I'm doing a virtual AT hike. It's not nearly as hard as the real thing, as there are no hills, no rocks, no ice, no streams to cross. Watching gives me a sense of what I'm missing. But at 67 with hip and knee issues, this is how I roll. I'm doing about 10 miles a day.
Congratulations on 100 miles! Take care of those knees get yourself a cheap brace at CVS. The second they start to hurt put it on! The minute you get that twinge brace up. Enjoying the journey. Peace and blessings.
Try boiling water and pouring over some spruce needles and sip it slowly. It's really good for cough and congestion. Safe journeys and hope you feel better!
I’m having so much fun following your trip. In my much younger days I spent a thanksgiving weekend hiking around standing Indian/Albert mountain. It was so cool sharing your travels through there. Safe journey!
Great job so far and you are hitting so many milestones in what seems no time with the compilation of days which works great on playback. Live it all up. Be safe. Walk on!
Way to go! Hang in there with your illness, it will get better as you go along. Really watch your knee, baby it. I look forward to week 3, please keep posting.
Hey girl, your cough / sore throat / sniffles may have been an allergy from something budding. Your hiking strong even with the knee problem and the sniffles. That first sunburn on the trail feels so good. Happy for you and jealous. Wish I was hiking too. Hike safe, Hike strong, you're doing great! geek
It is exciting to see you pass the 100 mile mark,I love seeing your progress. Particularly thru an area I have visited before (Wayah Bald & NOC). Take care of your knee and your health. You've got this!
I love seeing the spring wildflowers! Spring Beauty, Meadow Rue or False Meadow Rue (I can never tell the difference), I couldn't tell whatthe little white flowers with the bees, and I believe the trillium is the Great White Trillium.
Hi there, I met Miss Janet at devil fork gap a few weeks ago and she is the sweetest lady. You are doing great and moving along fast. Keep heading north.🥾🥾
I hate being sick, can't imagine being sick and hiking in the rain and making miles. You're strong and determined. Congratulations on the 100 miles mark. Well done. Hope you feel better and your knee doesn't give you much trouble. Thanks for sharing. Really appreciate all the work that goes into making a vlogg so a stranger like me can enjoy them and cheer you on. 😊
Been watching and wanted to let you know that your videos are awesome. If you stop in a town/city with Walmart you can get Airborne which has zinc and many more vitamins. Airborne also has an elderberry flavor as well. Sorry to hear you were getting sick symptoms on trial.
First, you did a video about hammock camping before your hike. I’m interested in using a hammock for my section hike next year. Can you show more about your experiences hammock camping on the trail vs tent camping. Also I sent you a message on instagram with directions using shock cord to help with your sagging issues on your tarp that will hopefully help you out. Looking forward to hearing more about your hammock experience! Have a great safe trip!
Hey Aly! Congrats on the first 100 and getting into familiar territory. Do you feel like your knee is getting stronger yet? Less pain? Hopefully so and I hope your cold is over by now. Happy Hiking!
So much great footage! Was that a butterfly or a moth at 4:05? I'm so sorry you got sick, you'll bounce back quickly. Anyhow, I hope you feel better. You're doing amazing both on the hike and the filming. ✌️
Awesome! Moving along quickly. I am thinking about doing the AT in the next year or so. Maybe not the full pull, but at least a month’s worth. It runs within half an hour from my house in VA. My question is about electronics. I would def put it all on my channel. Do you have a battery bank and just keep everything off until you need it and charge in towns?
It’s a huge moral lift not to have the rain smacking my head. When it’s pouring and all you can do is look down at the trail, it’s nice to be able to have some cover from above. It gives a bit more freedom. It also stops water from running down between my back and the pack and keeps my shoulder straps drier. It’s a personal preference choice for sure, but I’m enjoying it!

Elderberry has been a go-to for me. Airborn is a great idea. Thanks!
Somebody's not going to work tomorrow! 😁🇺🇲
This is so exciting! Hope the knee and cold are on the way to recovery!
Thanks! They are, thankfully.

Great, thanks! And yes, I’ll have more content about hammocking coming out later on.
I. Bet that cold running water felt good on the feet
It does! Works out all the lactic acidosis.
@18:41 Is that Goose, Sonic and Buttercup I hear?!?
It did sound like them! I listened again just now.

Get a knee brace one that wraps around
Congratulations on the 100 miles. How many hats do you have?
Thank you! I have one Buff and one trucker hat.
HEISENBERG here! Are you experiencing the bubble like I am? Shelters and campsites have been slammed the past few days.
It depends on the day for sure. Happy trails!
🚶♀️👍🏻🙂
:)
If you carry your water bottle upside down, the cap wouldn't be icy and get stuck.
. . . bley gap, sacred tree L.
Why would you want to hike under umbrella? Just wondering, its the first time I see someone do that.
