  • The Casio CTK-5000 simply builds on the features of the 4000 - more sounds, more beats, simple as that.

    CT-X5000 video, calls it a CTK-5000.

    This Casio seems more functional, but what about the so called realistic Yamaha sound?

    Hey mate i've been really struggling with this keyboard triyng to figure out how to open reverb , chorus and tone adjustment settings. When i press the function button, only the transpose opens up , also i have tried reading the manual where it tells me to press some numbers simultaneously in order to be able to open up a function i wish to open ,but none of all that works for , i've tried contacting Casio service but they too didn't turn up to tell me how this works, So i please request you to tell me how to open reverb and other tone adjustment settings

      After pressing function, press the number "6". It acts as an arrow button while in function mode, taking you through each of the function options one by one, left to right. Pressing "4" will take you back the other way. It's NOT an easy keyboard to use!

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First of all: You're highly unlikely to damage it by plugging in the wrong power adapter, so no stress there. Secondly, the cheapest/easiest way to replace the adapter is to buy a multi-voltage power adapter kit from an electronics store. It's easy to set up, they'll probably even do it for you if you take the keyboard into the store. Tell them Gearfacts sent you!

    Lol! for a moment I thought my non existent imaginary door bell sounded! LOL! Some of these tones are funny. I like the keyboaed. These Blue back lit LCD based Casio keyboards really DID improve on the CT670(the original "Good" PCM Casio). There are many models that are obviously better but I at least like the improvements in sound and features. Now, I am ONLY speaking of Casio PCM tone bank keyboards, NOT classic 80s synthetic tone keyboards.. I love ALL those! But when the new 210 tonebank Casios were released in the late 80s, the way was paved for some really crappy Casio keyboards. It has been a kinda up and down, forwards then backwards adventure with them ever since. But that is only my opinion as a Casio Lover. I have played alot of them and own alot of them, good and bad.

    • @cheapnoise9014
      @cheapnoise9014 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree. From 1989, Casio just released different versions of the SA-1 tone bank. I think Casio's best times were from 1982 to 1988. They had so many different sounding keyboards from the CZs, the PTs, the MTs to my favorites, the SKs. I was Casio SK Strike on TH-cam recently. Never the less, can someone make a new 32 key sampling keyboard?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah press function then keep pressing number 6 repeatedly until the sustain option appears (I think that's what it is anyway, there are like 50 function options!) Anyway the trick with the function menu is that pressing 6 moves to the next option while pressing 4 takes you to the previous option.

    This is a ctk version of the wk 500 which is really neat. This keyboard looks like the ctx700 and its also probably easier to operate than ctx 700 and 800 models but at least easier than ctx 3000 and 5000 for sure. :) what do you think?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is indeed easier to operate. Still a bit Casio-quirky but not unreachable like some aspect of the CT-X series. At the end of the day though, the CT-X has that super-charged AiX sound chip...

I'm currently trying to take it apart and figure out what is wrong to try to fix it, but can't see how I'm meant to get under the keys. Has anyone tried to take one of these apart?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there's a whole second set of screws along the top of the keyboard (inside) as I recall. Kind of a plastic strip that holds the whole assembly in place. There's a lot to remove :/

    • @CodenameRockerika
      @CodenameRockerika 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gearfacts Thanks for your reply! I figured it out. It was just a matter of finding more and more screws to remove the top cover, some of which were hidden in deep recesses that require a long stem screwdriver to access. :)
      I was able to find and fix the problem too. At some point the key was smashed and the small plastic hook-shaped part of the key that prevents it from being pulled up was bent. It must have been rubbing and causing the friction. A little delicate bending and it is good as new!
