Excellent video! Today there have been many infomercials from Tesla TH-camrs promoting Jeda’s new built in to the lid ssd drive. Thank you so much for not making one of those today.
@@mitchellbarnow1709 Agreed. It was probably well co-ordinated with the manufacturer to create a viral effect. It looks really cool but $145 seems a little pricey. Hope you are doing well.

2:45 you might want to make note that this is only for specific Tesla models after a specific year. I have a Tesla Model S 2017 on hardware 2.0, and there is no option to format the USB drive.

If you want to delete in bulk, you can plug your USB into a computer. If you want to delete all videos, you can go to your car's safety and security and format the USB drive. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Shiva, I started watching you videos now and they are great. Keep up the good work and I have lot to learn from your videos since I am a new Tesla Model Y owner
Hi Ram, thank you very much for watching my videos. Congratulations on your new Model Y! That is super exciting. Please reach out anytime with any questions or video requests. Thank you.
So let’s say you witness a crash and you want to send the drivers the video you captured, do they need a computer to plug in the stick to, or can you send it to your phone then share it from your phone
Hello there, currently Tesla doesn't support transmission of videos directly to your phone. That is a feature that Elon has teased for a while now and hopefully will come with the next big update. What I do is use my phone's camera to record a video of the sentry mode playing on the Tesla screen and send that video to the other driver/police.
Yes, you can turn on the sentry mode while you are still inside by locking your doors. It does sometime trigger the alarm if the car is locked and you try to open the doors from the inside but not always. Thanks for watching my video.
Hello, no at this time you can only delete those events one at a time from the car. If you use a computer, you can certainly mass delete those events by days, time etc. Thank you.
If I click save dash cam footage, it will be saved permanently on my thumb drive (I assume). If I don’t click save dash cam footage, I can still review said footage, but it will eventually be over-written, correct?
Shiva, this video was posted a year ago. Is there any updates where you can view live notifications on your phone ? New Tesla owner here. I don’t even get any notifications on my phone.
Hi, Nice video and very helpful for newbies. I have a silly question, is there an easy way to delete multiple sentry events instead of one at a time? I have a lot and it’s time consuming. I was hoping for a “delete all” button. Is it an issue if I don’t have hard drive? I don’t think I got a flash drive with the car either. Do I need to purchase one? I’m currently reviewing and deleting daily. Thanks for your help!
Hello, thanks for watching my video. I did a video recently that covers an in-depth orientation for new owners. Let me know if that video has the autopilot demo you are looking for. If not, I will be happy to make a video on the basic autopilot. Here is the video link: th-cam.com/video/ePHmC3jAXIY/w-d-xo.html
I just took delivery of my Model Y but I’m confused. Right now I have to turn Sentry Mode on each time I exit my vehicle. Is there a way for Sentry Mode to turn on automatically whenever I park?
Hello, sorry it took me a couple days to respond. Yes, the automatic sentry setting is in safety and security, sentry mode. You can check/uncheck the locations on the right. Once you toggle it, it should always be on.
Hi Keith, you can unplug the flash drive and load the video on your computer and email the footage. If you have a newer 2021 model3/y the flash drive will be in the glovebox. Tesla is supposedly working on a feature to have these footages available on the Tesla app on your phone, which would make it very easy to share. I don't know much details on how/when Tesla will roll that out :)
Hi Shiva, do you think it's safe to hardwire a blackvue 2 channel dash camera to the new Model Y for parking mode without any issues to the 12v battery or errors throwing up?
Hi Shiva great video thank you for sharing. On the last software update tesla is now recording the footage of the century mode like you say panic mode. Since they are being recorded and saved in that vehicle do you recommend me going to buy a USB or SSD card even though that they are saved in the vehicle? I do not think I will be downloading this footage but if something were to it’s already saved in the vehicle, will it be safe forever?
Hi Roberto, which software update version is that? I haven't yet heard about Tesla automatically recording all sentry events not just the panic events. I would still strongly recommend you purchase a SSD/USB because Tesla's internal memory is really small and you could risk loosing critical sentry event data. Having your own drive is also helpful in an event where you might have to share security footage with the police etc. Thanks for watching my video, I really appreciate your time.
Hi. Do you know how to save the entire recent video (60 min) in a viewer mode? So it will not overwritten during the next drive. E.g. when I was watching my recent video in viewer mode I found a interesting moment what I need on 31st min but there is no way to save it. So during the next 60mins drive it will be overwritten. This only solution I see is to unplug USB drive. Any other ideas?
Love what you do and thank you again for our content. I'm waiting for my 2021 Model Y and want to use SSD for storage. How would I go about doing that? Just plug it into the glove box where the stick is located? Please help me with this and thanks as always for what you do.
Hi Michael, thank you very much for the support. I am happy to hear that my videos have been helpful. Yes, you can just stick the SSD drive where Tesla has the flash drive in your glove box. If you don't already have a SSD drive, I have a link for the one I use in the description of this video. You also need an adapter (linked as well). Thanks again and please reach out at any time with any questions.
My dashcam is saving everything. I get into my car, it begins recording and automatically saves the footage and fill up my USB. One time a took a 2hr road trip and it saves the whole thing. How can I fix this? Service dept didnt know what to do.
That is very interesting. Have you tried using a different flash drive? One of my viewer had a similar issue and I told him to completely disconnect the car power and put everything back on. His issue of the car recording 250 events at a time were fixed but might not work for everyone. If you want to try that method (again might not fix it) you can check my Yoke installation video where I show how to disconnect both 12V and the high voltage power supply. Thanks.
Are sentry videos automatically recorded and you just have to download them? I understand sentry mode is for panic events, but what about dashcam? Is dashcam activated every time I drive?
Hi Isaiah, thanks for watching my video. Yes, the dashcam is automatically activated every time you drive. Check to make sure the dashcam icon has red circle to indicate it is recording. However, the footage is not always saved, so if you want to save a footage you have to either honk or press on the dashcam icon to save a 30 sec clip. The sentry mode should automatically record and store in your flash drive every time there is a motion near your car.
@@ShivaSapkota My dashcam saves every recording even when I dont honk and don't press the camera icon. It records me getting into my car, me driving, and me getting out of the car and saves that as one clip. Do you know how I can stop this? It tells me that 2 events were recorded but there is nothing in the USB.
My dashcam won’t show up when I’m on park Not even a grayed out dashcam icon It was working fine yesterday but today there’s nothing And also, when I click on the “i” for sentry events it doesn’t take me anywhere
Hi Walter, thanks for watching my video. Sorry to hear that you are having dashcam issues. A few things you can try. First, try the hard reboot (press on brake and both scroll wheels and hold it for a few seconds). The display will go black and when you see the Tesla logo appear, you can let go of the buttons and brakes. If that doesn't fix the issue, try reformatting your flash drive through the car (safety & security, sentry mode, format). If that doesn't fix, try reformatting your drive using a computer but uncheck the "quick reformat" so it does a full formatting. If that fails, then you might have to wait until a new software update unfortunately or call Tesla for assistance.
Very informative video. I've been driving my Model 3 for about a month now. It came with a USB drive hidden in the glovebox. My question is, do I need to create a folder for it in order to save footage of incidents while driving or when the car is parked somewhere in a shopping center? When it comes to panic event which you mentioned towards the end of your video, how do I access it from Tesla's internal memory to save it? And are panic events automatically saved to the drive that was provided by Tesla which is in the glovebox? I've been doing a lot of research and couldn't find any articles. I hope you can help. Thanks!
