The word “papa” is not a mistake or any offensive word in children's language. So it couldn´t be considered political correctness.
In my opinion the video showed us an exaggerated situation. First, the girl wasn’t offending the boy and then her step-mother was offensive to her.
However, I agree with what she said at the end of the video about how we have to extend equality, empathy and respect, because we have to respect the different ways of expression that the cultures have.

Political correctness is avoiding criticizing other people who may feel offended. Our parents teach us the culture of respecting each other.
The use of different ways to express an idea can cause in some cases a little confusion for people who are starting to learn a new language, but what can we do? Well, it is necessary to explain the mistakes and not try to denigrate, or bully others.
The best way to use political correctness is explaining that if something is wrong, we have to correct with respect and using more assertive words. All of us have the right to make mistakes and also correct them.
On many occasions, we can inadvertently cause displeasure, it depends a lot on the person's state of mind, and the culture they have, white jokes must be made at the timely moment so as not to injure susceptibilities. We agree with this, of course, we must infer fair treatment throughout the world, as human beings. We all need to be treated that way, with respect and empathy.
It is a great truth that we learn better with empathy, love and not with harshness and being attacked.

We should be empathic and respectful with other people. People should avoid being offensive with the vulnerable person. Each person has a different personality and different ways of reacting to confront any problem. Empathic means showing an ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

In my opinion, it is that political correctness has been manipulated by some people since they use this term sometimes as a way to offend or denigrate others; it's also about how her grandmother felt after hearing these comments for that reason I think we have to teach all our students what political correctness is and in this way they could learn how to treat to others without discrimanation.

There are some cases where people´s background has a misconception of what is correct or not, but in many cases, it depends on the circumstances and also on the prior knowledge that people have. There are different ways to express one thing. Suppose the person who listens to those words does not know the whole meaning. In that case, the result could sound insulting, so the best way to avoid any confrontation is using political correctness and asking for a clear explanation of the word.

According to the theme in the video, the way to treat or address people is also important, the use of words to address others must be correct because we will not always find people who accept comments in the same way.
In addition, the terms that we usually use when saying something in different languages or even from one country to another may vary and the meaning may also change, but I think that when we refer to using certain phrases or words to tell a joke, we must first know who we are. are listening or with whom we are speaking to avoid certain disagreements.
I agree with the comment they make in the video; it is necessary to apply empathy and make correct use of the correctness policy.

I believe your opinion is correct because when we are children, we do not think about the negative effects that a joke can produce on others. Children don't have the intention to offend someone. Political correctness people don´t accept to say something that result harm for other people, in the contrary people try to relax and solve the problems without attacking someone else. Latin stepmother reaction was typically the way of a sensitive people about her culture and value, she felt offended by her stepdaughter, but it has not to do with PC as many people think. Nowadays, people hide behind PC to get their goals.
Pc is about being tolerant and proactive rather than reactive. People need to be educated to have in their minds to treat all people fairly and to avoid humiliating them.

Nowadays, people use different words at the moment of speaking because they learn from different ways tv or the Internet for instance. But, we have to understand most of them do not use that kind of word correctly and some of them use it without the intention of offending others. Furthermore, it is understandable that in the real world there are people that take things so seriously and they are so sensitive. I think that we have to consider the person at the moment of speaking in order to not offend them considering their culture, race, and so on.

When we talk about political correctness is when we don’t exclude groups or people, in several cases we use this type of language to marginalize, insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against. There is nothing positive about excluding and insulting people.
Moreover, people use political correctness to further divide the races and genders.

So, the political correctness is right, there is no discrimination.

Political Correctness includes the avoidance of terms that reinforce preconceived negative stereotypes. The elimination of verbal discrimination is often considered one of the main goals of political correctness. PC is accepting the cultures and has respect for them. A word or term should not necessarily be offensive because your country has different definitions. Additionally, PC doesn't exclude groups or disappointments with some phrases. We aren't afraid to speak out. We should not be rude or offensive or criticize them. You will need to be educated to correct a term.

I think it's Lauren, she's upset because her stepmom was upset about the confusion between Papá and papa.

The main purpose of political correctness is not to allow people to insult, disparage or criticize people that are at a disadvantage than others , have different thoughts or culture . We should start being part of this teaching them how to be nice, respectful and empathetic with everyone.

PC refers to the avoidance of harmful terms that promote negative stereotypes. The omission of verbal discrimination is often considered one of the main goals for people today. We must talk or express without offending each other.

According to the video, there are many people who feel offended, because sensitivity can be felt at different levels by each person therefore, Political Correctness avoids offending others and helps to use the language correctly especially when someone knows it, but if people are learning, they are not mocking, it is accidentally.
If we talk about political Correctness we are talking about "be respectful", it refers to diversity, tolerance, and multiculturalism.
If you’re respectful, you show consideration and regard for someone or something. Be respectful of your neighbors, your family, and your friends.
The language that we transmit in our reality, it could be in the better way. We need to act in a good way.

People when using a word same sound is possible that it will affect other people. Political correctness tries to identify which people use appropriate language. It will affect our emotions in discriminating against others persons in race, religion, and culture.

It is interesting but we know as parents have to teach good forms to our children in order to make respectful and empathic with older people, and we always need to have in mind the cultural differences of diversity, sometimes the people could offend unconsciously. so, our words should be graceful and soft because human beings are happy when we give a good answer, too people are tied to their ethnicity and can´t live beyond it.

It seems to me that the video was interesting because we could listen to how the different reactions could be, for example the stepmother in my opinion overreacted about the joke, so it is important to be conscious about peoples’ feelings or peoples’ point of view according to a specific topic.
Jokes are funny when you laugh about yourself and people that are around you and they can share your ideas or thoughts.
The most important is to eliminate the behavior that is offensive to various groups in order to avoid disparaging or offending others.
