Crayola calls this item an airbrush, but is it really? I also remember that Jazza tested Copic airbrush and an old crayola airbrush system. I will link his video as well because it's great art experiments!

hi, im such a big fan!! ITS SO FUNNY HOW CRAYOLA FOLLOWED YOU AND YOU HATE SOME OF THEIR PRODUCTS 😂😂❤️❤️
OMI GERD HOI JACKIEEE ^^
Notice me SENPAI! Georgie sculpture please. Also love your vids. P.S. you're doing it wrong saltshaker, sincerely a trash panda. Oh no, my sharp pointy thing flew and scared the beJesus out of my relatives.
I ordered the purple potions journal, a companion journal and the side quest cards. 💜 I can't wait to try them out. Thank you.
Jackie, you are the only TH-camr that I like who isn't taking a long break!!I really appreciate you!!
After all the reviews Jackie has done, I'm surprised that Crayola actually followed her. 😂
Hahaha me too 🤣
I know 😉
They probably thought free publicity noice

Not to be a naysayer, but markers just simply don't work on all materials. They either don't dry or they bleed/stain what they are being used on. Markers are not paints, and that is where this kit fails outside of just using them on paper (although canvas would be an interesting test). I do think, however, that there may have been other factors in this case. What if the scents (because one of the scented markers was actually used, not one of the markers in the kit) cause the the marker not to dry on the sculpture? What if it was used on one of the Crayola clays that is meant for the markers? Don't get me wrong, this is my "customizer/artist" side mostly pondering the ever wondering debate on what supplies work with each other.
OKAY CRAYLOLA EMPLOYEE!!!
HAHAHA I'm totally joking.
I agree. The markers wasn't intended for this material, just as I wouldn't been able to use my watercolor paints on clay (unless using a watercolor ground first)
A Kids Marker, which is obviously water based, won‘t turn into a high quality acrylic ink like Liquitex just by spraying it onto a figurine.
I agree not all paints work on all surfaces for too many reasons that I can properly address.
But nevertheless, what I'm going to talk about is the airbrushes themselves.
I know, Jesus, is he pontificating again?
And sadly, the answer is "Yes".
There are two types of hobby airbrushes, singla and dual action.
The primary difference is that a dual-action brush gives you much greater control over the area you with to paint.
Both types will apply a line that's, let's say, 5mm wide and a circle of 5mm diameter.
The dual action brush will allow you to paint a line of, oh, let's say 1mm wide and 1mm in diameter.
Take the exact dimensions as a guesstimate and depending on the brand of the airbrush, size of the tip, and distance from the object to be painted will differ.
There are many good videos displaying the care and usage of an airbrush on many scale model related construction sites as well on some artistic painters websites.
They're worth growing for those interested.
But as a simple guide, single action brushes, similar to the ones Jackie is using are good for blocking in colors, while a double action brush, where you are able to adjust both the airflow from the brush, allowing for greater control, of the color density and the area to be painted.
Whereas the single action gun adjusts for the area to be covered
@@brianjohnson2488 thank you thank you! I always wanted to know what the difference was. And what they should be used for.
I sure hope Crayola has taken consideration into Jackie's ratings of their products and that this air brush system will work.... but I'm not holding my hopes up too high
I’m surprised that they haven’t hired her as a consultant yet lol Come on Crayola! 🤣
But Jackie, it's not paint, it's a marker. How can you compare it to the paint you normally use on clay?
But what if it were a paint marker?
I could have predicted the Crayola color wouldn't stick to your sculpture. Crayola Markers are watercolor markers, and watercolor markers don't stick to non-porous surfaces. Great video, though!
What I was thinking here. You wouldn't compare oil paint and water color paint. There two different mediums designed to do different things. Don't judge a fish for its tree climbing abilities and all.
Exactly! It’s water based ink, not even water based paint! You can’t expect it to perform like paint just because it’s being sprayed like paint
This is comment I was looking for, 100% agree
@@madiha_affan it's a popular saying I didn't know there was a book for it.
I feel like the marketing team at Crayola went:
"Hey guys, Jackie haven't posted about us in a while now... let's release something that'll get her attention."
"It's not finished though."
"It doesn't matter - we'll re-release after she's reviewed it, so we know what to change. Toss in whatever we have available."
"But Tony, we haven't even started-"
"Just do it! Now."
"Okay, okay, alright... keep your pants on, geeze."
That is the FUNNIEST thing I've seen in awhile
Tony forgot to tell the guy to make sure a paintbrush is in there too. Whether it's needed or not. Lol
To be fair , it’s a marker airbrush, not a paint one. Comparing the sculptures isn’t fair, but it could probably work fine on canvas or paper art
that, and also, I feel like Crayola called it airbrush because that is what the effect is usually called. That, and they couldn´t call it Blow pen because you don´t do any blowing
agreed
Yeah, it'd be interesting if she tried it with paint or alcohol markers though
Agreed!
That’s very true! I mean, I never have used an airbrush, rarely use paint, so I want to use that as a defense of having no clue.
But wouldn’t the jezzo help with that? I’ve never used it.
I am not so sure that the comparison between the airbrush and crayola pen was fair.... I mean you are putting a water based marker onto a clay sculpture. It would come off easier than the airbrush because airbrush uses acrylic and water based things wouldn't stick onto it. It's like putting watercolor on the clay sculpture and expecting it to dry it might stain it though. I think if it was to be compared there would have to be some sort of acrylic pen that would be able to be used with the crayola one. Either way still love the video and love you showing how crayola compares :) Funny how they followed you!
I’m currently shopping for art and crafts stuff for my niece and this channel helped. Love your content Jackie!❤️
Imagine Crayola takes Jackie seriously and hires her as a consultant…. That would save their company 🤣
If that actually happened That would be crazy 🤣🤣
That would be funny
With all her immature, lame, sexual jokes... I hope not!!
@@ellef2468 why are you here then?
Lol
I think Crapola...erm sorry...Crayola, should take Jackie's offer seriously, because Jackie has reviewed hundreds of kits and knows Crayola's flaws well. All joking aside, Jackie would be such a bonus to them. She could improve their sales and up their game so easily. They could do worse than consider it, that's for sure.
Jackie, this video was great fun to watch. I especially enjoyed the little characters you created, and the Crayola monster's face on the palm of your hand made me chuckle too. Thank you for the video. God bless you 😀
I like The idea that somewhere at crayons headquarters there is a room with an oval table in the middle and a bunch of people in fancy black suits sitting around it intently watching one of jackies video and writing notes on every little detail and suggestion she mentions.
Yes but their suggestions would be. "Let's do the opposite of what she said!".
"But...that would cost too much money!"
Ok, I'm not saying, Jackie, you're doing it wrong, but I don't think the airbrush is to blame for the ink not sticking to a sculpture. Airbrushes are used to paint with all kinds of inks and paints, not all intended for sculpture painting. Many artists use airbrush to paint on a flat surface (like a canvas or the side of a truck) with stencils, and I think that is what this toy was going for, on a kids' scale. The stencils look pretty small, so one pump probably would easily cover one stencil, and the stencils could be used to colour those pictures, too.
But they really should have added the text, "Includes everything you need - except the crab legs".
Personally as a little kid I would so not be deterred by the constant pumping to keep it going and would have a ton of fun with this, however it’s not super accessible for all kids since not everyone has the same abilities. Just my thoughts! The video was great ☺️
I mean, the product wasn’t made for sculptures so I don’t think it’s fair to rate it as an airbrush for sculptures. The target audience is young children and the intended use is for paper. I do appreciate that you tried it on the sculptures, but rating it as if it was made for them just wasn’t the best choice in my opinion
Airbrushes are so expensive when I look for them so I am excited to see How a $20 one would turn out! Also, wow! Crayola followed there worst enemy and best friend. The same person- Jackie.
Frenemy
I grew up with Crayola and never knew their kits were so inconsistent in thought and quality. I do like to chop and/or grate the crayons and mix them polymer clay. Depending on if you use a translucent or a solid color you can get different looks.
This is video is right on time. I woke up sad and hurt and frustrated. I laid in bed and cried for hours and then I got the notification and my day instantly got just a little bit better. Thank you Jackie
Sending you virtual hugs, I hope you get better as soon as possible 💙
Sorry you're going through hard times. Hang in there and I hope something wonderful comes your way soon.
I wonder why that Crayola colour just wouldn't dry... I mean they're waterbased markers.
How's Sika? Haven't seen her around for ages it seems! :)
As a member of the Salt family with a birthday on 12/21 & ADHD the "Heroes Journal" is my vibe.
I see the sickly, vaguely medicated scent of licorice for the black marker of our childhoods got replaced with the more appealing scent of burnt marshmallow, even if it sounded weird to start! 😂
I love that Crayola is following you! Despite problems with a lot of their products, they still hold a special place in my heart, for being such a big part of my childhood. (I really hated other crayons I tried; they always seemed too waxy.) It's wonderful they're following you, which I presume is to hear your suggestions for improving, and perhaps they like that you're giving them plenty of chances, rather than quitting on them and saying not to use they're products. I like to believe they care about quality, and that's why you're on their radar.
I think they actually took Jackie's advice and changed stuff.....maybe that's why the scented markers work so well suddenly? She had reviewed Crayola scented paints, coloured pencils etc before and i don't remember them being great
The markers always worked from my memory...I've used them a lot of times scone I was little, colored pencils and stuff are probably just harder to make scented...
Well the one in the example was the Silly Scents variety, which I would assume has some sort of gender bias due to mostly that gender liking something as immature as very weirdly scented markers.
Speaking of which are those even still around or did they become the scentsations markers?
0:07 such a good flash back ❤ 😂
I like to think that the PR box for the executives would be completely different then what is being sold to costumers so it would actually be useful to follow review channels to keep up with products and handling there of.
Hi Jackie! Just wanted to say that I love your vids, and I’ve been watching you for a year now, I am always so excited to see you post!
Jackie, can we please get a video about your youtube journey? I'd love to hear about your experience just starting out on this platform and growing into the channel it is today 😊
Thank you for posting right now. I really needed it. You're a light in a dark room. ❤🤗
Just saying take care of yourself and there will be lighter and brighter days ahead.
Finally something art and craft related! I thought we had lost you and you were not going to mess up with crapola again! 😭😭 I'm happy to see you've returned!
Ok I want to thank you. Just thanks for all the videos you made and you are still making!
They are enjoyable on different levels! You are one of my favorite youtubers!
Heya , how’s sika doing I’ve noticed she’s not been in your videos recently I hope your okay too x😊
Sweet review Jackie! I believe that the more money you try to save with supplies the more you will have to adjust your techniques! Regular airbrush will dry so quickly by the time you switch color pots your subject is usually dry! Cheapo Crayola airbrush? Drying times in the 1/2 to full hours range! I have purchased several airbrushes over the years and they have limitations. The less expensive models can be harder to use! Thank you for sharing all of your artworks with us! You give so much back to your viewers and for this we say THANK YOU!
Jackie: "Did that bother you"
Me: Yes, yes it did. -Internal scream
Jackie saying "Picasso I like it" made my day
❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for making my morning better with a video!
Nerdcrafter while im first here i want to say that i love you and you're awesome! I love when you do the "helloo??" when you exam the product hahah ♥ Take care everyone and stay safe love you y'all
YAY! U just posted!! That made my day already! Love you Jackie 💗💗
The fact that Crayola follows Jackie and still be Crapola. 👀
Considering the amount of subscribers that Jackie has honestly I'm only mildly surprised that they're following her. Jackie's reviews reach many people; many of which are current or potential Crayola customers, and as a company mainly geared towards kids; parents see her reviews. It looks as if Crayola is at the very least trying to improve... all be it, as cost effectively as possible.
At this point, Crayola should FEAR YOU, Jackie!!
I love your videos and I rlly hope you do some more sculptures soon since those are soo AWSOME Jackie ❤️❤️❤️
Ooo I agree! More sculptures would be really cool! Sculptures are something I never do myself and I dont think I'd be very good at it lol 🤣. But I LOVE seeing other people create them ❤
Thank you for making my day better. I have been having it pretty hard this past week and your vids rly help me relax
Really needed a fun video today, feeling super icky so this is so appreciated!
Much love to all the grains! 🧂
Hope you feel less icky soon! Sending you lots of positive vibes. Happy Friday! 😊
Sending extra grains to absorb the ick! 😁
I hope you feel better .
My friend just laughed and said it’s a blue pen for asthmatics and I said you have asthma and she goes. That’s why I’m allowed to say it so I thought I would comment that because we have just both the last are behind off. We love you you’re wonderful and we are happy little greens in our 20s who have watched you for so long. Thank you for making your day better.
Hey Jackie just found your channel and I am obsessed ❤
They're clearly not just subscribed to you but also listening to your excellent advice!
Luv you jackie and sika! You both always make me laugh :) once a grain, always a grain!
"Burnt Marshmallow?!"
"Why would any one want burnt marshmallow?"
Eventually
"oOoOOh that smells good"
"Smells like toasted marshmallow what the heck"
"Oh that is good"
"I'm drooling right now"
Jacki: What are they called?
Me: Stenci-
Jacki: Template🤓
Me: I tried 😅
Jackie hey I’ll love your work it’s great, keep it up!!! I hope people notice how much work Jackie puts into her video
Burnt marshmallow is so much better than licorice and that was the usual smell for black
Your laugh was everything my heart needed... Picasso!!!
Hi Jackie, how r you!! I am your biggest faaannnn ❤️❤️love from Indiaaaaaa ❤️❤️
I had to rewatch the part when Jackie threw the cardboard behind her because I thought her salt shaker plushie moved on its own!
Hmm
Maybe Crayola will actually have good kits now that they have followed/noticed you XD
I truly hope the Crayola dude becomes a regular figure for the Crayola reviews in the future! Adorable and a perfect representation of Crapola!
I saw the title and was like this is going to be salty
I love it when you review crayola things!
Crapola I have a bad feeling about this kit
Is it truly a Crapola review without Sika? Keep up the fun videos. I hear there is all new mini brands out now. So now duplicates in our future?
Hiii
I thought I was first but you were definitely first by about 20 seconds. 👍😂
@@EveHyland-in8jb9ti9y haha, sorry! 😂🤣
I love their plug in marker sprayer. I use it for coloring in books. Works great and it's 20$ usd. I use it with sharpies when spraying figures.
Good to know. Thanks
Those journals seem so fun! Way better than normal journalling
4:35 Jackie you almost knocked the salt shaker off the shelf
I know we hate crayola around here, and that was a glorified blowpen, but I feel like it probably wouldnt work well on sculptures anyway! Even if its being blown, it's still just water based marker ink. It dries sticky when its on things that cant soak up the ink. It might work better on things like air dry clay or even model magic or foam clay?
But especially when put up against paint it most certainly would fail. I mean, it would've anyway, its crayola, but marker ink just doesnt do well on those sorts of surfaces.
Got my heroes journal free pagess and I freaking love itt..I really want it so bad..colouring helps my mental health to be calm and not overthink almost every possible situation.. Btw I loved your art so muchh
My fevorite TH-camr ✨
"legejes (leggiges? leggedges?) " is my new favorite word. 😅
Keep up the good work Jackie!
‘Picasso, I like it’
Tell me you’ve been watching too much Tik Tok without telling me.😂😂
Your small sculptures are examples of my awsome ones
I actually had the older airbrush kit from Crayola (I think it was by them) but from what I remember it was pretty good for the price
You may need to tape down the paper onto a flat piece of cardboard if it's warping or buckling a bit because of the marker, paint, or anything at all that goes onto the paper. Lay it flat until dry. Though let it dry before removing tape just so it fixes the warping or buckling issue.
Hii jackie!! Excited to see the video! I was just thinking about you posting 😭😂❤❤
Thank you for the smiles 💗
IM EARLY !!!!!!! Jackie you make my fridays 10 times better !!!
Yep, you definitely gave it a fair chance. Also, those little characters are cute!
Hi Jackie loveeeee your videos today I ha a worst day but after watching your videos u made my day love you 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Love you soooooo much Jackie
💙 please please please can u mention my name in your next video pleaseeeeeeee pleaseeeeeeeeee
ahh I love starting the day with a cup of salt in the morning ☺️ Another great video Jackie
crayola also has an electric one ! and it works quite well, its the same concept as this one but without all the pumping and the machine itself is a lot less bulky
Wow Jackie, you must be so pumped to get aknowledged by Crayola, the energy is extra good in this video!
Jackie holds Crayola accountable and hopefully makes them do better. Jackie is exactly what Crayola needs. Let's get her hired!!!!
Crayola probably just wanted honest reviews to be able to fix their own products when they are actually bad.
I did message them once and sent them a link to a few videos of products that NerdECrafter reviewed which needed to be fixed but I don't know if that's why they follow or not. I had spent hours finding their email for this and I'm glad they now follow her even if it wasn't because of me.
Maybe try again with air dry clay? Maybe it would absorb water form the marker and help the drying process along?
You always make my day better when you post
I love this channel 💘💘💘💘 YOU N SIKA IS THE BESTT!!
I love your videos and I also love your style of sculpting
I love your vids!! I also love all of your quotes
That seems really cute I might need to check the hero´s jounals
4:33
Can we just take a moment of silence for pickle and salt shaker because they got hit by the plastic
That's why we should avoid plastic. 🙃
I'm kinda curious if you used one of those "create your own figurine" kits with the airbrush if it would work. You know, the ones with those felt figurines that you color with markers that always turn out terrible?
I absolutely love that Crayola followed you on Instagram. That is one of the best things I have ever seen.
I remember having a crayola airbrush as a kid and last year I received a set of real airbrushes and a really nice air compressor. It's so much fun and really got me out of my comfort zone, though making sure the air brushes don't get clogged is a pain.
Love your videos. For the journals you can also try Burn after writing. You fill it out and come back a few years later and write again to compare. Like a book time capsule
Jackie:As much confidence as a..... Hippopotamus on a tightrope
Me: *Always like that with older boys and younger boys lol*
I think for kids on paper it’s probably good but she’s right it should be called automatic blow pen or something along those lines not air brush
Oh my goodness Heros Journal I been wanting to get one!!
Here 13 minutes after publishing :D love your channel Jackie!
Jackie I love it when you test crapola, then I know myself what to get and what not to get, I have had those blow pens before and almost passed out doing it.. lol
But this glorified sprayer is not worth the time or money..
Have a great weekend!! 🤗
