I loved this tour, I moved away from New York 6 years ago and I dearly miss all the art. Thanks for sharing!

thank you so much for taking us along to some chelsea galleries! it's my favorite thing to do whenver i'm in NY. also helps with the FOMO of not being able to see such incredible work, so it's much appreciated. 💓

And really fun when you came to Vanessa - i liked the lovely imaginary, playfull, symbolic, mystical sculptures and the dokuments as beautifull scriptures of life writings 🎶🖤🎵

The Jenny Holzer is like a reminder that even when things are hidden they leave a permanent mark on history. Brilliant variety of great exhibitions as always 😍

edward hopper-esq meets kids but more intimate. Lady and the Tramp is a great reference! For myself it prompted my love of art. Thank you for your reviewing of shows as it's tuff to get up to New York.

I like this fusion of the known Dream and finds it interesting to enter the Disney Dreamworld through the Doors of large images - 🙃😺🦄

The Holzer exhibits look elegant but maybe that's a problem in itself. There is also an issue, also, about how simply painting can carry messages. Isn't Disney ubiquitous enough?
Discernment is important though when going to shows, otherwise we're just tourists heading for the giftshop. I'm getting spoiled by these excellently filmed videos Mary.

Those sad rapper scupltures are so beautiful, what are they made from? They look like mixed media, but you never know

Thanks for the tour, the contrast between the works based in tech and the works made by the artists hand is interesting, kind of cold vs. warm.

Taking Disney movies as an inspiration is a new low in American painting.

But how many people would have been genuinely able to relate the painting with a Disney movie.

I think art today is all about tricks and gimmicks let the machine do the work type thing wanting glory from a weak idea with a clever piece of writing attached to it...

Meh. To piggy back on a previous comment...I wonder if Disney was somehow influenced by Edward Hopper's forlorn style. Equipment upgrade noticed. You are a great distraction.

Looks like the only shows worth seeing here are the Vanessa German and the Rick Lowe shows. The rest of them are either too derivative (Colen), dated (Holzer), or deadening (Fisher). I appreciate it far more when the artist has an original idea and executes it into something beautiful and thought-provoking, and I feel that German and Lowe successfully did just that while the others fall short. I'm usually a fan of Holzer, but that exhibit honestly looks awful. I can't think of a single artist has been able to make something out of the Trump administration that was actually engaging, courageous, or even interesting. Also given all that's happened since Trump left office, is it realistic to expect people to care about Trump's tweets and the Mueller report in late 2022?
