I know I'm late to the party, but wow, only $10 is pretty cheap. I have my XA2 with the A11 flash sitting in front of me right now. Mine cost me IIRC about £100, but that was brand new back in 1984. I bought it for the times when I would have to go places while I was in the Royal Air Force, and needed a small unobtrusive camera to take with me. The times when the ME Super was far far to much camera. I still have it, and would not part with it, but I have to say it has never seen much use. In the end my RAF service didn't see me travelling the world, far from it. Also working in secure buildings where just having a camera could land you in prison, let alone taking photos, I didn't really ever need that alternative to the SLR. Have recently got into shooting some film again, and it's kind of nice having a small 35mm compact to go with my 1952 vintage Zeiss Ikon Nettar 6×6 cm folding compact. Have some FP4 in the XA2 at the moment, but I think that maybe I should put some colour film in it, given the period the camera is from, and save the Ilford films for the Nettar.
it just breaks my heart that here in brazil i only could find and get this camera for U$300 although it's one of my favorites. great video and happy new year!
I like the look of these photos. I've been critical of some of the results from Frugal work in the past but this series is different. Good on ya, mate - as I believe you colonials say! One thing.....there had to be "one thing"....If the camera shutter sound is unobtrusive, do you really need that Sumo wrestler squatting in the background doing belly slaps for a fake shutter sound? 😎
