@TiberiousGreene on the one hand I agree. On the other I shudder to think what that would do to performance every time you opened the build menu. 😦
Another really nice build one this i would suggest for internal doors is the red barn walls for internal doors where you put wall paper on as they are flush with the door frame so you dont run the risk of floating door frames.
Good thinking. On reflection there are a couple of wall types that would do the job well there. I'll have to look into that when I next jump in.
That skylight was definitely a happy accident.
Why have I never thought of reversing the walls for the outside to change the texture 😕

I vaguely recall seeing those. They'd break up the texture nicely I think. 🤔 I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

May I ask how did you place the jars and cans in your kitchen at 15:56?
Technically speaking they're shooting targets. They came as part of a twitch bundle last year, so I just placed them like anything other floor decoration item.
Sadly they're no longer available. It's possible they might reappear at some point but I couldn't say for sure.

Hey, DX, great work! I do like that light coloured brickwork; very smart. The design of the garage next to the main house works well - it just fits right.
Cheers Jawa! I'm pretty pleased with this one. It's nice to do something less scrappy once in a while. ☺️ The proportions are a bit odd in places but I think that's probably unavoidable.
This is a great build. I like what you did with the floating walls upstairs to make the staircase really narrow at the top. Great feature. The glass ceiling section in the garage was a nice improvisation. There is a way to do ramps using slanted roof pieces btw. You have to go underground but it looks great. I can send you a link to a video that shows how to do it if you like.
Hmm. I can imagine how you could do that. I'm not sure it's something I'd be in a rush to do though. In the end having that area out front was pretty useful.
Yeah I think having the area in front of the garage is nice too. I only mentioned it since you made a comment about not having any ramps. 😁
I was thinking about how you'd get a car in there pre war. It was a cool idea. Definitely a clever solution to the problem.
I've seen some people set the new fortune teller vendor on a rug and merge it down so only the car sticks above the rug. By the car I mean the one thats on top of the vendor. It actually looks incredible.

It wasn't too bad tbh. A bit of trial and error with the structure and the kitchen took a while but otherwise it was pretty smooth sailing. ☺️
At 7:18 when you say to put the walls back the ones inside next to the stairs don't wanna double up for me
Just a guess but it might be a build order thing. I sometimes find that you need to put the inside wall (I think) in first. It could also be other adjoining walls that are interfering, but I'd start there.
For the nice and easy fix for the roof, it’s not letting me spin the angled roof around in that direction and it’s angled outside the house. What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like it's snapping to the wrong wall piece... The "reversed" outer wall rather than the inner one. I'd try using the flamethrower trap to destroy both, then just repair the inner one. It should snap to that no problem then and you can repair the outer wall afterwards.
the rails were sticking through the door frame probably why you couldnt add a door

Do you have the Bookshelf stash box? That would work well there maybe, otherwise it really look terrific as normal with your builds.
I do have that, though I always seem to forget about it! I remembered it after I'd finished. Pity really as its a pretty great addition.

I did debate putting them up there tbh, but I also wanted something in the stairwell, rather than having it empty. On reflection putting them actually under the stairs might have been a better call though. 🤔

How do you get the double switch to work for your garage? I tried doing what other videos showed and it doesn’t work for me
In this case it's not a double one. It's kind of tough to explain but basically go generator>switch>door. If you wire the switches independently of each other that should work I think. It's probably best for momentary switches like pressure plates though.

What is the purpose to double up the walls?
It lets you put wallpaper on both sides. The external textures are fine, but it's nice to change up the look occasionally. ☺️

I'm going to say it. This isn't a very good build. The stairs cutting into the wall and the space of the door ways is just 1 issue of many many issues.. won't even talk about the decorations.
This build is just.... mid.
I particularly like the kitchen and garage as well as it's ceiling light.
Yet another awesome and cozy build, I love it. I did have one question though. What bundle or pack does the washer and dryer come in? Been trying to find out but have been coming up empty, not sure if they were a past scoreboard item or something like that.
I think they were a Scoreboard item actually. It was a while ago and they were bringing out a bunch of household themed stuff.

No problem! ☺️ Tough to guess on this one whether they'll reappear at some point. I guess if enough people ask they might eventually, but the things that have come back up on the atomic shop so far have tended to be bigger, (for want of a better word), items. 🤞

Much as I enjoy building scrappy camps it's nice to mix things up once in a while!
Your garage looks almost like the one I built next to my house at the whitesprings. I put in a loft for storage and I used slanted glass roofs coming off the doorway for my skylight. The kitchen has a lot of work merging things into the counter as well. Unfortunately I don't have clean kitchen stuff so it still looks messy. I also have a flush stair case leading to the second floor instead of using the gantry stairs. All in all I'd say the two builds are fairly comparable.
