    This was the best demonstration of truss rod adjustment Ive seen
    Thank you

    Best video of truss rod adjustments I have ever seen. By showing the gap between the string(s) and the fret as you adjusted the neck in both directions really helped show what is happening. Excellent work. I am proud to be a .strandberg player!

    Solved my fret buzz on high E string first fret (Boden Prog NX 7)! Admittedly, I was disappointed to receive it like that fresh out of the box. But other than that, I fell in love with this thing!

    The first thing to really observe and appreciate is how sure Ola is about the quality and built integrity of his guitars, this is a 7 string and adjusting the truss rod to make a bow is actually amazing how accurate and linear the increment is. Carbon fiber is there for a very good and mathematical purpose. This shows how great these guitars are crafted.
    Hopefully one day I can order one!
    I haven’t seen all videos ons truss rode adjustment, but this is definitely the best one to precisely explains how it works and adjusted.

      they are crafted great but that's where it ends. i got mine out of the box and the god damn strings didn't even move because they were way too low, not even with the stringht height screws all the way at the top. never had i to do a truss rod adjustement on a freshly bought guitar or bass, not like that. and definitely not on a 3k instrument. also, i'm not even mentioning the fact that this thing has neck dive like it's insane. it doesn't stay in place. and it's headless! problem is that it's such a lightweight body, it's just not enough to counteract. i bought this POS for 3k and it has worse neck dive than my nephews kid guitar for 500 bucks. the materials are good, the ideas behind it are good and the craftsmanship is good. the problem is that it's not thought through and in reality, it just doesn't work well. to bring this thing to a even remotely playable state as a non luthier is a challenge. i bought it 3 years ago and was so frustrated that it sat in it's stand since and every time i look at this POS i'd like to take it and smash it against the nearest concrete wall

      @hazardeur have you shown it to a certified tech at least to give it a shot?

    • @hazardeur

      i have tinkered with guitars for 25 years, i dont need a tech. at least not to know some things are just not right and also not fixble with this thing. a headless instrument with neck dive is just a failure before already before bringing any tech into the game. it either has neck dive or doesnt. i know there are things you could change like adding new boring holes for replacing the strap lock mounts on different axis but come on.....its a god damn 3k instrument and its headless. i shouldnt need to worry about this AT ALL. and this is just one of many issues this thing has. some can be fixed, some definitely cant. @@justincecilsolomon1868

    I won’t be needing this but thanks . All three Strandberg Biden Prog I own are insanely stable in every aspect the tuning stability is amazing and the body is so stable is unreal

    - Don't forget to re-intonate after adjusting truss rod!
    - Use the (free) AP Tuner 3.07 for Windows. Enable the 'harmonics graph' to better see what's happening with the intonation.
    NOTE: Happy owner of a Strandberg Boden Fusion :) Thanks Ola! Hälsningar från GBG!

      I'd honestly recommend a strobe tuner for intonation, tuners on your phone aren't as accurate, nor is a clip tuner.

      @@canadiancombatwombatthe3rd782 He's recommending a computer program, not a phone app. And I totally agree with you about phone apps. Not only do they lack accuracy but they can themselves be out of tune (referring to the Fender app speficially but seems to apply to all). I actually use G-Tune GVST which is painfully accurate (I've long given up trying to get it to settle at exactly zero), I'm not particularly recommending it, it was just the first thing I tried. A computer can definately tune accurately where a phone cannot.

    I bought a metal nx6 and I dont know why, the neck bends itself ,the stability is so bad even in the constant humidity’ cabin,and it happens again when I returned the first one and bought a new one…I love the guitar and Ive send email to you.Hope youcan help me to get a good one with no neck problem

    This is amazing 👏 Even better than Dan Erlewines at stewmac. It's clear exactly what's happening here! I have a question for spoke heel adjustment, though. Wouldn't everything be in reverse?

    • @christopheranderson2100
      @christopheranderson2100 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is hard to explain, but if you had to adjust a clock (with hands and stuff) while standing behind the clock, then everything would be reversed. Same deal with truss rod. As long as your standing at the end where the screw is, right = clockwise = tighter = straighter (less relief). If you are standing where Ola is standing and the screw is in the heel, then you're going to get confused because everything is indeed reversed... but that's nothing to do with the trust rod, it's because you're standing at the wrong end of it.

    What if my truss rod is very tightened and they are still quite High? And The little bridge screws are also set up at max low?

      My strandberg has high action and buzzes when I try to tighten rod or lower bridge screws, rather sad.

    It’s about time a good camera angle shows the movement, in one of these tutorials. I think people either get afraid and don’t adjust enough, or they get frustrated because they can’t tell a difference when they chuck up a 4 mm Allen socket into a drill and let ‘er rip

    Hi, I just watched a video on your True Temperament fretting system, and I was wondering if you made a Piezo equipped SSH guitar that has a tremolo? Both the electrics I use have Piezo equipped tremolos because of the songs we play throughout a given night...we cover various artist's music and we try to go from one song to the next very quickly, so changing guitars over the coarse of a set is avoided except in emergencies like broken strings...

  • @cankutbayhan

    the question is the hypothetical action considered as the appropriate setting during back the crowning of the frets...the standard for this phenomena occurs as the buzzing and even dead frets after some decrease of the same sort in the action.

    I'm pretty new to doing my own truss rod adjustments; since this is a "global" adjustment for the entire neck/all strings, does it matter which string you reference to check clearance? Assuming not, but I saw at the start you were working with the D string, and then the high E. Thanks for the vid and info! Just got my Prog 7!! :-)

      In an optimum scenario, before starting on the truss rod, saddles must follow radius spec of fretboard, plus frets must be level! It's a system, including the nut. All guitars are different! I use suggested measurement specs as starting points and then set up by "ear", "feel"... "sight" will tell you if something looks off, too! And its all subjective preference what set up you prefer on your instrument. Then comes Intonation and Pick Up height adjustment at last, for fine tuning.

    this is a very weird tutorial, how do I check that the position I've set up is correct?

  • @canadiancombatwombatthe3rd782
    @canadiancombatwombatthe3rd782 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just gonna leave you all a cheat code here, yes the neck is truly a preference adjustment, however, 3/64th measured from the 7th fret to the bottom of the first string is the magic number, 4/64th for bass.

    It is my understanding that you should be making very small adjustments over time on a truss rod. I wouldve thought that making this many alterations dramatically in both directions and in such little time would be a very bad idea with an instrument you care about. I know Ola is a very smart guy and he’s also doing this for demonstration purposes. just wondering if i’m the only one thinking this way. Getting my first Strandy soon.

      Hi Braden, thanks for watching the video! While you should be careful with over-tightening the truss rod in either direction, you should not worry at all about adjusting it within its range as often as you want. A quality instrument can take it. //Ola

    1/4 of a turn at a time??? SHIT I was turning mine full on rotations as far as it would go LOL. am i FUCKED? i did it only a few times as I was setting up my boden... PLays wonderfully but with new strings on they still go out of tune alittle bit but ill give it more time since its only been a week with new strings that need stretched.
