A few years ago we lost power and were without for over 3 days. This was also in the winter months, with temps in the house down to 30’s. We survived, head to the mall during the day or evening. Use your car to charge electronics such as phone and tablets. Wear layered clothing, hats and gloves in the house and get under some blankets. It’s not fun but it’s survivable. The utility crews are spending long hours and enduring the weather to get things up and running.
This is not the worst wind storm I've been through in puget sound, but it is the worst response ever. There are places without cell, power, or internet. Since fiber phone lines are rare, they couldn't contact emergency services if they needed to. Absolutely irresponsible government agencies getting us to this place.
Maybe people should plant SMALL TREES. The bigger ones are subject to the wind and the bigger they are, the bigger the forces that hit the tree and big trees can't resist. Also, trees should be trimmed away from power lines, telephone and cable lines and so forth.
People don’t realize what it takes to get power up and running. Often the roads are not passable so they need to clear the way first. Some times the damage to the lines and poles requires extensive work. I think the power companies and their employees do a remarkable job especially considering some of the weather conditions they work in. Give them a break they do the best they can do under the amount of outages they have to contend with and often can be pretty dangerous.
I was all with ya until you said use flashlights instead of candles. People dont have power. Candles are the safest way they can have light if their phones are dead and they have no other flashlights.
I have my granddaughter bcz of no power. Their Renton area just got power back this morning. Downed trees and power lines are everywhere. Our neighbors had trees on their houses and cars.

Thankful to all the crews working in these conditions to restore our power. God bless everyone during this time
Thank you Linemen/Linewomen everywhere.

Ever wonder if it was done on purpose?
How terribly fragile our existence..
We depend on electricity for everything, and the work crews are our heros.
Big trees by your house are nice till they fall on your house.

Right. Works might not get you to heaven, but a bit of work and foresight MIGHT save the roof of your house.
Work from home or JUST STAY HOME.

Sorry to hear of the loss of power in colder temps, downed trees, damage, deaths. Lot of work to do. Hmmm... not as bad as N.C. so, feel blessed.
God help N.C. , they need all the help they can get.
I was told that the residents of the seniors living here would get power back at midnite; we got power at 4:00PM Great :)

Surely the last 4 years taught you to use your common sense over any official advice ALWAYS

Good to hear you're alive and well, along with your granddaughter ! Hopefully, we're through the worst.
I’d be more worried about crime people are going to take advantage of that…….
and I bet people who can't get to work are loosing their jobs on top of it.
And no gas!
Why no gas? First I've heard of that.
Is this the year we force PSE to bury power lines or nah? A few more seasons of this stuff first? Alright then.
Use your solar panels
All you people complaining about Washington go back to your own state nobody told you to come here
Lol !
Putin did it.😂
😂😂😂
smart a** !
💔
A several hour power outage shouldn't be a problem to anyone that prepares
Several hour? How about several days for some! And still out!
It's several days not hours.
I had a friend who lived on Mercer Island. She and her husband were very snooty and referred to the area as “The Island”. 🤷🏼♂️🙄🤷🏼♂️🙄
arent they all
Your not from Washington why don't you stay in your own state?
@ ……I lived at Alki Beach, West Seattle for 24 YEARS until I came to my senses, and got the HELL out of the rainy, cold, grey PNW back in 2019.
