You guys know that we want to hear your take on the Stones Live/Mike Postle situation. Looking forward to it ;) Maybe even an "emergency" broadcast like S4Y did recently.
You called out a player for not tipping a dealer?! Sorry, that completely crosses the line, it’s none of your business how much or little someone tips.
Hey Alexander! It took us a while to get things sorted, but yes, The Rake is now available on Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Spotify, and other popular platforms: therake.transistor.fm/subscribe
Fair enough :) Luckily, The Rake is now available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, and other traditional "podcast" platforms: therake.transistor.fm/subscribe
Hey, grinder from 2011-2016 and back again....can I ask a question for the next POD? if so here it goes-for new Vegas (WSOP) players, what would be the perfect time to stay in town low stakes wise? form the UK non icl.
Always come during the wsop in the summer time and the month following. If you can’t come then, another good time to come is during the NCAA basketball championship tournament which runs from around March 15th-April 4th.
usually the others guys at the table stand up for me when someone gets out of line. I try to ignore any hate or harassment and not let it get to me because I know they want to get under my skin and put me on tilt.
Think we all know the answer to that .... few women can cut it at the very highest stakes. Jen Harman in cash games, back in the day, springs to mind and Vanesa Selbst in tornaments but I can't think of any outside of them two. Same thing in Chess.
I think that on average, women just have less competitive drive than men do. Same reason there are few top chess/Scrabble/video-game players who are women. They don't seem to thrive as much on zero-sum competition as us men do, and therefore don't put in the work needed to become world-class at such competitions. If you look at the males and females of other animal species, it's males who have to 'prove themselves' via competition in order to find a mate, and this instinctive drive has carried over to us humans (competing for money and fame, which translates to reproductive success, though we're not always conscious of this connection). The fact that most top competitors are men is then a byproduct of evolution.
Even tho Marle is looking like a million dollars, i dont think i can listen to/or watch anymore. It's kind of disgusting. 7 mins in and shaming men already. 👎
Aww you poor little snowflake. They're talking about real incidents of verbal harassment and a near-miss with what could have been assault or worse. If you take that as shaming, then it tells me you have treated women like this.
Greatpod !! Keep it up ladies
Some really important topics brought to light here 👍
I remember Jen Shahade--she was a Chess Grandmistress (female Grandmaster-rank) before she did poker.

@@stupidguy97 I agree .... I believe there are other factors too but 200,000 years or more of evolution is a tough hurdle to overcome.
