I so enjoy your channel and the way you upcycle. I also so enjoy the way a story develops, as with the house on the book page acting like snow with the Coca Cola truck driving by. I think one day our ancestors might enjoy seeing what products were prevalent in the past. Sometime I believe our journals should contain things we’d normally not think of..the everyday things like receipts from where we might have dined out, a list of books we enjoyed reading..the kinds of things that occurred on a daily basis rather than only profound events. It would give our descendants a picture of what we and life was like in our time.
I really agree Lisa, I use receipts a lot in my journal and as much every day ephemera as possible. I'm glad you like the little stories I made with my collage. I don't always work that way but I do enjoy it when I do. ❤️
Hi Helen: I just love what you did with all of them. Your ideas are really creative! And to give each a story, brilliant! I’m not paper crafting at the moment, but always enjoy watching your videos. 💜😎🇺🇸
Love the stories you tell in your collages! I can't decide if I prefer Sow White or the rich lady refusing the gift, both have a great story to tell! 😍 Thank you very much Helen
I have a collection of tissue boxes that have such beautiful patterns on them that I can’t bear to put them in the bin. There is a fairly large brand logo on each side, but surely I can find something just perfect to cover it with. Coca-Cola is so iconic that I agree it’s fine that it shows on your pieces. I’m not sure that “Kleenex” works as well, so I’ll definitely cover it! I do love what you’ve done today. ❤
I would be interested to know how your tissue box experiment goes. I've worked with the patterns before but as you suggest, have covered the wording. I think it's the perfect material to do this project with though. There are so many pretty boxes now.
What lovely projects, thank you for sharing them. I've kept the product branding visible when it is something that I absolutely love and don't get to have except on special occasions (Cadburys 💜, Terry's milk chocolate orange). I truly believe that our loved ones are in heaven and are looking down sending us their love and comfort. I hope you have a similar belief and that it makes facing your first Christmas a little easier. 🐞
I'm glad you liked the projects. Ah, yes, Chocolate! Why didn't I think of that. I guess I'll have to go out and get some boxes of chocolate so I can try out crafting with them. What a shame lol. I do believe that he is somewhere else, just not here anymore. Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate them.
Yes, like you Coke and Christmas kind of go hand in hand. Every year they have a Christmas train that passes. I think they've also added a 18 wheeler to the mix, but don't quote me. lol
I think these work well, especially as the Coca-cola branding is already vintage. I sometimes wonder how "vintage" styled journals are going to look when they are actually vintage! Perhaps more modern images will actually be more redolent of our era, when enough time has passed. I like the look of the black-and-white or softer colours against the bright backgrounds, and the outlining helps them hold their own. I hope your Christmas goes well.
Yes, you are right of course. I never thought of coca cola as a vintage brand but it is. I need to think of some others like that as I think it does work well. I think, as you say, more modern images will land differently when enough time passes. Even we will seem quaint to future generations. 😂
@@journalingplanet Thank you for the thrift store idea, I love it. As in helping myself I am helping others if some of the sales money goes to their charity.
It is going to hit you hard so please make sure you have a great support group of family and friends handy. You may also want to put aside some run money should the memories get to much for you to deal with. Call a taxi and take yourself to a motel for a night or two. Go to an expensive one you two always wanted to go to but did not have the time or luxury of affording then. It doesn't have to be far from home, just to get out of the home for a bit. Take a hot bubble bath and have a good cry if you need to. Just remember it won't always be this way as you dry off and tuck yourself into a big comfortable bed. Wishing him a Merry Christmas love, wherever you are.
@@journalingplanetYou're most welcome for both. People are to uneasy to talk about this subject in case they say things that will make someone cry. I feel by relating your experience on how you coped can sometimes be the best things to say. It may give the grieving person an idea that they never would have thought about themselves being in the grieving mind state. We all grieve differently, so there should be no "grieving protocol" expected by anyone. If you need to talk to a stranger, just keep leaving me a message here. I don't always get them I've found, so just keep at it okay.
@@journalingplanet As I said, should you need a shoulder of a stranger, don't hesitate. Now, can't wait for what you are going to show me how to do next. : )

Hi Helen!! You are “the Real Thing” … thank you for sharing your fun and beautiful art work💝🌸
😂😂😂 I always appreciate a good coca cola reference. I'm so glad you liked what I made.

I do love the Snow White one too. It's always difficult to pick favourites. Thank you so much for watching. ❤️

These are adorable this is very creative ❤
Thank you so much. I'm glad you think so.
Signed up, thank you for the freebies they are an immense to me as I am on a strict budget and have little to none left for fun money.
I hope the freebies and the videos are of use to you. I know what it is to be on a tight budget. Thrift stores are my go-to.
