    The C permit is called " never leave permit " restrictions are - you are not required to do military service ( if you are young ) and not vote, but you can buy property, if you leave the country for more then two years then you lose the permit.

    congrats! I did not realize that it is that difficult. I am also non-EU, came to switzerland to work for a big Swiss company, and at the end of the first 5 years with a B permit, I expected them to ask me to apply for another 5 years, but they just sent me a letter inviting me to go to the local council office to collect my C permit. I did not have to do anything to apply for it. But this was in 2008.

      Switzerland is logical. You had a good job for 5 years and paid taxes and all the other stuff and have no debts, than you get c permit or citizenship without a struggle. Of course there is a little difference for EU and non EU.

    You are amazing the way you explain things precisely. Many people don’t even know the difference between applying for the Swiss passport and the Swiss citizenship… I liked how calmly you pointed out the difference between PR and citizenship - I would explode over the people’s ignorance not knowing the difference. Keep up the good work 👏 Congratulation for your PR🥂

    The biggest difference between B and C permit is tax level (lower for C) plus you can buy a property and rent it (b can buy for purpose of living in it). Additionally C perm and citizens need to file their taxes. With B permit you renew it each 5 years, not one year.

    • @ricomagic4620
      @ricomagic4620 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      B1 for non EU equivalent with L for EU
      Renew each year, link to home adress and employer

    Congrats on the C-Permit I wonder now what the difference is when the partner is a Swiss citizen.
    Oh and one hint, yes you have Asian looks, but then again, one of my frens is Black, and he's about as Swiss as it gets, hell he is either speaking in his Swiss dialect or English. So looks are very desieveing. But I can understand why you'd prefer to keep the Singaporean citizanship over the Swiss on 🙂

      I believe you have to live in Switzerland in total of 10 years in order to apply. And depending on the municipal you are living in they can be super strict with the citizenship. Some let the whole town/ municipal vote upon you. Western part of Switzerland is known to be less strict by giving out citizenships.

I’m on my 4th year and wondering if it’s possible to attempt at Y5-so you gave me hope 🥰 I guess I misunderstood (and maybe it’s canton to canton regulations as well, I’m in Basel); I thought the requirements you enumerated were the standard everywhere, which we would still need to prove at 10th year; and that fast track means you have eligible circumstances (like having Swiss or EU spouse turning C) on top of the standard.
