    something about Zena, Domnall speaks in a welsh accent, and uses welsh greeting "shmaye", this might tell us that the lands are similar to wales. Mountainous valleys and isolated communities, principalities over kingdoms.

      well Domhall sports the classes of RPG starters and uses crystal swords and shield.
      In Fantasy settings, most celtic names are from earthy people such as from Tolkien's world. So you get dwarves, elves, and hobbits.
      I'm guessing kingdoms that are blended in with nature.
      Such as a kingdom within or on the cliff-face of mountains. (such as depicted in the hobbit movies)
      Considering his handheld were made out of crystals, we can say that these crystals are all over the place or there is an abundance of them in the mountain.
      But since Domhall is a roaming merchant, he could've picked it up somewhere else.
      IDK if Zena is a trading city but his garb says that it is where you can find different classes. Back then in RPGs, depending on your class, it would dictate where you are from. I believe that DS follows that system as well. Majority of cities have their own speciality classes that the majority follow.
      This means that Domhall is an end-game character and Zena could be like a place where there is a PvP arena or Boss dungeon that people go to to get expensive drops. Should this place exists, it would make sense why it would attract merchants or why someone would wish to be a merchant.
      This would also explain how Domhall can traverse the lands, selling high-tier or boss gears and why he has such unique shield and swords.

    • @ieuandixon6924
      @ieuandixon6924 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Doomnall isn't a traditional Welsh name as far as i know however he does speak with a Welsh accent (Southern, Valley's accent) and the greeting 'Shwmae' is Welsh. I suppose that would make Zena some sort of celtic hybrid nation (Brythonic and Gaelic)

    Many years ago, I planned to create a fan-made World-Map for the *entire continent* of Dark Souls, including _every single place ever mentioned_ in all three games, even the huge amount of new lands mentioned in Dark Souls 2. My imagination ran wild: Where are the Sunless Realms? Are they near Forossa? Just how big is Astora when compared to Carim, Thorolund or Mirrah?
    I kept running into problems and paradoxes. For example, a conundrum was: do I interpret Drangleic as seen in-game? Or as seen in the cloth map and CGI trailer? Especially by Dark Souls 3, when Lothric is a dimensional convergence point for dozens of lands merging together. The prospect got so complex that I ultimately gave up.

      There's probably a lot that can be drawn from the fact that the Catarina armour resembles an obese body. It suggests that body weight is respected. Maybe an indication of prosperity - Look how big my belly is - I must be able to afford to eat a lot while not doing much manual labour. That seems to fit with the suggestion of it being a generally happy place, with a taste for drink and a tendency to do things their own way.

      @@jacobhoover1654 No, Londor is completely different place. The ringed city was a city gifted by Gwyn to the Pygmies and humans for helping him in the war against the dragons. Londor is a place for undead and hollows. The people in Londor probably "stole" the towers from The ringed city. Or the devs really are not creative.

      @@pommeslord1824 Londor worshipped Kathe & there are statues of him all over the Ringed City. The ritual sword of Londor has the same symbol that's on top of the towers in Ringed City. The Clerics in Ringed City have those shells on thier backs just like the Londor Pilgrims. You provided no proof they are not the same place.

      @@jacobhoover1654 Yes there are statues of Kaathe (or any other serpent) in the ringed city but there are no signs of his actions. He taught the art of lifedrain to the four Kings, that's why the darkwraiths use it. And yes the darkwraiths were at some point the knights in the ringed city but they were corrupted by the Kaathe and also learned the art of lifedrain. The ringed knights don't have the art of lifedrain because they weren't corrupted by Kaathe and the abyss. The art of lifedrain is a pretty big deal in Londor but no one uses it in the ringed city. The Sable church is also a big thing in Londor but it is nowhere to be seen in the ringed city. The only thing that comes close to a church in the ringed city is the church where Fillianore sleeps. But why should humans who want the end of the age of fire protect or even pray to Gwyns daughter? They even have a dragon who fights the abyss. Only these insect people have some relation to the abyss but they are not even really in the ringed city but in a swamp outside of it. The ritual sword and the shells are maybe a thing that humans did back in the day and that's why it is everywhere . Our world too has many similarities in architecture or clothes too. I actually think that Londor is a rebuilt new Londo but it's just my theory, the ritual sword also looks close to the key of the seal from Ds 1. Or these shell guys were banished out of the city and founded their own one. That would explain the architecture and stuff. But I stay with what I said, The Ringed City is not Londor. Is this enough proof?

    • @jacobhoover1654
      @jacobhoover1654 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pommeslord1824 There are no signs of Kathe bc he's dead by the time of DS3 (according to Yuria's death dialogue). Also, I agree the Ringed City Knights & Darkwraiths are related but the RCK's still have the seal of fire on them that contains the Abyss forged into thier armor, so maybe that seal has to break for them to be able to use Life drain.

      Sauron was probably inspired by Balor, The Evil eye. Yes, there is such mythical figure in celtic mythology of Ireland. Balor of The Evil eye waged war to the Tuatha De Dannan.
      But the interesting part is this one: In the Elder Ring trailer we see a spearman destroying what appears to be a giant with one red eye that destroyed the battlefield!
      Rings a bell? Miyazaki has read about Celtic Mythology. The Evil Eye was likely inspired by Balor, besides Sauron.
