you didn't tell us what was damaged on the car seat. Britax has a few recalls going right now for car seats and offering replacement parts for them, double check that before disposing it if you still have it.. Also found a few items on my pallets that should have not been there because of recalls and was able to get the full retail value back by destroying them and sending those do not cut off tags back to them for proof. Car seats ,strollers, dehumidifier are just a few things I double check on the national recall list.
forgot to add walmart was the biggest offender I find for having recall items on their pallets.
The support foam was torn out
