thanks for the info steven just checked thr fleet list i thought the coronation from salvage squad was in running condition because it got its vanbac controllers back working but not to be thanks again steven a good video .
I wonder if anyone could help me. A few years back, a good few years back, there was a video from the 60s, 70s, 80s or maybe at a push the 90s. It was footage taken from the top of the bridge that was just adjacent to the Tower building. The prom was heaving with people, the vintage trams were all out on parade and there were vintage vehicles of all kinds passing by, traction engines, cars, lorries, you name it. I cannot find it anywhere and it was absolutely superb footage of the kind of thing you just don't see anymore.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos Thanks very much. It was certainly a big event, it was tear inducing, to watch so many vintage vehicles out on the promenade.
Brilliant video these trams are what Blackpool is all about remember them well running up and down the prom when I was a kid seems like yesterday brilliant anyway take care stay safe m8 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vlog. No more heritage events now until July (Fleetwood Transport Festival) but I'll be sure to try and capture some of the daily tours this summer too, alongside a few railway days out too
Hi in Heaton Park Manchester there is a heritage tram way and in their collection they have or did have a Blackpool single decker open tourer tram. in green , white.
@@StevenHughestransportvideos I did not no they had 4 ex Blackpool trams, Its run by volunteers I do not no how often they run my be they have a web site. The tram shed they use was built in I think 1900,s and closed in 1934 its in the park grounds and in very well preserved condition. Its near to Middleton Road entrance.
@@itsonlyme9938 they run Sundays only I think. They have a balloon, a brush car, a rail grinder and a replica toast rack. They also have an ex towing car from Blackpool but that's on loan to Blackpool at the moment. Stockport 5 was also used in Blackpool for a time. There is quite a link between Heaton park and Blackpool
Great video i love to see the old trams they are part of the history of Blackpool and it would not be the same without them
Indeed, hopefully we will see more restoration once the tramtown museum is complete in a couple years.

304 is the closest to a return but needs some interior refresh work and new suspension rubbers.
well done steven it was a good afternoon we were at littje bispham pity no blackpool standards running on the day.
Yes, shame no standard, and also a shame no Coronation car either. Maybe next time.

That sounds like either the 1985 centenary parade of maybe a 1977 jubilee parade. I'll see if I can find out

They are hoping to have one back later this year or early next, but alas the lockdowns have delayed things somewhat so it wasn't to be for this year.
Good show the best
Amazing to see 👍
Thanks Paul
Did you guys notice something when the guy was pulling out the tram I noticed a tram that was a haunted tram.
They do say the tram depot is haunted.

I never gave it a thought till now but what voltage do the trams run on? Is it 550?
Most traditional trams run on 550v but Blackpool runs on 600v since the upgrade. Manchester runs on 750v. So there is some variance between systems
