Ok, the flash always on for these bubbly cameras (as I call them) makes so much more sense now. I was confused why they had dual shutters like the box cameras, but the flash never disables. Thank you for that tid bit of information!

You are insanely talented! Keep making these please. If only there was a way to make these mass accessible, it would unlock a whole new level of accessibility for 609 series cameras (which a lot of newcomers struggle with the focus)
Speaking of Impulse, I noticed that there are test points that are hidden by rubber grip surface, so something like Retrospekt's Power Pack is a possible for this model.

I would love to see a more in deep video of this mod specially doing it from the whale bodies to the 90s model, i have my original one step close up 90s camera that dosent work properly anymore that i would like to revive and upgrade
This is so great! I had a similar idea a while back, but scrapped it when I discovered the port on the face plate for the electric eye had different dimensions on the 636 AF vs the 636 close up. Did you have to modify that all?

You might've just made the greatest Polaroid 600 ever. I do have a semi related question though. Do the newer i-Type cameras like the Polaroid Now also use the wink-auto focus system, or is it something completely different?
Is that how the Polaroid One works with its auto focus? Or a more basic version? I recently bought two of them still sealed in there plastic packaging and at first I thought it was defective out of the packaging. So I took the second one out of its packaging and it was doing the same thing. Let me explain. With the flash on or off you press the shutter button it wasn’t doing anything. But after playing with it for a while I realized you just need to to hold down that shutter button and it seems to be doing some calculations for a second or two or long three no matter the light levels and then finally a photo. Just wondering almost zero information about that camera. I also two brand new Polaroid One600 Ultra I managed to get and they don’t give that delay like they are thinking. They almost look like identical cameras except for a few things.
@@WhoIsSerafin I believe the ONE series use a similar system - in at least SOME of its models. Technical info on those cameras is unobtainable at the moment though. No schematics or documents are publicly available
@@virus7g7 to be honest i think it's already publicly available But honestly it's not very helpful for the actual mod itself - and not even I can be bothered totally dismantling the shutter on one of these things. @@theinstantcameraguy That's fair, But I always found that (at least for me) even if a manual doesn't help me repair a camera and or shutter (even though that's what it should be doing haha) I always found that it sheds light on how it works and helps me understand it better. I recently got a old copy "Repair Manual" for a Yashica camera hoping that it would shed some light and information on the shutter that I had to do some work on. Sadly, but later gratefully, upon arrival I soon learned that it was a repair manual only for the cds light meter system for the camera. You mean the little grey button under the flash housing like on the 660AF? Or the secondary trigger that usually creates a flash-less photo On this type of AF camera, there is no under-flash button, and the secondary trigger also fires the flash I THINK that perhaps secondary trigger in this instance forces infinity focus... But flash/exposure mode does not alter

With a few exceptions, it's by far the most ugly and uninspired period of design humanity has ever come up with
