Thanks, remembering being Sam 25 years ago (though at Mansfield, not Trinity) when internet was in its infancy and Doctor Who had been off-air for 6/7 years. Life membership then was more expensive in real terms - £5 I believe. The Tides of Time had about a dozen issues under our belt and in Mansfield College basement bar, drank a bottle of wine or three with Lalla Ward, former Doctor Who companion, wife of Richard Dawkins, and ex-wife of 4th Doctor, Tom Baker. Gilliat, then editor of the Doctor Who Magazine, with a society dinner somewhere in Cornmarket a year or so after. So many happy memories of those friendships, and still in touch with Matthew and others who came to the society long after I had left.
I love Doctor Who and will be definitely joining the Doctor Who Society if I come to Oxford University. It feels like part of the Doctor Who watchalongs are similar to the Doctor Who Lockdown watchalongs organised by Emily Cook. It would be great if you have an Instagram account for the Doctor Who Society too.
Thank you for the comment! Sadly I don't think there is an Instagram account for the Dr Who Society, but they made a video for last year's open day (follow the link to the TH-cam video) :) th-cam.com/video/Mb73LwzdoHM/w-d-xo.html
