If you no longer go for a gap that is there, you are no longer a racing driver. If you go for a gap that is no longer there, you are in the esteemed company of Pastor Maldonado and SuperGT
I love it on GT 6. Many victories there. Funny cause in that version the downhill switchbacks have an open section not covered in grass or wall. In GT super it's now grass. I used to make many passes in that open asphalt area.
really? it's easy for me - just gotta get the first turn in correct and then it's a pretty fluid series of switchbacks all the way down. hard braking on the last hard left trips me up sometimes though.
The Bathurst 12 hour this year was an amazing watch, the race winning overtake of the Aston by the Porsche coming out of the elbow was amazing. Definitely check out the highlights.
TheRedHawk422 That dive was so ballsy by Campbell, he just touched him but no mallace intended. The gap opened and he knew he had to go for it. The Aston had the speed but Campbell had the Porsche Cup experience.
Interestingly, Campbell pulled the exact same move vs. the M6 as SuperGT did against the Beetle. And there was no penalty given. But yes. It was a great race Sunday
Wollestar BMW were warned about their defending earlier but Mostert admitted it was great driving after the race. Bathurst produces some great racing but is so unforgiving.
@@SH3RIFF187 it is true that BMW was defending very hard. For me the moves from Campbell on the M6 and the Aston were really great driving skills and those scenes are what makes motor racing so interesting. What I really liked about the 12h race was that even though there was the 4h green phase, still 6 cars were within 30 seconds and the gaps were closing. Maybe even without the safetycar before the end the Porsche might have won. Campbell really pushed his car to the limits.
Wollestar For sure, that Porsche was pushed hard and to its very limit. Full tank of fuel and fresh tyres made the difference. The AMG’s really suffered with tyres. Do you know why BMW didn’t take the M8 out? Would it have been too big for the mountain?
What a remarkable turnaround, I remember your first stream with the racing rig and you couldn't do a single lap around Barrrrthurst without binning in and now you are up at the top racing for wins. AMAZING. I hope you continue to hone your skills and manage to qualify for Finals when the proper leagues start!
The best FIA intros on the market! Love the videos as always. By the way, I got my first pole position the other day on race 2, was quite surprised with myself
The more I think about it the more amazing the commentary is, the way you manage to not spoil things that are about to happen with intonation even though you already know what's gonna happen.
The fun of the track aside... I love how SuperGT's Baa..thust gives the track a new feel... This track has slightly different versions in different games but the fun stays the same...
After I finished work, i grab some meal, sat to the table and saw you uploaded a video. Was really nice watching your videos. They are always funny with great learning excpierience. Thank you sir. You made me eat my whole meal lol
Super gt. I dont think ive ever commented on any of your videos but ive watched loads.. I think that pass at around 7:55 was one of your best. Quick thinking evasive maneuver straight through the gap.. I dont think youre agressive enough sometimes. Love your work. Cheers
If you ever go to Baaathurst GT, you witness what a monster of a circuit it is. The dipper section of the track is akin to the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. The games nor anything you see on TV about this track do it justice. But then similar could have said about the nuances of a lot of other circuits around the world. Thanks for sharing this content.
0:45 it felt like he was trying to use the force on the fence. With the music and the way he was holding out his hand, kind of had a Star Wars vibe to it.
At 3:00, I think the Merc wasn't driving awful as you said. I think you tapped him slightly on the kink before The Chase, as you can see from the irregular and sudden movement on the radar. I think it might have caused his wheels to dip into the grass and compromised his braking. I know you're getting better with the wheel, but please remember to stay the humble Super GT I know and love.
nope, that was supergt there. he jumped the curb which caused his car to ever so slightly slide over into the rear quarterpanel of the beetle, which rotated the beetle on top of him and pushed him onto the grass. its bathurst though so shit happens. i wont try to hold it against him too much lmao. lets not let fanboyism blind us to facts like it does to lots of other streamers
Exactly the same thing happend at 12h of Bathurst on sunday. The Porsche 911 RSR overtook a BMW M6 at exactly the same point. The Porsche didn't get any penalty for it and SuperGT shouldn't as well.
Your second Bathurst race was really good; you came out of the shadow realm to overtake that Spanish driver who then allowed himself to fall into the shadow realm not once, but twice (if you include the time after you pitted and he had caught up to you again).
A Mercedes is a BMW for rich people I mean, they're both expensive and they're both great at the track but Mercedes carries the "rich" brand, and BMW carries the "sporty" brand Kind of like the Audi and Lamborghini relationship now. Theyre pretty much the same, Audi is a bit more stable, Lambos a bit fastrr
I would have liked to race the proper Manufacturing cars for Bathurst which were the Holden and Ford V8 Supercars, but the cars in GT Sport are quite fun to drive and each bring their own experience. Great video and can't wait to see what's next
At 2m55s When you passed the Benz you went slightly wide and unintentionally bumped him into the grass, he then didn't have enough braking grip to slow down before the next turn. Your fault, not his. Surprised you didn't get a penalty. Overall, great video and congrats on the second race!
That lap 2 incident with the Beetle looked just like the one with Campbell's Porsche and Mostert's BMW at Bathurst last weekend. Same incident was under review but Porsche just came out on top.
On closer review, the Beetle could have moved over a bit and slowed. The Beetle was the slowest car too because there was another Lexus behind Super GT.
Fantastic video! Just a question, do you think it's worth going with a high-end racing wheel setup? Is it substantially better than just getting an entry level racing wheel/pedals?
re: wheel vs controller, one thing you perhaps didn't consider is the amount of time you've invested in each. You've been perfecting your driving on the controller for years. But after a couple weeks on the wheel, you're at least as fast. The learning curve is worth a mention.
The last corner to the long straight you should revisit.... You have this in many of you're races where you don't get a good launch on the straight. Thumbs up btw :-)
Quick question. I am assuming you are commenting a replay. If that's the case, can we have Chase Cam back in the replay? Chase Cam feels sad, needs some love and attention.
That intro was like something from a Nintendo title... I don't get the classes here, a racing version of the recent VW Beetle (VW won't manufacture the Beetle anymore now I heard) up against GT3 spec cars etc?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the back straight is called "Conrod Straight" whereas "The Chase" is just the name of the bend at the bottom. It used to be one big straight to the final turn but they added the bend to slow people down. Ironically it's now one of the fastest corners in the world
Let me give you a tip, Steve. There is a borough in New Jersey, US, which is called Lake-hurst. There is also a track in Forza Horizon 4 called Lakehurst Forest. So logically Bathurst should be pronounced as BAT-HURST. At least I think so ))
The Supra's front end was sticking out, Super knocked it into the flank of the Mustang which caused him to oversteer taking the Supra with him.. It was a tough situation. I guess it was Super's fault but they should've been driving better.
It's not a proper Bathurst race unless some wallrides the entire way down the mountain

Always enjoy the integration of the replay cam, adds another dimension to the race coverage especially now since your switch to bonnet cam

3:54 that was completely the Beetle's fault, quite frankly.

That's the most savage SuperGT lunge I have ever seen.
