You know what gets me about this chapter? This is a public highway Falcon is driving on. It has tons of twists and turns for no reason. There's no exit ramps, and it ends at an unfinished bridge. Which makes me wonder, if you could slow down enough to keep pace with the other cars in this chapter, what happens when they reach the end? Do they just drive off the bridge and die?
I don't really understand you, on this stage in particular it is straight up optimal to go for max acceleration, it makes it easier if you play casually because you lose far less speed by bumping into walls and makes you obviously accelerate faster, which both make the mission quite a bit easier. And if you're really good you can use snaking which is much much faster and also only works on max acceleration, and CGN also did snaking runs of this chapter... So really max accel is the way to go and here he's just attempting the max speed category which is just different but also more popular due to being less punishing than snaking

You can't slow down, otherwise you will automatically die.
