I wanted to like the Topdon line but had such a bad experience with a pro scanner and Topdon gave such a poor experience as well I decided to go with top of the line launch and have been extremely happy .
A few years ago I watched a vid of a repo man going after a Porche. He rolled at night and brought along a locksmith. When they found the car, the repo man forced the dr door open and the locksmith got in, fired up his laptop, plugged it into the diag port, ran an app which unlocked the steering & fired up the car and away the lockman went with the repo man following behind. !
Hey Eric, I own Repo company just got into making keys for the finance companies, but sometimes I program keys and the remote don’t open the car door and I have to have the fob right next to the push start. What am I doing wrong and is there a way I can pay you to mentor me and in the video, you did not explain how to link the FCC ID to the vehicle vehicles I think that’s my problem, but I don’t know how to link them

I am not sponsored by anyone and yes I still recommend the X431 pro3s+ over this scan tool unless you need to do key programming and if you cannot afford the Launch.
Eric, i need help with a 2013 Lincoln Mkz. It had a lot of electrical problems and i fixed some but there is more.. Im in North side of Houston. Let me know if you are up to a good challenge..
@@markusheitmann Yes, for certain functions. Besides Advanced Diagnostic is going to go out of business quickly if they don't catch up with the times. The competition is fierce and they still act like they are the only professional key programmer on the market.
I want to buy this Topdon scanner. But is it rigged to use the VSP credentials like the Autel now requires? I don't want to go to locksmith apprentice school for three years and pay a half a million dollar insurance and an exam, just to get VSP credentials.
Our workhorses are the Autel 608, 508, KM100 and Advanced diagnostics Smart Pro. Also have a Smart Box but never actually used it. We don't Lishi though. We call in for codes or use NASTF. We run 80-150 calls per week so not a lot of time for trial and error. I think Lishi's are great BTW just not for us.

Do you still recommend the launch x431 over any other scan tool or are you sponsored by them?
I am not sponsored by anyone and yes I still recommend the X431 pro3s+ over this scan tool unless you need to do key programming and if you cannot afford the Launch.
Hey Eric I have a 2002 Olds Aurora with just a valet key. What do I need to do to get a proper full function key cut?
Can a remote for a '12 Rogue be done without going to the dealer or locksmith? I have a Launch Thinktool PROS & an Autel MK808BT.
I’m not sure if those tools can pull the PIN code. Most key programmers on the market can do these easily.
@@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO if they're able to pull the PIN code I should be good?
I wonder how much that key cutting machine set you back?
Awesome bro

Nope

Can’t you unplug the horn power wire? Or would that mess with the key programming?
How’s the customer service with that brand? I have a launch x431 and it’s pretty horrible
Yes he could have unplugged the horn

I have a question. I sent you an email. Did you get it?
Did you get a locksmith license?
Yes
@@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTOreally interested to hear the process you went through to get the locksmith license. Material for a video, perhaps?
Door and ignition same cut intersting
The door actually has 2 less cuts than the ignition. After reading the door lock, I had to use progression to get the other 2 cuts.
@@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO oh ok thanks for the info
Is it token based?
Nope. Tokens are a thing of the past. Most key programmers today don’t require them.

No VSP requirements for this tool or any tool as of yet. Autel still works even without a VSP.
the real issue was when the scanner told you to turn the ignition off then on to read the passcode, you just turned the ignition off
You might have a point. Thanks for watching!

I hated my topdon key programming tool. It was just weak
This is an entry level key programmer. The benefit is that it is also a fully functional professional level diagnostic scan tool.

You dont do akl to erase all other keys
The shop asked me not to erase the keys incase they found the original.
I take it the customer did not want two keys just curious.
The shop lost the customers only key so they just wanted to replace it.
Why do you have this open to the public stop showing or cut it out and have them pay for the lesson

Nice tutorial on how to steal a car. How irresponsible.
You sound like one of those so called professionals who pay NASTF yearly to have a certificate so you can program keys!
