When I saw the Smolder on your recent ink review, I immediately jumped to Dromgoule's and pre-ordered it! I'm a big Grateful Dead fan, so it was kinda like an order. I'm looking forward to filling it with - haha - Diamine Skull and Roses.
Benu has been so great, I've been loving their hand painted special editions like the Euphoria you showed. I really like the scattered Benu branding on the skulls and roses pen. I have their Briolette in milky way and i adore it
Great review. The design on the Skull & Roses release remind me of sealing wax. My daily writers are Benus (Euphoria & Briolette models) and I can't say enough how much I like using these pens.

I have appreciated that Benu have taken a novel approach to their models. You are correct that some may not be particularly fond of all the offerings but that can be said for many other manufacturers. Their pens can lean towards being gaudy. However, none can be called boring. Great review, David.

Dry brushing a bit of acrylic paint onto the raised details on these would probably look fantastic. Just need to slap some Necron Compound onto that bad boy
Fantastic pen by Benu , just right for a girl with Lancashire Red Rose ancestors . Yes that makes me a Tudor Rose . Would be a great pen to start off my love affair with pens . Love that it is tactile and unique. A collection needs to start somewhere .

I'd say the pen is unique in the market. You rarely see any extravagant designs like these under $2000. Yes, the material is commensurate to the price, but design alone looks way more expensive than what it is. Most brands just play with resin / celluloid colours and that's about it.

These are awesome looking pens. I already said it in the Google form but want to elaborate more here. My number 1 issue is proprietary cartridge converters. It is upsetting when I was starting out to order a pen, then wait a month to receive it only to find out a converter is not provided and I the ones I have do not work for that pen. Not to mention I have to get many more converters rather than a few to use as needed.

The definition on the tattoo might be a bit much for the pen but worth exploring for a limited edition it will turn it up to eleven . Ian surprised the ef nib is not a nail like the Schmitt nibs are good and heard that benu ensures they are tuned before sale
I don’t “collect” brands, but if I did Benu is one of the brands I would consider. Love my Tailsman and intrigued by especially by there more audacious offerings, Grand Scepter anyone. Thanks for a great review.

Great review David. I've been into heavy metal music my whole life. Been in metal bands. I wear all black everyday and I'm quite fond of dark imagery. I've never seen a more fitting fountain pen for me personally. Ha ha. Love your videos sir! Happy Halloween 🎃
I live in Hawaii and we have no pen stores/boutiques other than Mont Blanc. I was able to visit Dromgooles on my first trip to TX and was introduced to Benu there! My BF bought 2 Benu for his sister and niece, but they picked the colors I wanted so I settled for some exclusive Noodlers inks instead. 😂
I am a new fountain pen and ink lover! Honestly, I really wish I had discovered fountain pens sooner but I am sure glad I did find them! Funny enough, My first pen was a Benu, and I have 3 Benu’s now and …some other fountain pens too! ❤I guess you just can’t have one.. or 10. Yes, it's amazing how employing skilled labor to make small batches and paying them commensurate with their skills can make something significantly more expensive than a similar product that's mass-produced by automation and forced labor...
Wow, talk about comparing apples to aardvarks 🙄 There are some decent Chinese pens, but Benu pens are creative and beautifully crafted, not in a sweatshop.

I love Benu pens. They are unique and I especially like this new design. I disagree about the design. I think it works really well as it is, without a contrasting background. I like the subtlety of it...if you can use the word subtle to describe anything by Benu.

Those are pretty fun. I usually don't look at Benu's lineup because the sparkly stuff isn't for me so nice to see something else

This is the first time I have seen a Benu that is in a design that I quite like. Sparkles are not to my taste, but this is a really neat!
I normally like more subdued designs, but these are very well done.

Really neat pen, but I do think it's maybe a bit of a miss step to not slap a number 6 nib on it. I think that would have looked a lot better.
