Just lovely. I love, love, love the addition of the gold "river." Quite honestly that creates such a stunning effect, that it's better than if you had enough paper to cover your project to begin with.
Hi Jonathan, another outstanding tutorial. I missed you live, I'm in California, I was sleeping when you were live. Lol. I just watched your tutorial and was so impressed again, you have a gift from God. Many blessings from California. 😊
Firstly, I love your cat, its always nice involving our pets and nice to see. Secondly you did an amazing job. Truly beautiful results! thanks for posting) look forward to seeing lots more. Your videos are very well done, sound, visuals, your personality and your lovely talent you share and teach us:)
Thank you and Lily the cat says thank you as well I think she’s going to have to have a channel soon enough she can’t get enough I’ve been on camera 😸😸😸
Fantastically beautiful and awesome. For your first time using this medium, it couldn't have come out more perfect. Your creative eye strikes again composing your layout with torn edges added by the striking gold leaf "river" effect, all so well combined with your own paper which is lovely! As always, your work is top rated in my book. I enjoyed watching as you embarked on yet another first-timer with such eye catching results.
Wow! Awesome! Exactly the kind of project that my cat would have been all over. Were he here. Best regards, I can hardly wait to see your next application of this sort!
Jonathon I watch your current videos and was pleasantly surprised when your named turned up in a search for resin projects. This IKEA table transformation is lovely!
Yes I felt that way too quite intimidated but once I’ve completed I felt it was more simple than I expected and definitely would give it a go again in the future😀
This is something I've been longing to have a go at. now I see I can do it in a small scale to start with, I will defo have a bang at this. "Really beautiful"
Genius!!! Sometimes the best comes out of the worst.i love that so much I would plan to do it that way. Thank you again for another beautifully detailed tutorial.
I stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago and I am hooked. Your creations are just beautiful. I decoupage bits and pieces but I have never seen anything like your work anywhere before. I think I have now caught up but some I shall be rewatching especially the fabric covered wardrobe. Thankyou for sharing all the wonderful things and showing step by step how to do these techniques. I am itching to crank up my decoupage skills after watching what you do.
I’m playing “catch up” with some of your videos 🥹😁🥹 A Beautiful table!! I adore florals🌸🌺🌸 I have 2 end tables that have glass inserts-which are “pain” to get out to clean under-this looks like a fantastic solution!!! Thank you!!! 🌼🌺🌼
Loved that you added the gold, I was cringing a little bit when it was just white but loved it by the end. We have a Lilly too but she is a dog but she is white just like you're Lilly
@@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove Nope she is being a grumpy old lady lately, she is 14. She wont leave my side so I have to have a bed under my desk in my studio for her, I cant leave the room without my shadow.

Nice project. I'll use resin on my next project. My biggest worries are related to the fact that I don't have margins on my furniture so I must pay attention to all the margins a d make sure it goes smooth on the entire surface... let's see. I'll try making a video too. Ajy mistakes that might occur during the process may be so helpful for others🤗 Your project turned out great♥️
I love this idea AND your paper Collection is beautiful. I have the parrots to use on my sweethearts highway cabinet. I'm still in the practicing with smaller pieces first.
Definitely the best way to start small and progress to the bigger projects you will learn so much more that way even if you make the mistakes that’s what they’re there for…. I called him happy accidents❤️
OMG!!!! I have that paper and ordering an table from IKEA!!! The adding of gold leaf is so original and beautiful! may do 2 tables and give them as gifts…thank you so much!!!!!
Perfect idea obviously there is a second side to that paper so I’m sure there’s going to be enough to do the two tables please send me a picture if you do give it a go I’d love to see how you get on ❤️🙏
I'd love to work with resin but I have been a bit apprehensive about it. I think it's just a case of jumping in and giving it a go. Hopefully my project will turn out to be a success like yours. The gold river was genius.
Hi Jonathon, I'm a new member, and I find your works (works of art) truly magnificent. You gave me a wonderful idea for my grandmother's very ruined art deco wardrobe, to be covered with the fabric. I wanted to ask you, since I have an ugly, gray, modern American fridge: can you give us some ideas to decorate it? I had thought with vintage labels. Would you show us one of your creations? I would be thrilled!
For anyone wanting to try a countertop or butcher block or any type of work surface that will have a drip edge, use lots of plastic sheeting and expect a few days of curing time. Thats the worst part; the curing time on a large area with a drip edge. Other than that its a fun process whether using decoupage, marbling effects, etc.
Thank you Liz this comment is such a good source of information and I welcome your arse and anybody else is it really helps us all in together very much appreciated ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Jonathon! Great to see you using epoxy… I Over the years, I have been using it on top of transfers and/or decoupaged napkins on my various sized trays, I even did my late mother’s trolley table 😀. It makes sense because of all the drinks spillage and it lasts for ever!
You are such an inspiration! Your fearlessness in diving right in to something you've never attempted before, and achieving such magnificent results, are so encouraging! I believe now that I,too, could do a project like this. I am in the U.S.,though, so I must ask: where did you obtain such a large print, and on thin enough paper so as to be suitable for decoupage? I thought I heard you say you printed it yourself... how? One last question;what kind of paper is it,and where can it be found, please?
Gorgeous! Thanks so much for the tutorial…I’m going to try this. Hey, I’ve been trying to find the House of Mendes paper. Seems it’s not available in Canada? Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks again!
Yes I’m not sure whether there is a stockist in Canada as of yet but I think the UK distributor is happy to ship out I’ll share the link to her business poshchalk.co.uk?aff=4
I have used resin over paper napkins on a bathroom shelf that had pink tiles on ! I took shelf of the wall painted it all with white chalk paint and then mod podged napkins on , then when dry used plywood and tape to stop run off then poured resin and now have beautiful blue and white floral tiles on the shelf that has been going good in bathroom for 3 years
@@vickyconnell4542 thank you so much for your response. I’m going to try & decoupage 4” tiles & resin for coasters. 6” table protectors & maybe a matching table tray. 🤗
@@vickyconnell4542 wow that sounds wonderful and will most definitely give people a huge amount of confidence when tackling similar projects well done and thank you for the wonderful comment x
The gold leaf was a good choice! I’m somewhat overboard when it comes to waste. Do you ever keep the gold leaf “crumbs” for glitter or something? That stuff is pricey. Just a thought, since I’ve never worked with any metallic leaf.
So that's the trick to getting bubbles out of resin. I saw a woman use an actual cigarette lighter on each bubble, yikes, it looked like it would've taken forever; with your way I'm much more apt to give it a try. Another beautiful peace of art.
I haven't watched this yet, my laptop AND phone died within a few weeks of each other. The phone I am using isn't good for videos. So dear young man just to let you know views and comments haven't dropped lol :) I hope to be back to "normal" (I'm actually never normal) soon take care.
you read all the safety stuff, no mask? Resin is self-leveling, you don't need a brush. Next time, for your health and anyone else in the house, use a mask, and ventilate the room very well, it will affect you eventually and definitely any animals in the house. and by the way, resin will catch on fire with the torch, be very careful, you did it too much and too low.
Just lovely. I love, love, love the addition of the gold "river." Quite honestly that creates such a stunning effect, that it's better than if you had enough paper to cover your project to begin with.
