeated Anakin, then right after, said, nobody else could, not even Obi-Wan. Were you not talking about Obi-Wan in your first sentence? O.o
      And for the record, Kenobi beat PSV / ROTS Vader through "tactical advantage" and PSV being too cocky to heed that. PSV was canonically above Kenobi at this point, both as a force-user and a duelist. In the novelization, Kenobi is barely surviving through the fight.
      Basically, in a normal fight, on even ground, PSV would win a vast majority of the time.
      Basically, a lot of people just overrate Kenobi.

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Pretty much the only characters who would be able to best Kas'im in a pure lightsaber and force aug. fight are those who are of comparable skill, but have superior force aug. So for instance, Yoda and Sidious would likely beat Kas'im, even without use of active force powers. Through force aug. they are likely simply too fast for Kas'im. I would agree however that, without force aug. (basically without the Force at all), and just lightsabers, Kas'im would be essentially unbeatable.

    I'd recommend Darth Maul vs Spiderman. BatInTheSun is doing a match up between the two. Their videos are voted based and tend to not look into facts. It'd be a good way to gain subscribers as Maul should easily take Spiderman although the fanboyism will likely save him. BatInTheSun tends to depict inaccurate portrayals off the characters. I mean, they have Darth Vader using Force lighting. I can sorta understand if it's a casual person who's not going to think twice, but their channel has many match ups that would have very different outcomes had they formed a verdict based out of facts, not bias.

    People in the comments say that Kenobi shouldn’t have toilet the lightsaber edge Bc kassim has more forms he mastered, but they forget the skill gap in the forms, they say he can fall back on form 2 because dooku beat him before his prime with it, they forget that dooku is a ton better with form 2 than kassim ever was and Kenobi still stonewalled him, kenobi defence his way higher than kassim ss mastery of form. 3, Kenobi a mastery of form 4 is comparable. Kassim has no way at breaking Kenobi defence and Kenobi will wittle him down eventually killing him, mastering to many can spread yourself thin and he doesn’t have enough skill with a single technique to break Kenobi guard,

  • @henrylewin7677
    @henrylewin7677 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kas’im is the FAR superior duellist - quoting “a well trained lightsaber duellist can defeat someone more powerful in the force” Kas’im is no slouch with the force either.
    He defeated Darth Bane, masterfully using two lightsabers which he kept secret and was indeed flawless. Bane was able to bring the building down on him to kill him, after realising that he would die in open combat.
    Kenobi has near inconsequential force abilities in comparison to Darth Bane and would not have such a raw power advantage against Kas’im.
    I think they’re in the same league (Kas’im and kenobi) though it would be a walk in the park in open lightsaber combat for Kas’im - who would have been more than a match for mace windu, yoda and douku in 1-1 lightsaber combat, only beating Douku out of the three who had similar level force ability. IMO

      I also think Kas'im would win, but I should clarify, it's generally accepted that no other Star Wars character mastered Soresu to the extent Kenobi did. So, while Kas'im mastered all 7 forms, including Soresu, his level of mastery was likely not quite to the degree of Kenobi's.

      @luke greensaber Gemini Anakin accomplished this feat in a comic book of the Clone Wars miniseries:

      Kenobi accomplished the blaster feat in Revenge of the Sith:
      "His blade flicked out and the durasteel beam parted, fresh-cut edges glowing white hot, and a great hulk of ship-sized cargo container that the beam had been supporting tore free of its other supports with shrieks of anguished metal and crashed down upon all three MagnaGuards with the finality of a meteor strike.
      Two, three, and four.
      Oh, thought Obi-Wan with detached approval. That worked out rather well.
      Only ten thousand to go. Give or take. An instant later the Force had him hurtling through a storm of blasterfire as every combat droid in the control center opened up on him at once." - Revenge of the Sith.

    The problem with Kasim is himself has not pursued lightsaber abilities in order to master dueling. To achieve supreme mastery of all 7 forms, past what almost anyone has ever done, is a very hard feat for a species that doesn't live as long as Yoda or as gifted as Luke or Sidious.
    As a result, he has few offensive tk abilities and only in a sole lightsaber battle can he win.

      It was late and awhile ago. Basically, Kasi'im completely focused on dueling and as a result his force abilities suffered.

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not true. Now, one could make the argument that he'd be BETTER with the Force had he turned some of his attention over the years away from dueling, and toward study in the Force. However, you can't really say or infer that he was at all weak in the Force. Though Kas'im's rarely shown using the Force outside of force augmentation, when he force pushed Bane, it's admitted it would have either killed or seriously injured Bane had Bane not thrown up a protective barrier at the last second. That's a damn powerful force push. Kas'im was also shown to use force barrier and be completely unharmed by a force wave that would have pulverized his insides, and that brought down The Temple of The Ancients.
      Kas'im may not have a wide variety of force powers at his disposal, but he is certainly still very strong in the Force.

    Gonna call it before I watch. My boy Kenobi is gonna take this one. While kasim is an excellent Blade master and am excellent match up, his blade based focus is a bad match up. I can't think of many pure swordsmen who can take prime kenobi. The way I see it, Lenovo has excellent offence and perfect defence, while Kasim, probably sports better offense but worse defence, if only cause he is an aggressive duelist. In the end Kenobi will outlast.

      No way. Obi-Wan has a more well-rounded and versatile skillset compared to Kas'im. Plus, Obi-Wan's absolute mastery of Soresu is nothing short of impenetrable. His mastery of other fighting forms such as Form I Shii-Cho, Form IV Ataru, Form V Shien, Form VI, Niman, Jar Kai dual blade fencing, the unarmed combat form Tae Jitsu, and use of Sokan battle strategies are enough to outclass and destroy Kas'im. The Twi-Lek blademaster isn't really bringing anything that Obi-Wan's already gone up against.

    Agreed. Kaasim may be a master in all forms of lightsaber combat but Obi Wan's mastery of Soresu should be superior to Kas'im's own. Obi Wan would not be able to dominate him with TK as Kas'im has resisted TK blasts from Bane but the same goes for Kas'im in regards to Obi Wan. After that it simply comes down to physical feats which Obi Wan takes decisively though we can assume Kas'im wouldn't be totally outclassed since he was keeping up with PoD Bane. As you say in the video Obi Wan would simply outlast him until he finds an opening and defeats the blademaster.
    Edit: I have to say I disagree with your force analysis. I could concede the point that Kas'im has superior force defenses but his offensive output is not on par with Kenobi's imo.

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, in the novel, it's explained Bane would have either died or been seriously injured by Kas'im's force push (I'm not remembering EXACTLY, which is why I said it's ONE of those).

    • @davidwilliams2169
      @davidwilliams2169 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Master in all forms being the deciding factor. Dooku was a master of Makashi and proficient in most other forms and beat Kenobi decisively! He was not considered a master in ALL forms of lightsaber combat as Kas'im was. Though I'd put Dooku up there with the few duelists who could compete with Kas'im. Plus, Kas'im had a force push to be reckoned with! Kenobi constantly fell victim to the force push...... Kas'im would have most likely been able to kill him just through that feat alone.
      Obviously this is all my own opinion, but anyone who could almost kill BANE with a force push definitely is not lacking........ I would however give Kenobi the edge with force abilities as his are more refined and not as limited in application as Kas'im's. Kas'im still is a fair bit stronger in the force than Kenobi. Having more to utilize doesn't necessarily mean he's be stronger or a victor if it come down to a straight up battle using force abilities.

    • @TinyTorah
      @TinyTorah 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely agree overall, however I should point out that Drallig, who is commonly believed as a master of all 7 forms, lost quite decisively to PSV (pre-suit Vader), who was only a master of Djem So. So, while in many cases, mastery of all 7 forms is an advantage, it doesn't necessitate victory over someone who hasn't mastered all 7 forms.

    • @davidwilliams2169

    Straight up lighsaber fight has kas'im as the victor, kenobi was a master of soresu, but Anakin surpassed him in lightsaber combat at the time of ROTS, the only reason he lost the duel (in my opinion) was Anakin's inner conflict, and kenobi's environmental awareness. He was a master of soresu and (despite you saying the masters of form 3 were basically unbeatable) he lost to Dooku. Kas'im did fall back on alternate tactics when he did end up pushed....... But answer me, who wouldn't fall back on a different skill set or method of combat when the technique being used isn't working?
    The Twi'lek species is often (though I may be mistaken in this) considered more nimble and agile than humans, so you kind of got to take that into account on top of the force augmentation....... I'm not discounting Kenobi's undeniable resilience in this though. The physicality I'd still give to Kas'im.
    Force abilities is where I'd give kenobi the edge, he's not as strong in the force as some such as Anakin, but his use of the force is where he does excel, he is incredibly gifted and clever in how he uses the force over a brute strength approach as used by some.

    • @davidwilliams2169
      @davidwilliams2169 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should have probably listened to the whole thing before commenting...... But how exactly is Kas'im unable to penetrate kenobi's defense with a force push? Everyone force pushes Kenobi! There's younglings who probably managed it! ........ Oh yeah, my verdict is DEFINITELY Kas'im as the victor.

    • @jakealter5504
      @jakealter5504 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shane Christensen kun might be a more skilled duelist but in a duel between Sith Lords skill with a lightsaber doesn't guarantee victory if your opponent is stronger in the force. Bane proved that against Kasim BEFORE he attained his full potential. Kun was a master of form 6 and utilized a double bladed lightsaber. By the time of DoE Darth Bane was a master in forms 3,5, and 7 and he had experience against saber staffs (his duels with Sirak, Kasim, and his own apprentice). As far as force power goes, Bane was one of the strongest Sith Lords to ever live and his force powers show it. He was able to demolish force barriers with little effort, was able to bring down the Rakatan temple on Lehon with a single force blast, was extremely strong WITHOUT force augmentation (which he could still use for even more power), and his force lightning was powerful enough to instantly kill opponents on contact. Bane also had an extremely high pain tolerance

      Kun wasnt an average saberstaff user and even if he was he was no slouch as a force user plus i don't think Bane 'Mastered' form 7 he just used it and about Kasim Bane didn't actually kill him the falling ceiling did Bane was losing before that

      +Shane Christensen true but it was Bane's force push that caused the temple to collapse. Bane would also likely use Kun's impatience against him in battle

      @Wes Bradley-Taubner the reason Obi wan beat Anakin was Anakin's extreme aggression and recklessness. Luke fights in a far different manner. He is more tactically viable than Anakin, and also a better force wielder. Luke will avoid falling into the same trap as Anakin. While Obi Wan will put up a hell of a fight, Luke will eventually pummel him into submission with TK. I'd give the fight to Luke 5.1/10

    It's depressing to me how many people overrate Kenobi and underrate Kas'im, and this video doesn't help the matter.
    7:31, wrong. Masters of Soresu were said to be NIGH invincible.
    At best, Kenobi was able to match Dooku blade for blade momentarily, though certainly not in force aug. or the force in general, and Kenobi matched PSV/ROTS Vader, though the later example is called into question, as the ROTS novelization has PSV constantly pushing Kenobi through their extended duel, and the fight choreographer for The Prequels states how Anakin/Vader at this time has surpassed Kenobi as a duelist.
    Kas'im however is this good:
    Bane defeats Sirak so quickly, it took the onlookers (who were comprised of fellow students of the Korriban Academy, meaning fellow force-sensitives who had higher senses than those of normal human capability) a moment to register what had happened. And around this time, Bane considered the notion of fighting Kas'im for real, a foolish one; that he was no match for Kas'im.
    If one knows just how impressive Sirak and Bane were at this time, then one also knows how greatly this speaks of Kas'im.
    Kenobi was a master of Soresu, perhaps the best Soresu practitioner ever, and skilled in other forms, mainly Ataru and Jar'Kai. Kas'im was an absolute master of all 7 forms, and while Kenobi has been considered to be among the very best duelists in his time, Kas'im was considered to be the very best duelist of his respective time, and possibly the greatest swordsman that had ever lived up until that point. That accolade pretty effectively places him above Kenobi's league, and more on Dooku's.
    17:17, not just penetrate his defenses. Pretty sure the novel says, or at least suggests that Kas'im's force push would have killed Bane, or at least left him severely injured, had he not thrown up a protective barrier at the last second.
    I'd give Kas'im the edge in the Force as well... only because Kenobi's force defense against other force-users has shown time and time again that its lacking. I don't however see this fight likely ending with the Force however, though if it did, it would be Kas'im as the victor.
    20:25, you say Kas'im may attempt a force push against Kenobi, but that Kenobi's staunch defense would render it pretty much ineffective... while showing a clip of Maul effectively force pushing Kenobi. I don't even need to say anything here to counter what you've said because you already countered it yourself. XD
    Lol. Sorry, but Kenobi simply wouldn't win. You say Kenobi would unleash his own offense against Kas'im, and eventually strike a killing blow. Kenobi's offense, while still impressive, is not as good as his defense. How exactly, if Bane couldn't get past Kas'im's guard, do you see Obi-Wan achieving this? Kas'im is simply the better duelist. His accolades and feats speak for themselves.

      TinyTorah bruh you need logic kasim has mastered all formes kenobi is a nightmare with his form 3 he can contend with anikain and beat him his mind was his strongest muscle in regular combat kasim would win but obi wan has tactics kasim does not.

      TinyTorah and now your under estimating Kenobi his defences were never truelly penetrated by anyone in a lightsaber duel during the clone wars and at his height deflected up 20 strikes a second coming from all angles which is physically impossible pretty much this feat alone speaks of how impenetrable his defences were he was stated THE Master of Soresu... Dooku could not puncture his defences and he used a form specialised in sabre to sabre combat and he was the best known user in the star wars universe he knows all weakness of the forms and yet still couldn't break through instead relying on his power in the force which affected his force reserves when Anakin began pressing his assault

      @kingzseventh7017 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TinyTorah And against Anakin he made Anakin push harder and harder and lead the fight to a position of his advantage Anakin could not breach his defences and Anakin was considered a better duellist doesnt mean he was as their engagement proved otherwise...
