  • Very tasty and super soft coconut dosa recipe with available ingredients at home.
    Ingredients:
    1 cup - Idli rice or any dsa rice or raw rice
    1 Table spoon - Urad dal
    1 cup - Fresh coconut
    1/2 cup - poha/rice flakes/ flattened rice
    Salt to taste
    2tsp - Sugar
    Water as needed
    NOTE: In the video i missed to include urad dal in ingredient list

    Very very easy and delicious it turned out.. softest ever made Appam style in Appam cheti I made.. wonderfully easy. Idli rice made it so soft.. thanks so much

      Yes, It will be good. Don't allow to ferment until sour.

      @@bhusanur.cooking In fact any cooking rice available can be used for this recipe..soaking for two hours is plenty …and you don’t ferment…take out half or more..of the ground batter…add a pinch of baking soda…and salt to taste…and a teaspoon of coconut oil…brush the skillet too with moisture and then with oil..your dosas come out thick..with plenty of aeration…and can be stored to use for four days..keep in the frig..for storage..so the coconut does not get rancid…and use the batter at room temperature. Try this.. I use this method once a week. I use Jasmine rice from the Chinese food store..add a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds…and one cup of mixed coconut flakes sweetened and unsweetened…gives a great texture and taste. Thanks 🙏

    In the ingredients mentioned at the start you do not mention udit but while soaking rice I see u add udit dal. Can you please clarify....thanks

    In the ingredients list udad dal not shown but while making u added so I will try making the method shown. Let me see if it's the same as u made. Finger crossed.

    Can we make dosa with sona masoori rice.what happen if I choose not to ferment dosa batter and makes dosa?

      Yes. You can make without fermenting also. Taste will be good and you feel little bit harder than fermenting dosa.

    Is it necessary to take off black cover of coconut? What if we dont separate it from coconut?

      Not necessary. If you use full white coconut, the dosa will turn super white

      In konkani we call dosa for everything for eg neer dosa, masala dosa etc or pole. But in kerela ppl call it appam etc.
