Wonderful video! The Olive Grove looked great, definitely somewhere I'd like to eat. We've booked a deck 10 balcony cabin, deck 8 cabins really wouldn't appeal to me. I love a wrap around promenade and I hope people don't start moving the sunbeds making it difficult to walk around. Looking forward to the rest in the series. Thank you!
Thanks Angela, the Olive Grove was great definitely book early! The promenade is a real bonus, Deck 10 is a good choice, we have an aft cabin on deck 10 booked for our cruise in January!
The Olive Grove food look amazing. Those balconies have some much space but not for me.Strange design indeed.I’m going to watch this one again as it was so entertaining! I’ve never cruised P&O,but I will be looking now.
Thanks for another brilliant video 😀 we love the quays and the Olive Grove- definitely recommend asking to have the rose ice cream with the Torta Gianduia (it tastes like chocolate coated Turkish delight!).
Went on Sprit of Discovery, wow wonderful cruise ,only a four night to try, before covid... Food top of the range, unfortunately for me can't use the included drinks ,but those who can excellent. Have a lovely time on Saga ,where are you going to ?
Great video. Just off Iona yesterday and that brought a smile to my face ☺️ loved the Quays. We were in there nearly every day. Joanne wanted to do the Olive Grove but I wasn’t so keen and I feel bad now as it looked good. I agree about the cabins on the prom deck. Whose idea was that ??? A big no from me. The ship itself is fantastic. We had around 3,100 on board and as Paul said we never ever felt anywhere was crowded. For us it was the perfect cruise and even though the cabins might be a little ‘tight’ it doesn’t take away from the fact Iona is a truly fabulous ship.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel we are back on in February. Same itinerary Hamburg Rotterdam and Bruges. We loved the ship so much we can’t wait to sail her again.
You guys are great, I’m going on my first cruise, on the Iona, next week, very excited! It looks fabulous and I hope to be in the sunset bar a few times. I’m trying to work out where you are from, is it Bristol?
I'm with Paul, the Oreo milkshake is the choice of the gods. The promenade looked great, I love a ship that has a full promenade that you can walk all around the ship. I have an interesting story about the casino; on our honeymoon cruise, my wife usually gets a bit seasick the first day so she got a shot at the medical facility and went to bed for the evening, I went to the $5 blackjack table and won almost every hand for an hour and won back the cost of our cruise. That is literally the last time I ever played anything in a casino. The Iona does look very nice and glad that you have lots of room and plenty of places to sit as you walk around.
Lol choice of the gods, it was superb! Oh wow what a win, surprised you haven't been back to the casino to see if you can do it again! The wrap around Promenade is fabulous, good move by P&O!
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel I think about going back to the casino on occasion, but, so much else to do that I never do. Besides, my favorite line Viking, does not have casinos. Cheers.

Hi Colin, we didn't experience those issues but we did cruise when the ship had reduced capacity. The only place we queued for was the 710 club. We are back on Iona in January so will be interesting to see the differences when there will be more passengers on board!
I’ll probably never travel on Iona since I’m American, but I’d take one of those promenade balcony cabins! Doesn’t look so bad with the frosted glazing
After watching several videos, I've figured it out: Paul is a "low talker". It's nearly impossible to hear him clearly, while Carole comes through loud & clear. Is there any way of putting a mic on Paul?
Yes phones do not always change to correct time zones, so that is why I always resurrect my watch to take away with me. I have to think about that a couple of weeks before we go away as I usually need a new battery for it.
Just got back from a 14 nighter on Iona. On deck 5 balconies 5501,5507, 5509 (mine) & 5517 are directly below Club 710 where music goes on until after 1am. Altho I could not hear the music, the drums kept me awake so I did manage to get a change of cabin. These 4 cabins are graded GB but should not be; in fact I reckon they should be used for storage or something and not sold at all. The inside cabins nearby grade PB 5503, 5505, 5011 & 5015 are also affected. It is really bad design to put cabins directly above or below late night venues. Avoid these cabins if you can
Thanks for the great video, very entertaining!!! Can't believe how rude a couple of the comments were, some people! As for the cabins on the promenade that are overlooked, they wouldn't be for me, so I would definitely make sure I booked one on a higher deck, my sister however loves chatting, so she would definitely book one and stand having a natter all day long, she would love it!!!

We enjoyed Iona especially the Olive Grove. Not too keen on the new Glass House menu. Didn't like the feeling of sitting in a passage in the Glass House. The cocktail menus were different in each bar and Hendricks Gin (our favourite) was only Available in Andersons
The Glass House set up was very open plan, our first time so nothing to compare. Anderson's did seem the best place for cocktails, looking forward to trying some more in January. Will definitely do pay as we go then as the cocktail selection on the drinks package was dreadful!

What were they thinking with those cabins? Mind you all the side balcony cabins appear to overlook each other too... I wouldn't like that... having a cuppa in your pj's with everyone looking... also not able to look down onto the water too.. very odd... 🤷♀️
Not for us either, don't like being overlooked. It is all very strange. For cabins with pure seaview seems need to book deck 11 and above. We have an aft cabin in January looks half overlooked but still some privacy so will be interesting to see!
