What's up guys! Hope you like our SECOND video of our Antigua trip! We found a lost fish aggregating device, or "FAD", floating in the ocean. I had never seen one before. They are constructed by commercial fisherman with rope, nets, floats, barrels and whatever else they can get a hold of and tethered to the bottom of the sea; typically with a car engine! These floating devices then attract small shrimp and creatures, then bigger fish, then BIG fish!
I wish you would have pointed it out in the video. lol
Really hope they don’t use car engines, who’s watching if it’s been cleaned?

Darcizzle Offshore We just had the 51 annual blue marlin tourney this past weekend in Georgetown S.C. It’s $7,200 to enter everything. Great turn out of 59 boats but unusual slow fishing. Only 17 blue marlin released. 3 white marlin released and 11 sail fish

Nice Video i was in Kenya 2 weeks ago and when you call this rough then you don’t want to go fishing in Kenya in Summer because the weather you had would be very good in Kenya!
When I was in Kenya 2 weeks ago we couldn’t even see the other boat that was 30 meters away because of the waves!

Darci I have respect for the beating you took on this day at sea. We have many days with similar conditions here on the Pacific especially during the months of April, May, and early June. I often have a difficult time finding crew that are willing to fish in these conditions. As I get older I am doing it less than I used to. Thanks for a great video.

Darcie, I love the look on your face there at about 1:53 after that huge sway or list to the boat.. It was like a "seriously WTF was that" look. And Brian, you are totally right about a boat like that.. The smell of the diesel and the hum of that engine is a sea sickness inducer.. I would have been hurling the whole time..

Whoa...! That looked like a bouncy day sea conditions were big rollers and not good for elbows knees, heads or stomachs now can you imagine if you hooked up and had to back down on marlin did you go out again after the previous trip?

Well you caught some fish, the marlin can't hide forever. That was some rough conditions Darcie and I'm glad you didn't get seriously hurt when you fell. l worked on a commercial fishing boat and in weather like that it can be miserable and wears you out. I'm sorry you got seasick in the morning, hope its calmer next time. They probably won't let you, but if it's rough again ask to pilot the boat, at least on the way out, that's what my dad did for my brother's seasickness and it worked. (good practice when you get that 45 foot sportfisher)
On a happier note, you're in Antigua and are well known there. You are famous Darcie!

I love fishing but nvr a big fan of FADs
I feel sorry for people that get sea sick. All excited for a day out catching fish then bam they are lying on the deck quivering in nausea. Then for them to get told we are not leaving till we catch some fish they all go into the fetal position and look like they are dying. A piece of smelly bait that accidentally happens to land on their face soon gets them up hanging over the side providing berley.
