Bee colonies are dynamic places. The honey bee population is constantly changing, and so is its relationship to other environmental factors, including diseases and pests. Keeping hives healthy involves monitoring conditions inside the hive and being aware of problems and parasites. Learn to sample your bees for varroa mites and understand when their number becomes dangerous to your bees.
