Gotta say, I feel like they knocked it out of the park with Anby and Nicole. Such a versatile core to f2p teams early on, exactly what you want from free characters. Once you have better options, they'll make the backbone of your second team with Anton/Neko/Zhu Yuen

One thing I think was a big oversight in this Video: Corin can't ONLY work with Von Lycaon - she also has a fantastic team setup with Corin, Rina & Anby. She synergises well with Rina because between her 2 passives & her weapon giving her almost 160% DMG bonus WITHOUT any DMG% from Drives (Set bonus OR Slot 5), so she can instead run a Pen% setup (since they take the same slot as DMG%) - and Pen as a stat becomes more powerful the more of it you have - naturally synergising with Rina. Rina & Anby are also just a naturally excellent tag team. Also - I feel like everyone is taking the complete wrong approach to how she's supposed to be used. Corin's role is not to be on the field most of the time - her Teams "Stun" character is the main on-fielder (Anby or Lycaon, respectively). She's a predominantly off field character who get's swapped in for massive bursts of damage once an enemy is stunned, and then spends the rest of the time on the bench charging energy. Basically she's used to burst down Elites & Bosses while her team handles the mooks/stunning side of things. She is the "Main DPS" in that she does the most damage, but she does that in 6 seconds of Chainsawing while the boss is stunned - then it's back to the backline until Anby/Lycaon Stuns it again. For reference on her burst power: a full use of her EX Special Saw has a 4200% scaling ratio at the level of investment this video was using - which for comparison is 600% more than Ellen does with her entire Ultimate (and the same value as Soldier 11's Ult). Corin's Ultimate then - for further comparison - has a 4800% ratio, so if you managed to get both up, that's 9000% between the 2. I'm kind of curious to know how these damage calculations actually played out for her, because when used in her intended role, I have no idea how people are ranking her damage so low... It feels like the Genshin equivalent of using Childe to Charge Shot enemies to death and then complaining when Ganyu outdamages him. Honestly I'd love to build her, but since I got neither of Lycaon OR Rina she's not really got any great options for me (and I guess I'm just too much of a simp for Billy's character to play anyone else).
An additional team, and probably one of the better teams out of all of the ones listed (especially for early game) is Soldier 11, Piper, and Lucy. Assault/Disorder is absolutely broken and puts up numbers that consistently rival the Ellen Joe ice team. Pairing Assault (piper) with burn makes the most sense because Piper and Lucy synergize via factions and Soldier and Lucy synergize via element and burn application. For those with these three characters I can't recommend this team enough. It's crushing content since it doesn't rely on stats from drive disks and mainly damage from assault and disorder anomaly procs
bro, this is my team. they even run through those enemies that requires ice or electric. Piper doing that Assault/ Disorder reaction after burned enemies is crazy.

Piper is the physical support, any physical DPS will benefit from having her on the team. Piper/Lucy is a physical/fire core that some people can have from the standard banner. Lucy also has quick assist capabilities and will have off field damage with her pigs. Piper will build up anomaly and stun quickly. Nekomata, Corin, and Billy are there to deal the actual damage while the others weaken the enemy. The only reason why I don't use Piper/Lucy is because I have Rina
Currently building a team with DPS Corin with the support from Soukkaku and Lycaon. I've been thinking of building a team with DPS Anton with support Anby and Nicole. Great video

They're really funny xP Edit: I will say that Soldier 11 was the unit I got from the "guarantee in 50 pulls" starter, so pretty sure the "Military Budget Cuts" will be the team I use for her, though I lack Lucy as of right now, the Soukaku recommend is a good thing to know

Piper user here- you're SO right. My first 5 star is Koleda, and I didn't get any other fire or belobog characters until chapter 2 (where you get Ben for free), but what I did get from gacha were Piper and Lucy with their first and second cinemas respectively. I was also lucky enough to get Piper's signature engine and let me tell you, so far her assault damage is carrying me. She's very user friendly and those three have great synergy.

I keep getting spooked by Nekomata - she’s at M2 now… It’s honestly great, though; I’m about to pull Ellen (and of course Neko got me on the 50/50 earlier), I got M6 Soukaku in the process, and I’m planning to pick Lycaon on the pity banner. Looking like Nekomata is gonna be the core of my non-Ellen team for the foreseeable future, not that I’m complaining since she controls great and has such a FTP-friendly team comp.
Piper has been my Goat. Her and Lucy are a powerhouse.and I looked up before this video any teams. And it's entirely just pyro with either Soldier 11 or koleda for stun and my favorite so far since I don't have koleda and randomly got soldier is a discord team of both Piper and soldier 11 swapping each other around for discord procs. It's very fun and I can't wait to build it out.
As soon as I saw Anton for the first time I knew I'm gonna enjoy using him, it kinda clicked like when I first saw Boothill's drip marketing for Star Rail, and I'm glad the game agrees with me because I already have him at M5 and he's so fun to use, he might not be very good at dealing damage but I'm still gonna build him at least a little bit
My current team is Piper, Lucy, Soldier 11 partnered with rocketboo. Shreds all content so far at interknot level 34. Burning enemies then applying Assault/ Disorder with Piper's win to spin is just fckin satisfying

Why didnt you include Soukaku for Nekomata's best team? Her fly the flag massively buffs Nekomatas attack and allows you to follow up with a quick assist triggering her own massive dmg buff. The synergy is much better than Nicole or Corin.
Piper is just built different, at first I used her as a second damage dealer for my Corin as the main dps in the early game. But she out-damaged my Corin with her spin to win mech
I got Lycoan, I got 5 copies of Soukaku and I won my 50/50 on Ellen... this game is the definition of divine intervention I swear. Oh also I got like 5 copies of Piper and 3 of Lucy, so I'm already going ham on the available content
Definitely worth try on with Rina Grace and wolfy. Grace rotation is quite versatile and can switch back to Rina for the buff at anytime. Lycaon will melt down the stun bar, and all contribute to an unexpected incredible team
I have been using Cunning Hares and their bangboo and now i almost cleared everything with them except shiyu defense and one stage needing me to clear it 90s which is impossible for now unless i whale , yeah you can use billy if you dont have nekomata he work fine one tip when using him you can hold the attack button so he rapid fire which does a good damage and also Anby tip ( after the third basic attack hold the attack button so Anby unleash a good strike that help build shock faster or daze ) , and also use Nicole special and hold it for longer blackhole
Try this for Anby: use Skill after third basic (even without energy) and follow-up with a electro-charged 4th basic The Advantage is that: -timing is perfect -skill animation after three basics is faster -can dodge and still have two electro hits instead of one (when waiting or holding fourth basic)
I love Billy + Nekomata + Nicole team. Extremely fun and easy to play, also quite effective since you want most of your time spent on buffed Neko anyways. Both Billy and Neko benefit greatly from Nicole's debuff, both build a tonn of Assault status which is fantastic (esp if you pair em with Amillion), the next ether dps girl will probably be the BIS instead of Billy (because of Nicole's 30% DEF shred + 25% ether dmg buff) - spamming defensive assists won't even gimp team damage much, and those are WAY easier to do than perfect dodges mid-animation...
Guess I’ll keep using Anby, Nicole and Billy/Lucy until I decide who I wanna pull. I *was* gonna save for a certain character but leaks made me not happy at all (I know what yall gonna say, you don’t need to say it lol). Also trying to decide if I want to keep playing or not. Having a hard time getting into the story in the first place, which sucks for me Edit: watching this again after over 24 hours later because I got Grace on standard, which is one of who I wanted :D might also end up trying for Ellen but only going for 50/50
Try this team: Soldier11 / Piper / Lucy I know it doesn't have a stunner, but you can build Lucy in a way to have more Impact attributes and her boars inherit these. With that out of the way, the thing about this team is to apply burning with Lucy and Soldier and then apply Assault with Piper. For those who don't know, when you apply two different anomalies at the same time in the same enemy, you will cause a Disorder. Disorder uses all applied anomalies damages to calculate its own damage (it also makes that all DoT are applied in a single hit). And since Assault already have a big burst damage by itself, combining Burn + Assault + Disorder can give you astronomic burst damage numbers. So you don't actually need Soldier11 as long as you can apply burn and assault consistently. The key character is Piper (as the game is right now).
I'm coping so hard rn cause I went all in for ellen joe but lost to rina a at hard pity so now I'm using the standard victoria housekeeping team which is alright 💀
A personal favorite as of now for me that ain’t S rank bonanza is Piper Lucy Nekomata, Piper & Lucy are obvious, but with Nekomata you can build up so much assault with piper it’s literally insane. I’ve even gotten 2 assault proks per enemy in 2 seconds thanks to spin -> cat frenzy.

Hear me out, I mained soukaku as a dps, with basically anby nicole to clear SD, and boy does she deals so much dmg. The thing with soukaku is she’s fine on her own and can shatter ANYTHING with just her assist and 3 ex, then after that 1 combo just go fan her (her attack after planting the flag) and you got aoe attack and high burst dmg right there
I just wanted to add that for soldier 11 there is a build that I use that fairs quite well: Soldier 11, Piper, and Lucy. Tons of damage quick swaps and piper does good assault dmg too! I like that team a little better than ben and lucy with soldier 11.
Man, it's been so long since I've been on this channel. Last I was here was back when I still played Genshin a year or two ago. I felt nostalgic seeing that Klee jump.
This is kinda what I was afraid of for Ellen. There’s no way to guarantee Lycaon in the near future and he provides so much for her that I am kinda afraid to pull her honestly. That and her W-engine is such a massive boost it doesn’t feel like she’s particularly f2p friendly. Zhu Yuan feels a lot more so but at the cost of being heavily restricted in team building. Maybe holding on to my polychrome tightly for now is the best option. I am really enjoying my Nekomata for now, and she can easily be team 2 once I decide I dive in on a limited DPS
Too many people are sleeping on assault Nekomata with Piper and Lucy. Assault is probably the best anomaly to trigger a disorder nuke and Piper can easily double stack assault for Nekomata to punch out huge damage with two Ex in a single rotation. It's more "bursty" than Ellen but I like big numbers !
One thing that wasnt mentioned is how a bangboo can change a team comp. I have Ellen, corin and soukaku because i have the butler bangboo, but no lycon. That butlers bangboo is amazing.
I’ve been using a Koleda, Nekomata, and Lucy team. Lost the 50/50 and didn’t get soldier 11. Suprisingly the team shreds pretty well though. Outside of some bad mech matchups, it stacks a lot of disorder with Lucy’s summons and Nekomata doing physical dmg. With Koleda and Lucy doing fire dmg.
The biggest issue with physical dps characters atm is that physical characters are ONLY dps atm. The one character whose class could allow for support functionality (if you view anomaly as a class akin to star rail's nihility like I do) is more Kafka than Silver Wolf, and there's no physical stun, support or even defense. Hopefully the physical characters' team options expand once we get mote non-dps physical units.
Personally I've just been running a mono electric team since I got luck and got Grace. The team is just her, Anby, and Anton and it works pretty well so far as im at IK level 25
I ended up leaving my lvl 22 account and restarted, after a whole day grind the stars aligned, my standard banner gave me Lycaon, and i rolled Ellen. Now i got the full meta team without paying a dime, this will be a nice start
The game wants me to play grace so bad. Lost he 50/50 and got her. Got Rina as my first 5 star. Anton at c5 and got his weapon maxed out from chasing Ellen’s weapon. My lack of luck still feels pretty lucky.

Both Billy and Neko benefit greatly from Nicole's debuff, both build a tonn of Assault status which is fantastic (esp if you pair em with Amillion), the next ether dps girl will probably be the BIS instead of Billy (because of Nicole's 30% DEF shred + 25% ether dmg buff) - spamming defensive assists won't even gimp team damage much, and those are WAY easier to do than perfect dodges mid-animation...

Guess I’ll keep using Anby, Nicole and Billy/Lucy until I decide who I wanna pull. I *was* gonna save for a certain character but leaks made me not happy at all (I know what yall gonna say, you don’t need to say it lol). Also trying to decide if I want to keep playing or not. Having a hard time getting into the story in the first place, which sucks for me

Finally some love for my girly pop piper 😭😭😭. I have soldier 11 and i use piper as a main dps instead (m2p1)
Piper does crazy rendom damage, you'll just get 99999 damage out of nowhere sometimes
Try this team: Soldier11 / Piper / Lucy
I know it doesn't have a stunner, but you can build Lucy in a way to have more Impact attributes and her boars inherit these.
With that out of the way, the thing about this team is to apply burning with Lucy and Soldier and then apply Assault with Piper.
For those who don't know, when you apply two different anomalies at the same time in the same enemy, you will cause a Disorder.
Disorder uses all applied anomalies damages to calculate its own damage (it also makes that all DoT are applied in a single hit). And since Assault already have a big burst damage by itself, combining Burn + Assault + Disorder can give you astronomic burst damage numbers. So you don't actually need Soldier11 as long as you can apply burn and assault consistently. The key character is Piper (as the game is right now).

A personal favorite as of now for me that ain’t S rank bonanza is Piper Lucy Nekomata, Piper & Lucy are obvious, but with Nekomata you can build up so much assault with piper it’s literally insane. I’ve even gotten 2 assault proks per enemy in 2 seconds thanks to spin -> cat frenzy.
For Bangboos I pulled for Butler because of energy regen which is nice in every team. (And got him 1st 10-pulls so it allows me to save up now)

Rina, Antonn, Anby is a great electro team with 3/3 synergy, it works fairly well tbh
Hear me out, I mained soukaku as a dps, with basically anby nicole to clear SD, and boy does she deals so much dmg. The thing with soukaku is she’s fine on her own and can shatter ANYTHING with just her assist and 3 ex, then after that 1 combo just go fan her (her attack after planting the flag) and you got aoe attack and high burst dmg right there
I just wanted to add that for soldier 11 there is a build that I use that fairs quite well: Soldier 11, Piper, and Lucy. Tons of damage quick swaps and piper does good assault dmg too! I like that team a little better than ben and lucy with soldier 11.
I'm playing Neko/Nico/Anby at the moment, and it seems to do well, but I doubt I'm getting the most out of it yet.

Man, it's been so long since I've been on this channel. Last I was here was back when I still played Genshin a year or two ago. I felt nostalgic seeing that Klee jump.
This is kinda what I was afraid of for Ellen. There’s no way to guarantee Lycaon in the near future and he provides so much for her that I am kinda afraid to pull her honestly. That and her W-engine is such a massive boost it doesn’t feel like she’s particularly f2p friendly. Zhu Yuan feels a lot more so but at the cost of being heavily restricted in team building. Maybe holding on to my polychrome tightly for now is the best option. I am really enjoying my Nekomata for now, and she can easily be team 2 once I decide I dive in on a limited DPS

Use the 5* bangboo that matches either your 2 person faction or 2 person elemental. Repeat for 4*.

Too many people are sleeping on assault Nekomata with Piper and Lucy. Assault is probably the best anomaly to trigger a disorder nuke and Piper can easily double stack assault for Nekomata to punch out huge damage with two Ex in a single rotation. It's more "bursty" than Ellen but I like big numbers !

One thing that wasnt mentioned is how a bangboo can change a team comp. I have Ellen, corin and soukaku because i have the butler bangboo, but no lycon. That butlers bangboo is amazing.

I’ve been using a Koleda, Nekomata, and Lucy team. Lost the 50/50 and didn’t get soldier 11. Suprisingly the team shreds pretty well though. Outside of some bad mech matchups, it stacks a lot of disorder with Lucy’s summons and Nekomata doing physical dmg. With Koleda and Lucy doing fire dmg.
When Miyabi comes out in 1.3 people that got Ellen will regret their decision. I'm saving for her day 1.
Anton, Anby, and Rina is my way to go because first of all my Anton is literally fully maxxed out like I pulled him everytime

I’ve been using rina, lycon and zhu and that team is amazing but we all have different playing styles
The biggest issue with physical dps characters atm is that physical characters are ONLY dps atm. The one character whose class could allow for support functionality (if you view anomaly as a class akin to star rail's nihility like I do) is more Kafka than Silver Wolf, and there's no physical stun, support or even defense. Hopefully the physical characters' team options expand once we get mote non-dps physical units.

Personally I've just been running a mono electric team since I got luck and got Grace. The team is just her, Anby, and Anton and it works pretty well so far as im at IK level 25
I ended up leaving my lvl 22 account and restarted, after a whole day grind the stars aligned, my standard banner gave me Lycaon, and i rolled Ellen. Now i got the full meta team without paying a dime, this will be a nice start

The game wants me to play grace so bad. Lost he 50/50 and got her. Got Rina as my first 5 star. Anton at c5 and got his weapon maxed out from chasing Ellen’s weapon. My lack of luck still feels pretty lucky.
