Hi Gabrielle you have the perfect weather for this stage of this project and are making fantastic progress.👍 The teak looks truly beautiful. You look very happy with your work - sanding glorious sanding.😂
I visiting HR in Ellos a few months ago. The sales rep there gave me an in depth tour of the yard and showed me how they make these teak decks. There is a vid on my channel if you would like to see where she was built. I must catch up on your refit :)
Excellent progress. A good day indeed. I hope you are able to get video of the teak installation. Is your work space heated or will epoxy and paint work be interrupted once winter arrives?
Hello!,thx a lot for comment! No warm place in winter! I will stop until spring arriving.. but at the moment I got 24 Celsius day 14 night so still working on !!
Thats looking great Gabriel! Is the chopped strand mat you are using a special one that is compatible with epoxy resin? All the chopped strand mat I am aware of over here isn't compatible with epoxy as it needs Styrene to dissolve the binding material in the mat. The deck is looking nice and flat - I am spending weeks trying to get mine fast, I found it was very uneven because the teak screwed down distorts it. Cant wait to see how the teak looks on yours.
+A boat called wanda thank Richard! Yes normal mat never get problem with it!!’ Use many times with epoxy.. still good and strong .. off course 99% I used cloth 45 degree...yes pay a lot of attention my deck is flat fortunately except near the starboard cleat in the bow little depression found after lay down the teak.. not important in any case!
Fantastic job Gabrielle. Can't wait to see the new teak deck installed. One question, when they prepare the new teak deck in the factory, do they steam bend the curved strips or do they cut the curves from wider straight strips? Thanks for sharing this video. Excellent as usual 👍
+Danny Boy hello Danny! No steam to curve they use a private technique that work very well! They didn’t want to speak about that .. eh eh professional secret...
Great work / sanding cant wait to see the teak deck. The guys making this are true craftsman and i am sure there workmanship will show on the finished job. Do you plan to epoxie the bottom then anti-foul or will you go for a coppercoat type bottom?
+al math soon you will see on video the process! Regarding bottom still think about that... copper coat or epoxy gelshield.. I will decide this spring! Need more info regarding
I was hoping to see the teak deck go down. But clearly you had some tasks to do in preparation. It was nice to see that work get done. Nice job! How long does it take for Lineastem to make your deck after they have the pattern?
Thx s lot!! Tomorrow ( Monday ) we start to vacuum the teak deck take 10days to Lineastem to prepare it ! They are prof...at the end 40/50 teak deck at year made!!! Next Friday all setup!
